ORIGINAL INFO: The world’s greatest heroes! …and a teenager who snaps his fingers a lot.
"I'm married? Eh, I'll roll with it."
Then a future villain tries to erase Linkara's marriage, he just laughs and blasts the villain to oblivion in a split second.
They kept Snapper around as part of a bet, to see who could stand being around him the most. Batman declined to enter, competing would require listening to him. J’onn folded first, his mind is worse than his speech. Next was Diana, it was the 40’s and he wasn’t particularly kind. Hal thought he could make it as he got similar complaints, this ended in Hal becoming a much less annoying person. Flash and Superman tied for next, even at super speed it’s hard to ignore him. Aquaman won, largely because fish are far more incepted than Snapper, but it still grated on him.
I love this version
Rick Jones' greatest quality is that he is not Snapper Carr. And we are all thankful for that.
At the time, they were pretty much the same personality-wise, but Rick DIDN'T have the annoying finger snapping. He ALSO had a purpose in helping keep Bruce's secret, along with having the guilt of his stupidity causing the problem. Snapper was pretty useless since it wasn't believable from him to do anything with 5-7 superheroes around.

Starro is a pretty terrifying concept if you think about it... He's downright Lovecraftian...
That's what I love about him. Just funny enough to be allowed in kids media, but also scary enough that you can play pretty well in the abject horror category
He comes close. Marvel would later go full Lovecraftian with Shuma-Gorath.
James Gunn’s Suicide Squad movie does something like that with the character.

Also, considering one of Batman’s regular villains is plant-based, a gardener would be much more useful to have around than Snapper.
The next TGWTG movie is the double wedding of Linkara and the Cinema Snob, and it's a parody of Peter Parker's wedding

I think it's a shame DC decided to go with Steppenwolf for the first Justice League movie and not Starro. I mean, say what you want about it being goofy, but there's something really creepy about a car-sized alien starfish with the ability to fly, control people's minds, absorb energy, shoot lasers and possessing super strength.
Starro would work a lot better in a sequel. One of those completely out of left field villains audiences wouldn't expect. It would be a good way to introduce Martian Manhunter too.

That's not the usual reaction to that scenario.
Honestly I really like Snapper Carr's recent appearances on Supergirl as the Editor in Chief of CatCo. It's not really the same as his original persona at all, but at least he actually contributes.
Also he's called Snapper for his temperment instead of a stupid and annoying character gimmick. Much better.
Young Justice in the 90’s & 2000’s did the character pretty well, I think.

Bombers would do laps up in the arctic (NORAD is actually a joint command with the Royal Canadian Air Force, so no issues on airspace) waiting for the order to strike, the planes would swap out to refuel and give the crews breaks, but I don’t remember much about them parking over the US.
At the time of publishing of the comic, yep they did go that far south. I did look up on Wikipedia to verify it. It would be a few years before the ICBM facilities were operational.
Yeah, a potential nuclear war isn't the sort of thing you can wait to happen with your bombers unloaded on the ground.
Indeed, B-52 would be on constant alert and fly around the globe, during one of such operating, a bomber actually lost its bomb and it crashed into the Garden of some poor dope, thankfully not exploding. The area was however slightly irradiated and earth had to be removed.
There's an unrecoverable nuke somewhere in the Atlantic because of a B-52 crash as well.

Peter the Puffer Fish gets served in a sushi resturaunt in the DC Cinematic Universe, but you only hear his name in the extended edition.
I'd have so much more respect if the DC Cinematic Universe just did a movie where the big villain's Starro. No gritty humanoid character, no big fist fight, just everyone working their asses off to fight a giant, super-powered, goofy, CG flying starfish with mind control and lasers. After everything they've been through with past films, they NEED a super goofy antagonist like that to find awesome ways to go up against.

I loved this comic when I was a child. Sure, then I grew up and saw how truly bonkers it is when I revisited it, but it still has a soft spot in my heart. It's pure, undiluted Silver Age shenanigans, and I'm so here for it. I honestly thought you had already covered it in a past episode.

fun fact about the justice leauges original base, it was actually in the town flash goes to, Happy Harbor, as established in Young Justice (the cartoon) and i love how its a secret base everybody knows, but since they have the hall of justice and the watchtower, its basically hiding a base in plain sight
For what little it's worth, Snapper did eventually acquire superpowers during the Invasion meta-event, when the Dominators were screwing around with the meta-gene. He got the ability to teleport, but of course, he had to snap his fingers to do so.
+Linkara; Yes. the US military does transport nuclear weapons between bases using bombers on ocasion, but that's a mostly outdated practice due to a few accidents which nearly well, you know. These days they use C-130 cargo planes for that, or special semi-trucks which are designed to kill anyone other than the authorized driver who gets into the driver's seat, and self destruct if removed from the pre-planned route (yes, really! It's actually that much like a James Bond movie. While they still SOMETIMES will use a bomber to transport a nuiclear device, that would only be in the case of "We need this here yesterday and no cargo plane is in range", and in such cases, the Bombay doors are usually bolted shut.
Source - Me, an Airforce Brat who grew up on a nuclear weapon storing Airforce Base.

Batman has a white stripe on his mask for the same reason Green Lantern and (to a lesser extent) the Flash: the coloring process was imprecise.
With so many fish in the sea, there are probably lots of Peter the Puffer Fish. Some of them aren't even puffer fish. That can get a little confusing, though.
As this was Silver Age Steve, she was right not to be that into him. Golden Age Steve is the best.
That Flash vs. the Tornado trick is classic.
If bombers didn't fly around with nuclear weapons, the movie Broken Arrow could never have worked!
"Hall of Science" in English could be translation convention, since Wonder Woman picks up languages like other people pick up lint, and Martian Manhunter can read minds, so he'd know what the words mean.

11:28 Yes, it WAS common for certain US bombers at the time to routinely carry nuclear bombs with them over US soil.
The idea of the MAD (Mutual Assured Destruction) nuclear policy is that neither side would be able to completely wipe out the other's nuclear capability in a single strike or attack. Hence, it would deter first-strike strategies as a retaliation strike would always be assured.
One way to do this was to keep nuclear missiles constantly aboard hard-to track submarines, but the OTHER major way to do this was at the time to keep nuclear bombs constantly shuffling between long-range bombers, a significant fraction of which were always in the air. So while this seems kind of crazy in our world, back in 1960, the practice made perfect (if horrifying) sense.
RE: Atomic bombs. Yes, they do (or at least did) keep a fleet of bomber loaded with nukes flying around, in case of a nuclear war they could immediately respond or some such.
Fourze is a real good season and the final few episodes if you kept up legit bring tears.
