Blow Me Away is an overused song for Halo music videos. But with the Master Chief Collection and Halo 2 Anniversary announced, it gave me an excuse to do my own take on the definitive Blow Me Away Halo music video. Due to the light nature of the song, I chose a style over substance approach for this one.
Since this song has been done to death, I had to do something different to differentiate my video from the others. The title and of course the video itself. I tried to make it as different from the other Blow Me Away videos as possible.

THE REQUEST:
"Could you make a Halo Music Video using "Blow Me Away" by Breaking Benjamin? On the line "DON'T MAKE ME MAD", it should have the scene in Halo 4 when Cortana gets pissed at the Commander. At end of the guitar solo, add the scene when Chief blows up the Didact with the bomb. On the last "Bring me to heaven when we die" - Add Cortana's death. On "I'll be the one to save" add quick shots of main Halo characters (ie. Noble Six, Rookie, and Arbiter) and on the last "us all" add the Halo 5 trailer when John looks up on the giant Forerunner... thing."

You really are a really unqie Halo Music Video maker(and my absolute favorite)! This video really nailed my imagination! I almost cried (honestly Haha)! And yes, I held my close friend's letter and pretended to be John-117 in the Halo 5 trailer at the end (so I can really relate to him). This video is going in my Beast Music Videos Playlist as the #1! Master Chief will be "the one to save us all" when Halo 5 comes out haha! :)
Thank you! I finished it and thought it was disappointing, personally. Good that it wasn't. I had to make sure I separated myself from the other Blow Me Away videos, and apparently, I did. This is my take on my idea of the "definitive" Blow Me Away music video.
But Blow Me Away isn't exactly the most emotional song, so there's that. I like it when music videos can actually tell a story well and have emotion. But here, it's more of an action montage with little story bits here and there to squeeze as much substance as possible. Blow Me Away was quite difficult to work with.
+UncookedMoa Blow Me Away does tell a clear story, it's depicting an unfolding combat situation. The song includes combat-related emotions such as tension, fear, adrenaline rushes as well as the hatred one forces upon themselves to be able to kill enemy soldiers. The song should be mostly paired with gritty Halo combat imagery.
I gotta hand it to you, I have been playing for 13 years, a fan of all the different machinimas and different types of media that came out during halo 3's time, especially these blow me away videos, and you honestly toped all of them. and here I thought the Halo community was dying off, lol glad to see im not alone! great job
I mean, how can you blame it for being overused? Halo 2 just had some of the best songs in the series.
This song has sentimental value to me, my brother and I used to play this game religiously when I was really young. Any time I’d cry he’d just play this song.

Thanks. But it doesn't really compare with the transitions you have in your "Monster" and "Can't Trust Anybody Now" music videos. What software do you use, by the way? I really like how clean your videos are. You're my favorite Halo music video creator.
Also, I noticed you're getting custom thumbnails. So you've become a RUclips partner? But wouldn't you need to monetize, which would get rid of the music videos?
UncookedMoa I use WMM, nothing really special but I do have some custom effects and transitions from Blaine that help a lot.
As for the custom thumbnails, you actually don't need to monetize. All you need to do is verify your account and then the feature is unlocked
SpectreGray WMM? As in Windows Movie Maker? You make some of the best Halo music videos and all you use is Movie Maker? Impossible...I can't imagine anything on that level with that software. I never heard of Blaine's effects and transitions before, though.
UncookedMoa Believe it or not. Windows movie maker is all I use. Just ask Fu11Meta1Spartan, as simple as the program is, it can still be effective in the right hands
SpectreGray Well, I can believe Fu11Meta1Spartan using Movie Maker.
But your music videos with the semi-transparent cutscenes overlayed on top of another cutscene and the transitions you use make it hard to believe it's just Movie Maker.
Also, Movie Maker crashed quite a lot in my experience of using it in the past. So it's quite frustrating to lose all that work
Very, very well done! Timing with the song was fantastic and the fact that you based the clips around what was being sung made it that much better! I'm currently working on a GTA V Online project set to "Blow Me Away" using the Rockstar Editor. I was just browsing trying to see if anyone else did the song justice by mashing it with Halo as well as I hoped someone would someday, you delivered, my friend!

Very nice. Though, I doubt I can edit like that. And while Blow Me Away has been overused, it's still a good song. I may make a similar video at some point - perhaps after the MC Collection is finally out. We'll see.
