Hehe, i can feel you. Riding with skilled people on a crazy trail and pretend everything is fine but you already crapped yourself badly :D But you know what, leaving your comfort zone is what makes you better. I just love you watching "force" yourself to do it in a healthy manner! Very well played dear Eric! Btw, B.C. in fall colors is the most beautiful sight ever!
This is one of my favorite mtb videos on RUclips, bar none, Eric. I think you are such a core skilled rider with the guts to show vulnerability. Funny and humble too. Stay safe, my friend and kio skete, neh?
Great video. That crew at the entrance was concerned in a kind of funny way "Are they sandbagging you here?" and yet so supportive/encouraging too. I don't think I could handle doing a new-to-me scary entrance like that in front of a crowd.
Wow! That was freaking awesome! With the perfect soundtrack. I was on the edge of my seat lol. Really reminded me of having my stomach in knots just on the car ride to a daunting (to me) trail. Such a huge mental factor to this sport! So cool to hear you kinda hesitating a bit then riding through the fear/anxiety. Well played!
You have to be one of the bravest riders around, going with the builder who knows that trail inside and out and you kept up!!! Great video. We could feel the fear.
Thanks for sharing that Eric. You really highlighted a lot of the mental struggle that goes into riding trails at your limit. Mental Mastery +1. Grats!
Eric,I've noticed a few times that when you ride with pro's,or you ride a trail thats deemed a pro line, you appear to get inside your own head and psych yourself out.you're more than capable of nailing majority of that stuff with ease! Videos are great by the way,the last few months has been full of awesome content!
@@BCpov definitely bud! I'd like to see you have another crack at that secret trail you rode with (matt beer I think?!) I think a second run at that would be awesome at some point You definitely need to work on your trail noises though,Yuka has you nailed on that front! :)
Haha, Eric I love your honesty... I would be crapping my pants down the loose, steep shale... just gnarly! And love the sound of the earth crumbling beneath the tires, very confidence inspiring!
BC You're better than you realize. Let go of the brake and enjoy the rush. You handled a hard trail very well. I'm 62 and I've been riding mountain bikes since 1991. Never let an opportunity pass where you can make a memory. The harder stuff you ride, the better you will be. My knees are done so downhill is the easiest riding for me but I still ride a Y-33 around the neighborhood trails. One day you physically won't be able to ride. It's better to stop that way than to lay your bike down and wish you hadn't. So always ride. Peace and enjoy the sport.
I'm just catching up...This is an awesome edit Eric..!!! Really happy you recovered from a rough cold start. Your riding was legit...! And your excitement made it even more fun...! Loving the content more and more...keep up the great work.!!!
man, I'm a local and can ride pretty much everything else in Fernie. Headed up to Diggler this summer and got a major reality check on what a pro-line is! Sick video!
I keep revisiting this video. It’s so beast man 😎. Derek is one cool dude too. The whole vibe you set with the music and editing, really awesome. Just something about your work 👍
Top riding Eric ! I've been to fernie a few times but in the winter the skiing is awesome!! I passed out as a Canadian ski instructor there. The place is so cool without trying to be cool ! If you know what I mean, people are so genuine lovely, my favourite place to be !! One of your best vids yet !!! & You have so many !!!! 🤘😎👍🌲🌲🌲🏞️🌲🌲🚵🌲
Just by the number that trail sounds awesome. We've got trails with a similar or even steeper average gradient around here, but nothing that averages so steep over such a distance. Our biggest descent over multiple trails is only just 1200m. Gotta make a summer time trip to Canada one day.
The GoPro effect really made that look soooo much easier. God, I wish there was a better way to capture the trail. I could tell you were nervous and from watching your other videos I knew it must have been ridiculous. Good job dude! I liked all the music you added. Great job editing that in there.
Even with the GoPro Effect on full display here that trail looks steep as hell... and loose to boot! Crazy man, great riding. I can also guarantee my 'trail speed' would not be enough for that double.
Eric, you have been an awesome inspiration to everyone out there and you are my fav youtuber. But honestly whats with the can of beer in the drivers hand driving in the beginning. =(
Nice work Eric!!! Next time you do stuff like this, can you take photos at the base of the crazy drops with your phone so we can see it without the GoPro effect??
When you see the other riders who are good riders wearing chest/back protection you kind of know it’s not going to be an easy ride, that’s what goes through my mind, good on you for sticking it out on that one 🤪👍
Great video and subscribed. Amazing trail having ridden it and shows the fun and support that we get from strangers as mountain bikers. Keep up the great work - if my videos come out half as good as yours I'll be stoked. Nice job.
Heading there today!
And I was back at the hotel, eating Mr.Noodles and watching cable TV. I'm still happy with my choice... Sick riding Eric!
Haha, nice 😁
Eric, harder than other "hardest trail in the world" video??? Still waiting for you to go back and conquer that one!!!! LOL

So fun, right? At least once you drop in, haha!
It gets easier from there..... Sort of. Fernie is dope.

When the locals have body armour and you have a t shirt....
