  • This selection from a performance with Sasha Lurje entitled Waiting for the Nightingale, features klezmer (and other) fiddlers Craig Judelman and Michael Alpert performing a form of a doina, or free meter composition followed by a nokhshpil tune of the Freilakhs or Honga dance style, depending how you feel like dancing or who you ask, originally recorded by Leon Ahl probably in Poland around 1910-1914.
