  • Dire Miralis isn't really that difficult, but ends up being a very annoying monster for a multitude of reasons. Farming Hellwings and Immortal Hearts is just... something else.
    I go over a lot of the helpful mechanics in the video. Miralis is extremely weak to Dragon element, so going heavy on elemental is pretty decent in this fight. I noticed that my dragon sns had an easier time breaking all the cores, while GS had the raw damage to kill him faster but was more likely to kill him before breaking everything.
    De-powering wings before being able to break a shoulder is pretty aids, especially because you can easily miss your timing by sending him into armor mode. Apparently the arms can also be hit to de-power the wings but they're hard enough to hit consistently.
    Overall, Miralis is cool for its mechanics and interactivity, but it's a shame they're attached to such an annoying monster (a Fatalis clone at that). Its only real saving grace is that it takes less time to kill than the superboss monsters in 4U if you know what you're doing.

      Dire miralis is a very interesting take on Fatalis and is a lot more fair in a lot of ways. I'm a little sad we probably won't see it again since it needs underwater to really function.

    Any particular reason you chose SNS given how much is falls off underwater? Just like the weapon?

    • @mugwort1

      No particular reason, I just like this set. The only other weapon I play in 3U is GS and I like it even less underwater.

      I don't personally agree that the sns sucks underwater, while there is some flaws in the form of less dps the underwater sns does compensate with some of its strengths
      1. While im not sure if it gets an increase in raw it certainly deals more KO damage underwater, you can stun monsters much more easily in 5 to 6 hits
      2. Items like regular bounce bombs now work as long range projectiles underwater while also having the properties of a sonic bomb (useful since sonic bombs can easily flinch monsters underwater) with this in mind the sns gets both increase range and the ability to stop almost any monsters in its tracks, yes, including a lagiacrus fully charge shockwave
      3. Lastly a underrated aspect of the sns that i dont see much people talking about is the ability to do a double roll, this is already useful on land but specially strong underwater where you can dodge now upwards or downwards basically increasing your mobility.
      Out of all the changes that ive mention, the regular bounce bomb is probably the game changer for the underwater sns, being able to constantly keep the offensive from both up close and far away while also being able to easily interrupt any sorft of attacks its something only a few weapons could say they can do properly underwater

    Isn't the final level of divine exodus better than the S.Zino sns?

    • @mugwort1
      @mugwort1  2 года назад +4

      It could very well be since it has tons of dragon element, but since Dire Miralis' hitzones are still a bit of a mystery I'm not sure if it would pull ahead of losing 100 raw.

    Can you recommend me some Set for G Rank SnS im struggling to find the right combo

    • @mugwort1
      @mugwort1  2 года назад +1

      Something similar to what I have on in the video is pretty decent. Sharpness+1 on weapons that can reach purple sharpness and Awaken on weapons with hidden element are probably the two skills to aim for. You can also look up Athena's Armor Set Search for MH3U which is a huge help in putting together sets for specific weapons.
      The goldbeard helmet is a good, flexible piece to keep on hand with a lot of slots if you're going for sharpness+1. Same with duramboros waist and its points in free element. Artian greaves have 3 handicraft and 5 free element, so they're a must-have for sns in that situation. The rest you can fill in with your charm and gems, and get attack up S or M if possible (or another damage skill if you prefer).

    • @mugwort1
      @mugwort1  2 года назад +1

      Also you might want to go for razor sharp on weapons that don't have a lot of natural white or can't reach purple. You can make a pretty nice set with g-rank Gigginox armor if you're using status sns and need to awaken it.

      @@mugwort1 i see, but isn't Mind's eye and Evasion can be helpful in g rank nowadays? especially how tough these monsters and also because im not like those Elite type of hunters so thats why i have these skills also with me

    • @mugwort1
      @mugwort1  2 года назад +2

      @@redbunn2282 Evasion CAN take you far with sns, but this is 3rd gen and there really is very little room for many skills especially for solo hunters.
      Evasion+1 can be slotted pretty well along with sharpness+1 and awaken and I can see it being worth it, but you're giving up 10-15 raw if you're choosing that over attack up. Remember, shorter hunts also mean less room for mistakes.
      Mind's eye is very difficult to slot in comparison to evasion so I don't recommend that. It has uses in 3rd gen especially against Uragaan and Glacial Agnaktor, but in most cases you can emphasize staying at a higher sharpness grade with either sharpness+1, razor sharp, or speed sharpening against most other monsters. I'm pretty sure I wasn't bouncing off of Uragaan's chin at purple sharpness with Master Odyssey, which is the water sns I preferred using.
