I have seen one of leaked gameplay, so clicking "see more" is spoiler territory.
Attacks look similar to Jason, while few are akin to Wonder Woman, Ryu (Street Fighter), Ganondorf/Captain Falcon, and mainly using Gun/Gun-Fu while the mechanic of getting ammo by attack using ammo with gun attacks.
I really hate that there is not restart or rematch in the rifts. Every time I pause it’s to restart but I have to finish the rift all over again just to complete the harder more annoying objectives
Yeah trying to do those only take 50 or 100 damage ones and then having to die or finish the match just because they don't have a restart sucks.

Is that person likely to keep playing the game for the long-term if they aren't certain they will end up buying a character they will enjoy?
I think it's better for them to allow everyone to taste each character so then they would be more willing to possibly skip the grind, then leading to more cosmetic purchases and so on.

Jason is my favorite character by far! Next two are Batman and Shaggy. After that, Wonder Woman and Black Adam.

i expected agent smith to be available on launch, but also, they never released a gameplay trailer or move set video for him, so i guess it should have been expected that he wouldnt be available. that being said, they still shouldnt have said you can get him 2 weeks early. they should have just said if you complete all the rifts, you can unlock him for free
I think its dumb that they announcr characters so early n then make us wait so long.. hype dies out for the characters. Fortnite for example they drop a trailer or something and then whatever it is drops within a week or 2 max

The vast majority of games don't carry over any progress from beta so he happy with what you got.

I had to pick back up on Jake.. the mf feels so satisfying getting a super easy ko right off the rip by trapping people as I stretch up, into a Melee up into another stretch it can be dodged out of if fast enough but alot of people seem to miss the timing and get pulled up to the top of the ring and the knock up from those hits almost always guarantees a knock out in the first 10 seconds of a match
Well, his up special causes frame skipping on PS4 at least. So that could be why some people are having trouble with it.

Doing all difficulties gets you points for agent smith but also that fighter currency that lets you unlock more characters. It’s probably this method or a completely strict pay wall. Id rather be able to earn characters than have to eventually pay for them. They also have that sign in bonus that gets you currency over time and challenges that reward you currency as well. Look at the other free to play models in other games; they all have a system like this, some fairer than others. This is one of the better ones honestly.

When I play rifts mode with my friend (I’m on Xbox series x, he’s on pc) some rift modes simply don’t work, mainly the mini games like popping the balloons and the boss battle itself, it will simple kick me from the match while my friend is still inside, then once it’s over it isn’t complete for him still, anyone else having this??

So you get a point if you beat the boss. What do you get if you get al this stars from the fights? So for example play as a DC character or do 100 special damage. Im not able to get this because i don’t have any friends that play this game as well so the quest “bring a friend to play” that you have in every fight is not possible for me to get.

There is 5 levels of difficulty per rift. You have easy, experienced, crushing, insanity, and then looney. So you can get 5 points per rift
I've been grinding so hard for character coins just to play joker, I've put 12 hours into the game and have 4.5k (I need 6k)

Try to get your characters to level 5. Thats what I'm currently grinding for since each level 5 gives you 100 tokens.

I hate how there is basically no reward for playing after you finished the daily and weekly missions. There are few to begin with so we really need bp xp from matches!
@blitzZ Played a bunch of Jason. I found he has a really hard time with priority and range on his attacks. I always get hit by characters like Finn before any of my attacks can land.
What if you do your friends rifts by joining them will that count as a boss point as well or is that not how it works

There are but those most likely will pertain to a later event I'm sure it'll be tied. However the release of looney and the timing of the event ending where Agent Smith and skins goes away makes sense

The Jokers Ruse missions don't complete. Twitch drops didn't work for anyone. I got my Garnet skin, but no banner. They just don't know what they are doing. These issues aren't even being looked into or fixed at all. On top of the fact, the characters move like molasses now. It's stuck in slow-motion mode. They literally released "missions" like jokers ruse and rigged them so they can't be completed by anyone. Wild.

This is something that's been bothering me since the game came out, and I'm still not satisfied with this answer (not you, but Game8). It's assuming. There's a lot of assumptions and guessing. It could be correct, but it's silly. I don't understand why we're playing a guessing game here. It should clearly be laid out by Player 1st games in the game. 3:30 this whole part is saying "IF the next 3 rifts follow this pattern". So yeah, now that I think about it, the title of the vid is a little clickbait as well (I get it, I make content too), but it's just super annoying

I get you’re likely dissatisfied with it, and it can be a failure in that sense, but it’s simply not a failure in any measurable way, financially or player base wise.

Agent Smith was the character i eanted to play so im oretty annoyed about the way they went about this.
Im definitely not paying money ontop of the BP to get him after the event ends.
I was so hyped for this game until it came out and i saw this junk, it really kills my enjoyment of the game.
The game being much slower compared to the beta is a bigger issue to me tbh.
The game is free. So we should expect for them to create ways to keep us logging in every day to grind for those things we dont want to pay for. Agent Smith was stated to come later... they are giving us a chance to get him early without paying. No issue for me.

@darkarrow3683 Danearys wouldn't work in MultiVersus as unlike both Jon Snow & Daemon Targaryen, she's not a fighter. She's nothing without her 3 dragons to rely heavily upon.
The only type of game that I could see Danearys being used very well in is in a Panzer Dragoon-style game where she's flying around on Drogon scorching various enemies & boss fights.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm not enjoying the full release compared to the beta. There are so many things about this release that feels more like an actual beta compared to the beta before.
I was thinking the same. The combat feels clunky as if it is now in beta. In the actual beta it felt way more fluent.

Need to being back several things
1. Speed
2. Change character after a rematch to pick your main
3. Air dodges like before cause they just lowered the skill ceiling
4. The camera like before it sucks ass now
5. Being able to pick all characters in tranining mode
6. Showing stats at the end of a match why would they take thay away ?
7. Being able to hover over the UI instead of selecting one by one thay also goes for the loading screen before a match to be able to see the badges because right now they're glitched.

In smash you can play as characters until you unlock them.
You can unlock characters by simply playing the game. You don’t need to spend a cent
@@masteroflight7296 I’d say it’s more of a matter of how Warner Bros. is trying to incentivize players. Since the game is free to play, all of the revenue is from cosmetics and Gleamium etc.. When so many of the cosmetics are locked behind characters you don’t have access to at that moment, the two options you have are to grind for scraps of character currency, or you pay the price in real money to get them instantly.
But I think the biggest issue that’s with players is that the price of fighters are substantially higher now than they were in the beta; because previously there was no way to earn fighters for free. On one hand the option to play until you earn is nice of course, but it’s still hours upon hours of playing with fighters you may not like for a fighter that you may or not even feel was worth the effort, since you can no longer try them out in training as a trial until you already pay the price.
I don’t think it can be looked at the same as other live services like Fortnite and the like because these characters all play so different from each other, meanwhile there’s only one baseline gameplay style in Fortnite.
It all comes from Warner Bros. taking away a really great feature for what seems to be no particular reason other than for you to invest more. It isn’t surprising, it’s just corporate.
Fun fact: you can't unlock every character in smash ultimate because there are 12 characters that are locked behind dlc

It is terrible that you can;t choose any character or skin in training room. I'm not really sure if to buy a skin or character if i don't test them first. Also overally training interface is so much worse than it was

Yeah unless you're like a god in this game I don't really see anybody getting agent Smith. Going up into Looney and whenever insanities is available. Doing all that on every single one of these riffs on top of that doing some of the quest multiple times because it requires you to play specific characters or do specific things. So you can earn all those diamonds to get your gem level up. Not a big fan of it. However the more problematic problems coming out of this game to be too is almost unplayable Jake's up attack is laggy as all hell. Some of the missions aren't registering especially the joker's ruse play as banana guard two times. Getting randomly kicked out and sent to my home screen game just shuts off. Didn't get all my stuff that I earned in the beta and of course I won't forget the fact that you can only play the characters that you have unlocked in the training room when it should be all the characters. Every character is slow and heavy 2v2 it's worse. Oh and some of those quests in the rifts require you to use a character with certain skins. So if you want to get those done and not wait for the free ones you got to spend money. I thought they took a year off to make this game better? As far as I can tell the beta was better. And not as money hungry😂😂😂

The beta version was waaay to fast and impossible to see in tournament play, it looked like a jumbled mess when being viewed in livestreams because of low bitrates.
The beta version was waaay to fast for the casual player, its likely the game would've flopped in the casual scene without the change. (Without casual players your game will inevitably die)

It is also really weird how your moves are slower than it was during the beta, also I just don't like the way that new interface looks. For example cooldowns are too small to actually see them, so I hope that mayby there will be an option to change that. The only thing that i probbably just can't get used to is that now camera is so much closer and you can't actually see the map...

This method does the exact opposite actually, it incentivizes people to actually skip the mode entirely because the time investment Vs “the reward” is non existent till 1 month+ later. Especially if you don’t find the challenges and or difficulty invigorating enough to obtain a character you may or may not (a chance) actually be heavily invested in. Although I suppose these “rewards ” are actually a nice gesture to the community when there could be none. The marketing and information surrounding this singular reward where the marketing is actually false people are left guessing and clueless for basic information is bewildering to say the least.

Some of Those tiers are locked as you have not hit the gem level.

They've essentially made him unobtainable for the vast majority of players.
I mean who wants to spend tens of hours in a badly designed game mode that's filled with paywalled and P2W "content".
The event should've been handled differently, you should be able to reset Rift campaigns so you can farm out the boss kills you need.
They could've had the different difficulties give more or less progress depending on how hard you have it set.
They've taken the worst possible approach to what could be a fun game mode, I'm not even recommending my friend download the game anymore because I know it's a waste of his few gaming hours. (Which is sad because I huped it up all damn month)

It’s wild how incompetent game companies be nowadays. Eveyrtime there’s a good start they always ruin it somehow. Look at mk1 with invasions. NO ONE like how repetitive and monotonous it is, especially for rewards that aren’t worth it. Rifts is just meh imo. They should’ve added more characters for the release as opposed to spending time making a damn store and currencies. If they just took what they had from beta and made a few tweaks, they could’ve spent the whole rest of that time making new things and everyone would’ve been praising the release, calling it a huge comeback.
The whole change in currencies is scummy and greedy, making a currency you get by spending the paid for currency? Come on just ridiculous. And it looks like some characters moving forward will be locked behind the battle pass aka content you have to pay for.

I have fighter tokens left from the beta but the game is focusing me to use them. Like I have 9k fighter currency but the game will not let me use it to get fighters. Dose anyone know what is happening
You have to use the tickets first. It’s likely this way to force players to spend all their tickets first on the characters that cost 3k rather than 6k. They want you to spend money in the future. Its possible they’ll l change this due to backlash, so I’d save your tickets for a little bit
