man!!! you guys are having a blast while working!!!!!! that's great life right there :)
I really wish you would do your demo's with a direct signal rather than a mic'd amp... I don't care about the Trickfish. (no offense Trickfish) It just sounds like there's a blanket over it in my Bose headset...
Fianlly someone said it.. and others liked (i assume agreed to it).. I thought I was the only one
Yeah these demos are actually pretty useless.
Appreciate the feedback!
@@Foderaguitars I appreciate you paying attention... :)
I think most of these tones would sound great in the context of a mix…
Low end sounds huge, and I can hear those complex midrange characters, but the video makes the bass sound muffled or veiled in the high mids/treble. I would love to hear it in DI.
The neck pick Up sound is absolutely amazing!!!
The pickup placement reminds of the FNA Jazzman from Warwick
I'm glad to see you guys differentiating the Standard and seeking a younger audience. Now if you only offered a three pickup option in the customs, I might get another one!
Three pickups is doable :)
They've done 3 pickup options before! 👍🏼
Beautiful instrument, but for me the overall sound needs more brightness. I wonder if it will “cut through” in a band setting.
Yep, sounded quite dark and dull to me
U cant go wrong with a fodera the workmanshup the heart love and passion they put in to this beautiful instrument they make all hand carve its a masterpiece
Great bass. My opinion, Mike your playing and technique would make any bass sound great. Thank you for this great review. Amazing bass
Sounds perfect to me. Ready for recording and would sound perfect with a band setup. The direct line signal may sound more bright but also clicky,
Its very even an full in a tones and great bassplaying by Mike 💪
Hey, team Fodera, what's up? So, I've been reading the comments here and it seems like a lot of people are having the same issue as me: the sound is muffled and doesn't really change much when you switch pickups or tones. I think the problem is with the post-production mixing. Microphones just can't seem to accurately capture the sound that we hear in the room. So, I would suggest either doing a better job of mixing the bass or isolating the amplifier in a separate room and then cutting the bass in the recorded sound.
I know you guys build some of the most amazing instruments out there (I used to have an Emperor and I still regret selling it to this day), so I hope you can figure this out. Good luck!
i love mine fodera i have plays soo good my favorite
That Jaco lick tho'!!!
Is there a muffling happening to the recording of the bass? It sounds like it’s not coming through the recording clearly…
How about just that bridge pickup in that very location passive only on a four string? That would probably be the P-E-R-F-E-C-T bass for me.
Like a passive Stingray, you should check the Musicman Joe Dart bass
Nice bass, but the tone sounds a bit muffled.
Ah..ok...I'm not the only one!
Its so beautiful. The Hermes of luxury bass guitars.
Just got ying Yang standard amazed how nice it is.. totally worth it
That Sean Wayland album is great. Tim Lefebvre is killin! Bass sounds amazing!!
💯
Either something is off with the recording or the bass sounds very very dark.
I've always wanted to play one see what there like it's one of my life goals to try one and play it well
"R TYPE" intro
I want that bass!
Absolutely beautiful basses but I think if I wanted to fretless I would like to have a wal mk1....
Yeah, this recording makes this bass sound like a $200 base
The Bass in your voice is worth more than the Bass in your hands
Beautiful looking bass, but if only the bridge pickup was closer to the bridge cause bass , for me, needs more defined and brighter tone. I would buy it if I won the lottery . 19mm is nice string spacing, I am the one who prefers 18mm, but if offered 16 or 19, I would choose 19
It sounded dark because of how they recorded it, by micing the amp instead of using the direct signal from the bass to the recording interface. IMO the pickups are where they should be, the bridge pup is at the same spot where the musicman basses have theirs, and those basses are very bright sounding.
Fodera goes Lakland ??? But wouldn’t an Ash been better for this combo ? Sounds pretty dark in every scene
RUclips compression. In person, its a total tonal mac truck :)
Had John Wetton played that instrument it could be renamed "flying brick wall" instead of brickhouse.
Thanks for just using the B & E strings for this glorious presentation. Job well done! 👌👍! Where did they find this guy?! 🤔
Oh I’ve been waiting for a pip combo like this on Fodera!!!! A lil further away for the bridge vs the MM sweet spot I love this!!!!!! I was hoping to hear some more still
Like them
Last couple of notes that were played, with treble boosted and bass at lie detent I wanna hear her wide open, Rage against the machine first album stuff!!!
Good. BUT sound is MUD, no brightness. High frequency available just with distortion. Probably recording from speaker by microphone is not good idea in this DEMO situation?
Man, sounds so muffled and flat no matter how you set it.
Personally think the Laklands spank this bass by a wide margin. And for $2600 less
Would love direct signal for sound tests, this all sounds the same through a mic'd amp :( especially when playing so soft
MM and precision 2 in 1.
That sounds better than the neck-through, though that isn't surprising. Still, a little muddy, which is indicative of Fodera's. Nice playing though.
put the bridge pickup closer to the bridge. all maple. neck through. ,ebony fret board. stainless frets. 3 concentric knobs. vol/vol. bass/treb. mids/frequency.
I thought the same thing. Give the bridge pickup more burp and bite closer to the bridge.
@@joffyjazz i have a carvin bb76 humbucker close to the bridge. sounds awesome. gotta get a new preamp though. have a good day.
бубнит знатно...)

I was sitting here saying I hope they throw some distortion in there.
I heard a lot or bass from thé speaker or my jaguar but i think sh's lost on the mix with a band
Слишком мягкий звук не хватает атаки слишком задемпфирован. Возможно стоит подвинуть бриджевый звукосниматель ближе к основанию.
I've got headphones on and there is F all difference in the sounds. Everyone you changed, it sounded the same. Muffled
Kinda disappointed in the demo, you say in the beginning it's even great for rock and metal tones, but you show it off only once by running it through an alpha omega, the pedal that makes an upright bass sound killer for metal, completly neglecting the dry sound of the bass
Bridge pickup too far forward, imho.
For how much these cost they better toot my flute...
Nonsense for me...no versatility, no definition...maybe a classic Music Man configuration with the only humbucker...
maybe let's listen to the entire sound not only the low end.. nobody would ever play like that in a band.. sorry I don't understand...
The amp is not very good. The bass has lots of mud in each EQ setting.
Mike, seriously, find someone better to do your sound on these demos man. I legit have heard $200 ibanezes that sound better in demos on this site.
This is Fodera.
we want to hear Fodera sound.
This literally sounds like we're listening through a NYC apartment wall....
you guys aren't seriously still advertising "tone wood", are you?
I'm so disappointed these basses have a string tree....
Sounds muddy
