It's cool whatever it is, but it's very noticeably weaker at low RPM. That will hurt him on more technical courses where you need raw torque at low speeds. That said, most courses I've seen can be beaten with flat out speed, provided the driver has the balls to do it.
This takes a lot of balls and skill. Throttle control and steering skills are key. Super entertaining on screen, I cannot start imagining how it is to see these monsters performimg live. Mind blowing show if you like this kind of thing. Thanks for uploading this.

The hills today are all about suspension setup. You can tell which guys can drive over stuff vs the guys that get their front end kicked straight up.... Of course it requires a crapload of horsepower, too but it doesn't do you any good if you can't keep the tires planted!
Now I don't know about engineering but I do know about physics & gravity. These guy as brilliant as they are, are missing a trick. It's like everyone thinks E=Mc² but it don't. Expand your thinking .... good luck & stay blessed.
As this grows in popularity I bet we see more of these guys higher real drivers instead of trying to wing it! So many big dollar rigs with poor drivers.

I'm sure the frames are modified for this kind of sport, but what kind of quads are these out of factory? Did they just take a Maverick or Wildcat 1000, remove plastics, and weld on additional roll cage?
You can hear the frustration in the revs lol. Pure brute force and when that fails the solution is clearly more brute force, and when that fails and things catch fire it was the machines fault for not having enough brute force.

its all about the physics of the track. You have to use the momentum. Most Drivers dont have any thoughts about that... and some are real idiots...

日本では、こんなことはラジコンカーくらいでしかやらないです。
こうして見ると早く登れる車と登れない車の特徴が良く分かります。
車体が軽い車とエンジンの吹け上りがコース全体で良い車とタイヤの接地面が多くて車体が安定してる車です。
この動画の4:54のドライバーは上手いです、同じコースを走っているとは思えないくらいの安定性です。
ドライバーもコースをしっかりと見ている人が上手く行ってると思います。
日本でもこんな大会があるならば見に行きたいです。
