I remember seeing Walter Rohrl & Christian Geistdorfer in one on the RAC rally, when they put Christian centrally in the back of the car for weight distribution/traction.
Shame that not more of these have survived because they are every bit as good,if not better, than the wall-to-wall Escorts & they did win the WRC 3 times. The big problem,of course,as with most(all!) Italian cars of the time, was that they corroded heroically! This example sounds terrific.
I know escorts of the day rusted but the a 131 at the same time used to rust really bad it must be difficult to get a good body shell nowadays but I can’t wait to see it in action hopefully you will put a entry in for the Galway summer stages will be over spectating for that
@@neviozivkovic4545 So... the engine I seen put in 131 super and Strada Abraths in the late eighties (yes they were rebuilds) which said "Lancia twin cam" right across the rocker cover were not Lancia?
I fitted a 2L 132 engine into my 124 sport, with the Abarth kit, and ran a bearing years later which threw a Conrod Thru the block, I struggled to find another block and a friend sold me a “Lancia” block , essentially identical. Those were “ Lampredi” engines born 1400, evolved to 2L , then modified by Karl Abarth to eventually end up in the Lancia Delta Integrale Evo2 supercharged turbocharged. My humble opinion. I still have my 124 Sport coupe.
in the 70s i bought an orange modified mirafiori for £400 at auction.no m.o.t.rot box but tha fastest street car i've ever driven.the amout of times i lost control and saved it.ffs it was better than sex.ended up selling the engine and box and giving the rest to the scrap man.still kicking myself all these years later.
Adesso ci restano solo i ricordi!!!
One of my favourite rally cars...
That noise! Nice work lads! 😎👍
What a beautiful car it's nearly a sin to rally it.
Awsome bit of kit back in the day and now. So good to see it stretching it's legs.. 😮😮
magnificent car.........poetry on rubber.........world champion
Brilliant, those roads that noise and the scenery….fantastic

Superb i love it .😊❤
Such a great driver very worthy of this car 💯
Complimenti 👏
Questa 131 sembra davvero molto performante
E anche il pilota ha il piede pesante 👍

Good build and that twin cam sounds spot on . Enjoy gents .😊
Looks and sounds fantastic! From when FIAT was great.

Proper car.
Nice alternative to an Escort
The only alternative, other than the Stratos!!
Looks great, sounds great and goes great.
Remember seeing Marku Alen driving one in the mid 1970s on a Scottish Rally, awesome noise. Walther Rohrl could also make one shift at a fair rate.
A stunning car... I prefer the look of the car to a Ford Escort MK2... My viewpoint may prove unpopular 😢
Gorgeous. Doin 'what gorgeous does. Bein' racy.
Legend
Is that the 2litre Lancia twin cam engine? Even the road version of these were quick in their day, 150 bhp if I remember.
No. That’s the 2L Fiat engine that Lancia got after Fiat bought Lancia.

Le luci posteriori e scocca della 131racing. Quando finirono le scocche originali !
Lovely motor
Quand je la voyait en rallye je n avait de yeux que pour elle et la 205 turbo 16s et la 5 turbo quant elle était là
The Business. 💎👌❤️
