- soo today's manga haul turned out to be a happy accident! I originally had a rightstuf haul planned, but unfortunately the shipment didn't get here in time, and I also tried to purcahse from Kinokuniya, but they wouldn't let me...so I decided to go back to newbury comics since it's been a while, and it just so happened that they were running a buy one get one 50% off manga sale, so this was a great manga haul! there were so many titles I haven't seen before, it was overwhelming in a good way!
I picked up some titles I've been looking for, for a while like Ao Haru Ride, Kaguya Sama, and Blue Period volume two! I also picked up some titles that seemed very interesting like Not Your Idol, Harukana Receive, and Ran and the Gray World, plus more!

Amazon has Monster in stock. I'd also suggest if you find a series you really want to read that you start picking up random volumes as you come across them. Most of the time it is easier to collect a series that way then trying to get them all in order because you never know if those volumes will be out of stock the next time or when the next print run will be. An eample is that I set myself at max 3 volumes I can buy but 1 has to be a volume of that series I'm trying collect like banana fish.
ahh thank you I didn't know! I definitely have been trying to collect more than just one volume once I find out I like the series! it's so tempting when I see all of these titles though haha 😅
Solonin is great and is a music series. Also sweetness and lighting is soooo freaking wholesome it follows a single dad.

I’m glad your third choice worked out so well! There are no Newbury Comic book stores in my area, so it’s cool to see a shop that not B&N or BAM ^^ Plus, they had so many good series there! The selection was out of this world, I don’t blame you for doing multiple run throughs lol
Someone else mentioned this series already, but I second Snow White with the Red Hair as an excellent pick up (and it fits the Shoji Beat theme); one of my fav series and an instant pick up when new volumes come out (though it is kinda long now - up to vol.17). I’ve had my eye on Not My Idol too, but I heard it went on hiatus after vol.2, so I’ve been hesitant to pick it up. Also envious of your Ao Haru Ride pick up! I literally just finished watching the anime. I think it only adapted about half the series, but it was a really sweet yet grounded romance story imo.
I like the new set up for showing off your buys too! Always nice to be able to see more of the art of a manga series :)
definitely nice to switch it up sometimes especially when the selection was so good! also, I'll definitely have to check out Snow White with the Red Hair now that it has double recommendations haha! and nooo that's so sad, the story seems very compelling.

I highly recommend Snow White with the Red Hair, haven't read it (but I have vol 1 and 2), but it's a romance set in like a world with kingdoms and stuff, but not fantasy - definitely one of my favorite romance anime I've seen that isn't Fruits Basket (which is my number one romance). and romance seems to be one of your favorite genres (if not THE genre) and I think you'll really like the story.
also it's so painful to see you pass by volumes I need and not be able to snatch them from the screen D: can't wait for the right stuf haul!!

This store seems to have an amazing selection! Lots of stuff I haven't even seen before and it was cool to see some of the other stuff they had in the store and I spotted that Kaiba Pop Up Parade figure haha. I hope you can pick up Yugioh soon, the manga is soo good and contains stuff that didn't get adapted to the Duel Monsters anime. I recommend Tokyo Mew Mew if you want a fun and classic magical girl series, it's the first manga I ever read! Sweetness and Lightning is really wholesome and I'm really enjoying Ran and the Grey World it's very whimsical and wonderful. I want to pick up Kaiju Girl Caramalise, those covers draw me in too. Nice pickups!! I recently picked up Bloom Into You aswell, The Girl From The Other Side I've been interested in and I see you got Nozaki-kun! I'm looking for Not Your Idol volume 1 myself, I just have a random volume 2... haha and Oresama Teacher seems interesting.
it definitely does and good eye haha! I was excited to see that they had yu-gi-oh, just have to find volume one!! Also, no way I'll have to check out Tokyo Mew Mew then! We have way too similar tastes haha glad to hear Ran is good, it looks very compelling. Not your idol looks great, hope you can get your hands on volume one! 😄

Erased is such a fun read. Really well done and unique art, a well written story, and quality hard covers. I’ve only read through volume two so far, but if you remotely enjoyed the anime, then the manga is a great way to experience the story again👌🔥

i saw you go by these but you should try out some of these series. land of the lustrous,berserk,and dorohedoro some of these are out of you genre that you like but they’re very special in there own way that you won’t experience else where i hope you try them out! also i cryed when you walked last dorohedoro 1 cause it’s been so hard to find😭 they’re coming back in print tho
Ahh I'm sorry I'll go back and get dorohedoro! Im always open to trying new titles out of my genre, and I definitely want berserk as well it's just a little pricey so I never end up grabbing it 😅
Not sure if you noticed but Oresama Teacher and Nozaki kun are by the same mangaka! Definitely one of my fav RomCom authors out there :) Glad to see you got both of them.

As a novel reader, I'm a huge fan of fantasy books and fantasy worlds Ran and the gray world seems like it should be a good read hahha. When you say the word magic, i'm definitely sold 😅😂
Haha I've heard the series is great, I've been getting into fantasy reads and they've started to be climbing in my favorite genres!

I will not stop from suggesting you all to read Barakamon! It’s about an extremely introverted, always anxious young Japanese calligrapher who was ‘kicked out’ from his house and was sent to a less populated island in Japan because he did a grave mistake. In that island, all people are getting along too well, and starting to keep on pestering him to join them playing all the time. Ends up he’s completely becoming one of the villagers and getting along with everyone.
His little gang consists of a few grade schooler, two middle schoolers and a high schooler. His everyday life never been boring since all the kids keep on coming to his house, messing with his life lol
It’s a warmth comedic story! You guys MUST try!

Not sure if you’ve picked this one up already. But definitely get wotakoi: love is hard for otaku. Really good laid back romance manga about childhood friends who work the same office job and are otakus.

The Sarazanmai spin-off takes place before the anime actually, so you don't have to watch the anime first to enjoy it. It's a really funny and cute "cops suddenly become dads" story. Hard to believe that these two are actually the main antagonists in the anime.

You should check out One punch man. Even though it's shounen, it's absolutely amazing and I'm sure you'll love it anyway. The story is just so funny and the artwork in the manga is just incredible.
