I miss your crowdsourced awards. Your followers are a great representation of physical media collectors and it was so cool seeing what they voted for best packaging, boutique label, studio, best audio, best video etc . Understand it’s more work for you but would be a pretty definitive encapsulation of physical media
Technically Lloyd Kaufman didn't do the transfer work on Toxie like you said, it was actually Vinegar Syndrome who did the work for Troma
My favorite random special packaging on a movie is my dvd version of Memento, packed neatly into the main character’s psychological case file. Very eerie and sets the tone for the film. Loved this video!

I had no idea about the Hellraiser box set! I have to check that out. Still counting the days until we get a 4K release of “Trick ‘r’ Treat”! For a horror movie, it’s very colorful and would benefit immensely from HDR.
Yeah I'm not buying the blu ray, because I guarantee the second I get it, someone will announce a 4K! Story of my life 🙄

Cheers and Happy New Year! Great list following a great year in physical media. I've held off on that Possession release (already have Mondo standard BD), as I think I read Second Sight is working on a 4k release. I hope to pick up Lost Picture Show before it's gone.
Great list! My favorite from this past year was the Fifth Element deluxe box set, but the Hellraiser quartet is close!

Turbine's release of The Frighteners was an amazing box set. Really well put together and a great 4K print as well!
Less elaborate, but Second Sight had a few good ones, especially Picnic At Hanging Rock.
Wait, there's a new 4K release of the Frighteners? I had only discovered that movie in 2022.
Folks should grab the Criterion 4K of "Lone Star," amazing film; awesome it's now on 4K.
The Tunnel sounds fantastic! Really curious to check it out.
(And the limited edition is TOTALLY sold out. Not even ONE available on eBay. A set truly made for fans. I'll definitely get the regular version, tho.)

The only one of these I have in my collection is Quartet of Torment. I pre ordered it day one directly from Arrow UK and feel lucky to have it considering the current resale prices. Top notch quality on all four films and the packaging, as we’ve come to expect from Arrow!

That Possession release is beautiful, but man I still love my Mondo release with the beautiful flocked frame box and all the extra goodies....
The Tod Browning set is definitely my highlight of the year for Criterion! Everything about the packaging design is completely on point, and the restorations and scores are great.
Empire of screams was my favorite as well as The House that Screams. Both from Arrow

Great video. Most of those box sets are very pricey though. Ever thought of doing a video of your favorite discs you can often find for around $10.

The US version?? That was horrible imo. Should have matched the steels of 1-6
That IS an excellent film, sure a thrill ride but under appreciated and a release around " Barbenheimer " just killed its box office.
I doubt I will ever understand the WOKE BS and the push to make Barbie some deep film that it Isn't.
As for Mission shame it's like 18 months till part 2.

As far as the steels only seen the horrible red one with train and the other which I think is great The Base jump with bike through the clouds

I received the Lost Films set as part of my VS subscription and I had no time nor desire to watch through them with all the other films last month. I sold it for $80 but it took a while.
Hard Times is my favorite Charles Bronson movie.
That COSA NOSTRA boxset I bought and hated the movies. Lucky I sold on ebay.

Yeah I guess it I wouldn't say I'm a horror fan , but that's just me 🤔, I'm old enough to remember Hellraiser when it came out , and yeah At that age I liked the whole Hell thing the story of the puzzle box.
2nd wasn't bad But after that " Hell on Earth " was dreadful.
I just find a lot of horror dumb although in recent years original ideas have appeared and it's not just SAW 25 😉 or let's do something totally gross and dumb like " Human Centipede".
BUT each to their own,I'm definitely a fan of Supernatural and gothic ghost.
It's all relative some don't mind paying crazy money on a multi limited edition 4k box set for 3 hundred plus.
£40 about the most I've ever paid and although I've got 300 4K I still have 500 blu rays and occasionally buy them if I'm not that into a film. Often the the difference is negligible.
But I hope you enjoy them, yes the art work is beautiful.
And more power to you if you get review samples etc after all most don't realise doing a RUclips channel is hard work and time consuming.
Actually writing this I've noticed you did a Top 4k of 23.
Just meaning Oppenheimer is a physical release but it's on a major label.

Umbrella is way overpriced. And why release special box editions of movies that aren’t well known or isn’t a classic? Yeah I’ve noticed now that physical media is no longer at Best Buy, all physical media is being priced gougingly.
