6 Jodiya Pawa : June 2023

Jodiya-Pawa literally means twin-flutes. Jodiya pawa has a special place in Kutchi folk music. Both the flutes could be of same or different sizes. The one is mada (female) pawa and another is nar (male) pawa. The mada flute creates melody and the nar flute plays the Sa(tonic) of the melody. The amalgamation of Nar and Mada flutes gives Kutchi folk music its rich character.
