Thanks for sharing your Wyrmspan strategies! As someone who was present during much of the design and development process, I can say that similar to your videos on Apiary, you capture a lot of the considerations and math that Connie had in designing the game. Obviously people compare this game to Wingspan most frequently, but for people that have played Apiary they should be able to pick up on some similar themes: a focus on assembling combinations and tactical decisions that vary from game to game.
Thank you, that means a lot coming from you. I'm a huge fan of Connie's work, and I can see her fingerprints on this game. It also brings forward many ideas and the positive/friendly vibe of Wingspan.
This was a fantastic video and one of the most informative and straight to the point game strategy explainers I've ever watched. Keep up the amazing work!!!
I was getting increasingly worried the first time i played the game since i had less dragons then my opponents in the caves. theres where full at the end of the game while i had 3 open spots left. I also seemed to burn trough my coins quicker while at one point when i was out my opponent still had 4. Yet i still ended up winning because of eggs and point value of dragons. mine where all 5-7 points where they had a lot of lower end dragons. and i got 21 points for eggs + a dragon that gave me an extra point for each 2 eggs i had. 99 points for my first game! against 92 and 93 ^^ Overall i really enjoy how simple yet deep the game is
Nice video, just bought the game recently as we were out on a family weekend. played 2 games with my gf and father in law managed to win both taking into account that none of us are experienced boardgamers. scored 88 in the first and 110 in the second game right away. I do tend to prioritise the yellow cave and partially skip the purple cave trying to fix the missing caves with an abbundance of choice within dragons and progressing the dragonguild. What would your take be on this?
I'm assuming you're talking about the beginning of the third example at about 9:44. If so, the text of Ancient Whiskered Lung Dragon contains a when-played ability that says pay one and gain 3 movements on the dragon guild. I wonder if you are watching on a phone and can't read the text. If so, sorry about that. If you have a bigger screen, it's easier.

@@MathewCrichton Thanks
This helped me get a high score of 116 vs. Automa Lvl 3! It felt great pulling off some long combos several times during the game. Thank you.
That's a really great score against the Automa at Level 3!
Love this video! Solid advice, nice structure, pleasant voice, entertaining host )
Thanks you for this video. Its easy to follow, to the point, and illustrated well what you explain!
Thanks

7:25 you excavate, and get a new cave card. Can you always grab a new card when you spend one or did you have a special ability?
Looks like that cave had the when played gain cave card
4:57 Camera position - It's uncomfortable to constantly turn your head when watching a video to read the card text.
@@meta-m1 Noted.
How come you moved 3 spaces at once ok the guild?

when 83 was referenced as low scoring... that hit hard. I think I got like 53 points my first and only game.
Great video but examples went way too fast and need more explanation for a noob!
Noted! It's hard to keep the length reasonable and say all the things I want to cover, but I hear you.
I got 101 but automa got 124 😂😂
