- ACU’s British Extreme Enduro Championship 2022 season debuted with Round 1 Tong with more than 150 competitors including world hard enduro champion Billy Bolt. Heavy rain cold weather made it really hard for everyone but the enthusiasm kept us all warm enough to hang in.
This year’s Tong surprised us with a track update to the conventional one that we knew over the years. With the new format the track got longer with really nice bits but it kept signature sectors like the tricky waterfall.
PM race started 12:30 local time and the challenge continued for two and a half hours. Billy Bolt had a good start and started stretching his lead but early in the race he lost his front brake. He then had to ride cautiously and so Jack Price caught him around the halfway but he managed to bring the victory home.

Some of those small brook crossings were so graceful. Perfect wheelies and then weighing the pegs down so bike lands perfectly, and then pop another one to get over the next jump. Awesome.

I'm surprised at the number of ring dings. I haven't seen a two stroke in North America since the mid 1990'sand can't remember when they were banned.

I felt that 1st fall flat on his back, ouch that would've been a wrap on the day for me.
That whole section makes me think I would have been fine being airlifted to safety..
I know ... I would need a medivac chopper to extract me from my own doings.

Great to see the 2 bangers dominating than those klunky, money pit 4... strokes. Some riders here demonstrating some real skills too which is a nice to see, course looks great.

I rode trials for a few years - a few dozen sections with a nice rest between each. I can’t imagine an actual race around one massive section like this - they must be knackered!!!!!!!

They make it look so easy. For a person that has never rode a dirt bike they would thank this is easy . I know its not. I saw nothing but extremely talented athletes with a lot of guts.
I'm sure a 300cc 2-stroke with FMF Gnarly Torque (with Turbinecore) and SmartCarb SC2 is a killer setup here.

Where I lived in France, the local enduro consisted of thundering down forest lanes and meadows, the occasional hill, and of course a 'verre du vin' every half hour ... Nothing like this!!!
