In Australia we call this an 'overhang' meaning the rock has been eroded out beneath it. Such overhangs are very popular here in sandstone country for overnight shelters for bushwalkers and rock climbers alike. No need to pitch a tent. What a bonus. And no doubt ancient earlier generations made good use of such shelters..
What beautiful spaces you have to work with.... I WISH I had that on my doorstep. You deserve to have HUNDREDS of thousands of subs and I hope that you get them soon.
Excelente hermano lindo refugio ☺️..Excellent brother, nice refuge. I see a lot of gravel, I'm not looking for gold. Underneath there should be those huge rocks... hahaha greetings from Tucumán Argentina
Looked like the initial foundation posts that you put in weren't very solid (they wobbled a bit) - did the weight of the rest of the dirt, rocks, etc help stabilize it? Honest question. I know nothing. And I love the dog.
Personally, I could not sleep under a rock that I did not know how it was anchored. If it rolled over in the middle of the night you would never even be found To each their own.
The amount of loose rock that has calved off under that overhang would be enough to warn me off. While it is likely a result of humidity during freeze/thaw cycles, that wouldn't be particularly comforting if a 50kg 'flake' drops on you in the middle of the night.
Will the cave fill with storm water? How was the rock exposed in the first place? Looks like the makings of a great shelter, so lucky to have a stream nearby. Best wishes☺️
That's what we call a ravine around here. See the water flowing from the center, at the top? That water flow would have slowly carved the ravine out over a period of decades or centuries. As it carves out the ravine, big flat rocks like this will be exposed and will have part of their underside exposed. If too much is exposed the rock will be dislodged and tumble down the ravine. There's probably a pile of them at the bottom. Ravines are usually more shady then surrounding areas, and humid due to the waterflow+shade. So that's probably the single biggest downside of what he did here (imo), I hate mosquitoes.
What was your total build time? Just curious. And I have a German Shepherd on the other side of the age curve. Yours is a pup, my old guy is around 13-14.
Hid a morgan byilding in a similar way along strawberry creek near brown wood texas. Nicely hidden place safe from siblings and parents. Helped me cut ties with toxic family .
Does anyone know where he builds these? Are they all on his land? What country is he in ? Are they just in the middle of no where ? Did he just start building tiny houses in the woods? Can I go live in one?
This is definitely east coast US, possible SE Canada.. Somewhere along the Appalachians. That salamander in the opening shot is only found on the eastern side of the US. Plus it's a hilly or mountainous area, so either Appalachians or foothills of Appalachians, close enough.
You may or may not be right. If what you say is right. It is strange that he renovated his grandfather's house in the Ukraine. It looks like the same man and his dog.
Do you have to ask permission to build in places like this? I did find a little surprising that you can just rock up to an overhang to build a house and nobody has anything to say about it?
This is the Us government. We see here that you're building a house with no permit.this will be a $10 000 finel. The tax for new houses is $7000. The welcoming tax is $6900. The municipal tax is $5800. We also see that you have running water. The water tax is $750. If you want to save all of these taxes, come meet me at McDonald's. I'll erase all of your debts for $50 and a McDonalds big mac trio.
Hello, i'm not sure what all that was about, however it would appear that you have lost your way and have strayed onto this channel by mistake. Your comment has nothing to do with the topic of this channel.

They call those rockhouses here in eastern Kentucky in the US.
I’m in northeast vic n say big rain coming upstream 😂
@vbdrinker5671 i'm from Australia and i'd say "all over' but you need to go out bush to find them.
Lots of rock features like this along the mighty Hawkesbury River.
This looks like the mountains near where my mom lives in TN. Beautiful!! And Loki is precious!

Agreed
@@JC_R8MEOWI don’t know if you’re aware how much things weigh or anything, but I can bench press 50kg. That rock is like hundreds of tons. Not kg.
I had to recently purchase a replacement blade for my same Silky saw. It was half price than buying an entire new saw.
Worth it though.
you are a very strong person I like very much
god job, I'm like its, I'm new your subcriber from indonesia fighting ✊
Very cool!!
I love watching this build, I just wish you would talk about what you are doing. Love the dog, name?
If you put a fire under that rock, eventually it will start spalling off large flakes. Watch your fires 😬

Looking at that pups paws gonna be as big as a bear
the dogs like "wait for me" while hes just going to the wilderness

Are you on private land where someone has allowed you to build? Or do you own this land?
😮😮❤❤
Great

Where did you get that shovel? It is so flat..
Brother I am inspired by you! I posted a video today where I'm building a cave if you have time, take a look when you have time 🤝🙏

Thanks ❤😊
Great job but doesn’t ur puppy eat?
Don’t know where you are but it looks very similar to the mountains of West Virginia, USA
to me it looks more like one of the Slavic areas. In any case, very interesting.
I'm wondering where a person would be allowed to do a build like this unless it's private land 🤔
@@WDWanda6 in West Virginia, we have vast tracts of forests/mountains that we can travel undetected.
It was great but you can post a better screen shot, good luck
✨💗❣️⭐💓💖😇❤️♥️
I would build a bridge instead of those stairs.
The sun now enters the constellation of Virgo. Happy early birthday to both Bilbo and Frodo Baggins. Whom are both born on the invernal equinox.

I'm going to bet it's his land. Looks like any old ridge you'd find in Tennessee to me. 😂
I tend to agree. It must be his kind ir a friends. It would be nice to know though
👍
Did you find any artifacts while removing the dirt from under the rock, hope the next video your inclose and put wall up under the rock 😊
Hope there will be no huge flash flood happening
Is that a crocodile?
WHY would you build in an obvious Flood Zone ?

Keep focused mate, this about a bloke building a shelter having found some nicely sawn logs the right length and thinks he’s Robinson Crusoe
Bro has 6 months to build a shelter

You have adhd I swear you go from your main focus being shelter to stairs no hate tho
