Nice job. But to the layperson watching be careful when choosing a boulder for a shelter. Often times the hollowed out spaces below boulders are hollow because of water runoff. Hello, mostly all these snakes, scorpion or others poisonous or not live in the hot or warm environments, it’s very rear to find them in North America specially in winter.
Bro, two major things I'm doing differently. 1. If you're clearing the ground to make it flat, I get it, but put more leaves back to make the ground under you softer but most importantly, it's a layer between you and the ground, it saps your body heat. 2. If you're bringing all that stuff, bring a fire blanket put it opposite you so the fire reflects the heat back to you and it blocks out the cold wind. Other than that, nice video and cool dog.

i notice in many bushcraft videos they seem to burn a considerable amount of wood. is it possible to maintain a "comfortable" tempurature with smaller fire? in a survival situation I suspect finding enough wood could become a serious problem. Also, I remeber watching old western movies and the native Americans commented on how big the fires cowboys made.
The modern way is rocket stoves and mass heaters. These efficiently and cleanly burn even the smallest amounts of wood and reclaim much or most of the heat instead of wasting it up the chimney.
A rock fireplace like what he built here will also help by absorbing and radiating the heat over time. However, LironMtnRanch is correct that there are more efficient ways.
I don’t know how it will be in English, but in Russia there is a fire, “nodya” two logs from the bottom 3rd from the top, such a fire burns for 5-10 hours, depending on the thickness of the logs, it produces a lot of heat
There's a few things going on I suspect. One is that it films better and they're not surviving, they're thriving (if your survival scenario involves steaks, lucky you!). Secondly is efficient use of the heat whether that's building next to a rock wall, a pile of rocks, or some logs to radiate the heat back. The third is having the right type of wood. Hardwoods are going to be more effort, but can burn for much longer than pine, fir, etc.
Bonnie is beautiful!!! What a great companion!

I'm actually planning to move to a remote mountain or forest in the future, I'm currently making plans :D

That's freedom right there - that's peace, getting away, clearing your mind and heart .. 🌌

Always a pleasure to watch. You couldn’t find a spot with a bigger boulder in your way ? 😂 Fireplace was outstanding. Have a great evening
Very beautiful nature my friend, the original hiding place!👍
I'm old and I may have asked this before but are there any poisonous serpents or other critters where you live there or in the mountains?
Hello, mostly all these snakes, scorpion or others poisonous or not live in the hot or warm environments, it’s very rear to find them in North America specially in winter.
Vipers are there ! 72+🍁 Manitoba hunter expat ♠️
@@faridehnaghsh isn't he in Greece not North America?
@@charleslatora5750 you're right, he is in Greece
@@charleslatora5750 my mistake, thanks for correcting me.

Down to earth no fuzz survival. Excellent.
Thanks a lot for the good content. Excellent cinematography and excellent directing. I myself have recently started making videos about bushcraft, of course it does not compare with your work yet, but I am moving towards it very quickly. Greetings from Belarus!
All you gotta do is find a Kangal with a backpack saddlebag like Bonnie and you'll do great !!! Ok. ,,,? SMILE....
Muito bom gratidão ❤
That was good GR. Good idea under the bolder. I liked the way you constructed the fireplace and chimney. Wow you really eat a lot of potatoes and onions. How cold was it there? What was the temperature? 👍👍👍
incredibly bad idea under the rock.
Heat + cold rock = splatt...

Oh no sorry to hear it. Better luck next time Kenneth.
So cool how he takes care of his dog first.
That'll work. I would be happy to spend some time unwinding in that shelter. Just me and my dog? Perfect. I also 100 percent agree with every word this man said. If you know, you know. Well done.

i notice in many bushcraft videos they seem to burn a considerable amount of wood. is it possible to maintain a "comfortable" tempurature with smaller fire? in a survival situation I suspect finding enough wood could become a serious problem.
Doggo really loves you bro. Such a good boy!
Thanks mate great video
Enjoyed watching
Real man cave warm out of weather, worth a week's stay
