Riddim remo almost does. They make a practice pad with the remo silent stroke head. I don’t know how great it is though, and it’s pricey for what it is.
I have the moongel and its great because it has almost no bounce so you have to work for every stroke. Its a great work out pad to build strength but you probably wont be able to go as fast as you can on the other pads that have more bounce to them
Remo ... Orchestral Snare Drummers use Remo Practice Pad, and you can change the tension of the drumhead, remo has a real drumhead. Sabian quiet tone has too much rebound and it’ s easier to play than in a real snare drum.
@Dalton, I still use Reflexx pad daily and it's working fine and I don't have a problem with flaking. It doesn't affect the feel at all, at least in my opinion.
Would be great if you could have a calibration tone at a known dB level so people could calibrate their speakers. Plenty of SmartPhone apps can act as dB meters.
What are your pads resting on? It looked like an Aquarian SuperPad for a second. I ask only because how much of what we’re hearing is coming from the drum shell underneath? Great video nonetheless.🔥
Listen to the advice of Will Calhoun and Dennis Chambers: go for the RTom Moongel Workout Pad, or take a pillow! Nothing will help build your muscles and stamina better.
@@CamiloMoyaBaterista the old version of real feel pad, was built with a very special gum rubber after lot of trial and error. they found a exact balance between feel, rebound, and no damage to the wrists. also the quality of the rubber is awesome. more than 20 years and still like new. new pads are made with a blend of chemical silicones with poor quality and excessive rebound.
I have the same practice pad, but I feel a little little air space between the ruber base and the back of the drumhead. Iess of 1 mm. It is minimal, but that affects some precision strokes like press roll. Do you feel the same on your practice pad? may be is normal in these kind of pad.
German, which pad are you talking about? If Sabian, then you can change the new head, maybe the previous is stretched too much? I changed Remo Ambassador for my pad after recording this video.
@@KaitsuDrums i am talking about sabian. my sabian quiet tone, has a little air space that makes the press roll imposibles to do. like "dead zones". do you feel the same?
So the Remo you have chosen it's 8" because of personal choice or it's a better size to practice with, beside the easiest carry on aspect? I'm a total beginner and don't have any idea of which one I should get between the 8" and 10".
Barbara, that Remo pad is my first practice pad and maybe 30 years old :) If you want to have Remo pad I think the size doesn't matter...but it's quite loud...you might want to check out the Remo 08" Practice Pad Silent Stroke which should be lower volume pad. I hope this helped :)
Man, I wish Yamaha made a practice pad with the material they use for electronic drums. It feels heavenly!
Riddim remo almost does. They make a practice pad with the remo silent stroke head. I don’t know how great it is though, and it’s pricey for what it is.
Yeah they do saw one in my drum shop a few years ago
great summary, just what I was looking for thanks! No waffling or subjective opinion, just straight up comparison
Thanks! My current favourites are Reflexx, Aquarian Super Pad and the larger 14" Moongel pad. Vic Firth is good for the bounce and finger technique.
Remo's pad is very good, has an excellent rebound, the only negative point in this pad is the noise

Play anything on the Remo pad at midnight and you’ll wake up the entire block
Yea the remo is loud and my family hates when I play but it the only pad I have
@@boblobgobstopper13214 😂
The sabian one is so satisfying!!!
Really nicely made video, just demonstrating each product. Really helpful !
I love my REFLEXX. It's the best pad out there IMO.
Why?
@@germangismondi944 I ask the same question. It seems it is more hype than anything else. There are plenty of pads with low bounce.
I liked the Sabian quite tone the best.....
It'd either the Real Feel or the Sabian. Thank you for this.
Very nice, love the old school remo pad!Nice video.
Thanks Ruben! That's my first pad and probably 30 years old :) It's also the loudest but feels really nice.

Your doubles are great!
which pad had the most Realistic snare drum head rebound qualities?

Thank you for doing this. How has the material on the reflexx held up? It seems to have already flaked away some, from what I can see.
@Dalton, I still use Reflexx pad daily and it's working fine and I don't have a problem with flaking. It doesn't affect the feel at all, at least in my opinion.
thanks and congrats on 10k!
Thanks Julian!
Reflexx for the win!
Can't go wrong with that :)
So where is Meinl?
This sold me on the reflexx pad. Perfect for not waking the kid up!
My favourite too for the quiet living room practising :)
CAnt find one
only firth and yamaha had real good stick bounce. the others seeemed deadened...slow. and that is why the noise factor is less... which some want
Thanks, great comparison. What can you say about Sabian? Looks like it was the best among all those.
Thanks Brent! I really like the Sabian pad for the natural bounce and ability to play the brushes too.
@@KaitsuDrums thanks!
It's a good ASMR
Hyvä vertailu. Eka pädi (Reflexx CP1) vaikutti hiljaisimmalta, oliko kuulokuvat soittajan pallille samanlaiset?
Kiitos Esa! Kyllä näin on, eli Reflexx padin pehmeä puoli on hiljaisin ja sen jälkeen Moongel pad. Nämä on myös omia suosikkeja :)
Esa: What the hell language is that. Looks amazing!
@@lvvry1855 It's Finnish language, we are both Finnish :)

What excerpt did you use for the reflexx pad as well as for the other ones?
Maybe American grip? I'm not a rudimental technique expert 😀
@@KaitsuDrums Oh sorry I meant like the piece of music you used for the first pad
@@toxi101yt5 It was just something I came up, not from any books.
Where did u get the reflexx pad cuz they’ve been sold out for a while??
I bought it straight from the Reflexx online shop but I checked that at least Thomann has those in stock right now 15.7.2020.
KaitsuDrums thank you!!!
Thomman had them in stock very recently

I had BFSD - Quesadilla cloth head for all the pads except Sabian had nothing. Thank you!
Sounded like the intro to of Rasputin by Boney M
Haha :)
real feel is the best. then, sabian and for last, reflexx
Which has the least rebound? Reflexx or moongel?
Moongel for sure
Is the reflexx or moongel quieter?
Both are really quiet but maybe Moongel is a little bit quieter?
Listen to the advice of Will Calhoun and Dennis Chambers: go for the RTom Moongel Workout Pad, or take a pillow! Nothing will help build your muscles and stamina better.
Two Sound Offs glued together.
real feel old version is the best and destroys all other pads
German Gismondi why bro?
