Tremendous video. just one beautiful passenger train. Thanks for sharing. Dave
I appreciate your comments, Dave ....... thanks much for watching! Mike
Beautifully done and you have your decoders dialled in perfectly! A pleasure to watch!
Cheers Gregg.
Greetings Gregg - Thank you very much for watching the video and I appreciate your comments. Mike
Impressive trains, loco, sound, scenery and layout. Well done
Thank you very much! Mike
I really enjoyed seeing the local doing some switching at the industries and towns along the line. The locomotives sound great and I liked hearing the brake application as the engineer eased to a stop. I always enjoy seeing videos of trains operating on your layout.-Tom
Your comments are always appreciated, Tom. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch the video. Mike
The intensity of the engine sounds makes me feel as if I'm on duty working that local. The sound was so rich i switched from desktop speakers to the headphones to hear the exhaust notes better. Job well done. Railroader approved.
I really appreciate your nice comments about the video. Thanks so much for watching! Mike
Nice videography, especially the SLOOOOW pan IN the direction of train travel!
Thank you very much for your comment. It’s good to know that some viewers appreciate the videography. Mike
I love the sounds that you reproduced in this video. The 567 engine made a distinct sound that was more raspy whirring and adjusted RPM faster then the newer 645 normally aspirated engine. The cast iron brakes made a distinct squealing when the locomotive brakes were applied. When I first started on the Missouri Pacific in Wichita, Kansas, the GP7's and GP9's were the dominant locomotives for the area. Since Wichita was a branch line hub, all of the older low horsepower locomotives were sent there and they were well suited for the local switching tasks.
Hi Kevin - I've always liked the sound of the 567 prime mover, especially when in transition. As always, thanks much for watching the video and for your comments. Mike
Exelent layout and models!
Thank you very much! Mike
Your storage must be as big as your staging for all that detour power that shows up. Excellent video as always
Thanks so much for watching and for your comments. Mike
More passengers! I'm not sure what to make of the route of your imaginary detour (What, bypass Milwaukee?), but I love the video! Growing up northwest of Chicago I saw plenty of Milwaukee Road trains and the often eclectic consists that pulled them. In the 1970s my dad would take me railfanning at Milwaukee's Bensenville yard, which was easily seen from the parallel Green Street. Heck, the diesel house was right on the curb! You couldn't ask for a better location. Lots of fond memories. I always appreciate your videos Mike!
The Morning and Afternoon Hiawathas actually did detour over the Portage-Madison-Janesville-Rondout secondary line in the 1960's due to derailments on the main line between Milwaukee and Portage. It sounds like you had some great experiences railfanning the Milwaukee Road at a time when it looked reasonably viable. You're right about the eclectic consists ........ the Milwaukee Road was a fun railroad to watch. Thank you very much for watching and I appreciate your comments! Mike
darned nice work!
Thank you, Gary ........ I appreciate your comment! Mike
great railroad layout, trains and video work
Thank you for your nice comments which I appreciate. Mike
I love your use of Fallflag railroad Freight cars and Locomotives
Thanks so much. I have always appreciated the fallen flag railroads. Mike
Bravo! Great action! The sound from the local was incredible, especially at low speed and idle. Great weathering.
I'm guessing the DSDX/MILW reefer in front of the caboose was carrying the beer that made Milwaukee famous? If so, might have been forwarded from me...lol... John
Hi John - Yes sir ..... that DSDX reefer is loaded with beer from Milwaukee headed to Janesville. I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video and thank you for your comments. Mike
You have great trains man. You a good trains and have great cars. With beer boxcar.
Thank you very much! Mike
Love the Milwaukee Road.........Mike your layout is almost as neat, as your gift for making videos as well as you do, Thank's for the talent Sir!
Hi Chad - I really appreciate your kind comments and thanks so much for watching the video! Mike
Aw yes, the orange road! Very nice, Mike.
Hi Big Steve - I appreciate you watching the video and thanks much for your comments. Mike
Another gem! I’m a bit biased, since the majority of the video is Milw. Keep up the great work, my favorite shot was when we got a look back at the train, on the fly.
Hi William - Gotta love the Milwaukee Road! I've found the GOPRO Hero4 camera to be a handy way to capture look-back views of trains as they make their way around the layout. Thank you very much for watching and commenting! Mike
Thank you for sharing. So much attention to detail, one fine layout. Always a pleasure to watch.
Hi Gary - Thanks so much and take care! Mike
Wow i love your Milwaukee rollingstock and switching moves!!! Its hard to just watch and not want to jump into my layout room(garage)
I appreciate your comments and thank you for watching. Good luck with your modeling! Mike
Nicest layout I've seen on RUclips
You're much too kind ..... thank you very much for your comment/compliment! Mike
8:58 This is Union Pacific mixed with Hiwatha.
As always you can add any railroad to your layout and make the whole thing seem so real. Another great video. Keep them coming.
Thanks so much, Todd, I very much appreciate your comments. Mike
Your layout looks great! All aspects done very well!
What track and turnouts are you using?
Hi Todd - The main line is primarily built with Micro-Engineering code 83 flex track and Walthers turnouts. I used some Atlas code 83 in a couple main line locations and Atlas code 100 in the two helix's (helii) and in the staging yard. Non-main line track consists of mostly Micro-Engineering code 70 flex track with some code 55. Non-main line turnouts are Micro-Engineering. Thank you for watching and for your comments! Mike
Mike, Awesome content!! You always hit it out the park!
#5 was cool, especially with round windows on the cars. Weren’t those just for vestibules? I am not passenger guy, so I don’t know.
Next RR on deck,, SOO LINE!!
rock on!!
Hi Wyatt - The port hole windows were a Milwaukee Road passenger car trademark. They were used on some vestibules and on baggage car doors, as well I believe, on possibly restroom windows. Anyway, they were certainly unique. As much as I appreciate the SOO Line you'd think that I'd acquire more SOO power and rolling stock ....... well, you just never know! Thanks for your comments. Mike
Nice video.

Thank you very much for watching, commenting and subscribing! Mike
How did you get the gyralight function into the skytop? I'm dissatisfied with the effect I've gotten from a decoder.
Hi Hans - I used a Mars light simulator offered by Ngineering (Item N8031). Thank you for watching the video. Mike
@@rimodeler7963 Thanks for the Info,I'll have to give it a shot. The digitrax tf4 version of a Mars light leaves a lot to be desired...
