Where to start..... well the "now he tells me"... was fun Honestly I was getting stressed watching this, we’ve had many similar performances and it brings it right back! The gentle bickering dappled with the odd “babe” does the trick.. How to shout full of love eh! Rock/back mooring - the captain (not me!) forgot to check the anchor had bitten then proceeded to spend an hour with the anchor and 50M of chain in the dinghy trying to drive in a straight line to drop.. of course he wouldn’t agree it was impossible…. Eventually he did! I was stuck on the helm, wind blowing us into the rock behind us and the boat to our port… thank god for bow thrusters.. of course he had tied back already so I was completely stuck.. We left head down never to return… Such a refreshing video, completely raw, relatable and real .. thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it. We’ve always wanted to show the real life and not sugar coat it, but I have to say I was a bit nervous about posting this one because of the screaming… I cut out a few of the screams because the video would have been way too long, with too much yelling at each other. So many F bombs were cut out.
Imagine well over and hour of panic and yelling… it was a rough one, for sure. I had to cut most of it out… we’ve learned a lot since that day… about boat handling and about communicating with each other in a better way….
@@sailingokaliptus Tom Cunliff has a good video on crew communications. Also, I sail solo, so I yell at my boat, Bunnymonster you are being obtuse!. One thing I learned from racing, communication is short, terse, and goal-oriented. Also, best to talk it all through before a complex manoeuver is about to be under taken, just to be sure of roles and sequences. You did great, sorry it was so stressful.
Practice makes perfect never nice to get the line caught. Oh the stress but your still together team work makes the dream work.
We’ve a come a long way with our communication skills, that’s for damn sure!
I was having a heart attack for you just now 😰 glad you were able to free the line and get that engine going!
It was pretty freaking scary!
