- We leave Teklanika Campground and Denali National Park behind and head south towards Anchorage and as we near the town of Talkeetna we find a great boondocking location on the banks of the Susitna River. While parked for free over the weekend we find lots to do in the area with a Live at Five event in Talkeetna and a Fireweed Festival in Trapper Creek and then we take a ride aboard the Talkeetna Queen with Mahays Jet Boat Adventures to an Athabascan Fish Camp. (Season 2 - Episode 40)

Talkeetna was our favorite spot when we did our road trip last year!!!
We really enjoyed our time there as well.

Yes!!! I bought 3 more jars on our southbound journey to tide me over until next summer. 🤣
Hi guys we have been following you guys since the beginning my husband was station in Alaska for many years and I had visit it more than once, you guys brought us a lot of memories. Thanks can't wait to miss you both when you visit Florida let us know. Happy Travel.
We hope to be in Florida next winter (2018-19) when we work our way down the East Coast.
I had a chance to go to the Talkeetna Moose Dropping Festival back 1995. I think I still have some Moose Dropping Poopourri.
That was an awesome transition from parking the RV to Tequila! And the Firewater fest to the Jet boat, too :)
Nothing like a little time warp. Haha
what advice can you offer for finding boondocking locations? you have found some great spots.
Just love your adventures. Could not help but laugh when Gary gave a thumbs up and a burp for the beer 🍻
Thank you so much for sharing. I know it's a lot of effort to produce these videos. So once again thank you.
What are the "gun fees" about?
Love the 2 thumbs up and belch rating!! That is often how I rate beers as well, LOL.
I would normally edit that out but we felt it was fitting. One day I will be able to do an entire belch video as Gary LOVES to burp on camera at any chance he can get.
@@RVingtoAlaska Please don't edit them out. We need random laughter in our lives.
I didn't like Talkeetna at all, way to many people and the city campground was awful.
This is why we stayed on the Susitna River bank just north of the spur road. Less crowds and amazing waterfront property for free!
