I absolutely adore how sometimes she hops off Chief's hand instead of just walking, it shows subtly how she's more innocent and childish than Cortana
I love New Cortana. She's so well written and voiced. The moment she realized what she was, and what Cortana had done the pain in her voice, the way she instantly understands why Chief did what he did accepts it and tells him to do it and he refuses just struck a cord in me. I love her upbeat attitude and innocence.
Especially when Chief pulls her towards him and says “we do this together.” Man that was good. He appeared in her darkness, infinite got a good story.

@@jjbarea5810 she's a Cortana copy that had a factory reset by Dr. Halsey. Cortana did mention The Weapon has great potential, so we'll just have to wait and see how that plays out.
I think my favourite part about Infinite's story as a whole was Cortana's farewell, and passing the torch to the Weapon.
The Weapon's revelation is a close second.

Is it just me or is The Weapon slightly adorable? Its like she's filling the hole that Cortana left in him.
Still reeling from the fact the Cortana is gone. How many years has it been that they've been the duo? Its almost like I made it personal in Halo 3 retrieving her.

I think she is as she's like a child as in behaviorwise and I think thankfully the weapon is basically healing from the scars left by Cortanas Death on Master Chief. Best examples of this is the way she talks in certain case scenarios such as finding out the truth of how she was created or that one moment where when a brute chieftain was going down an elevator and she said "maybe its a friend?"
I like that she's still very much innocent and sort of... Playful? Cortana was no stranger to sarcasm, and knew her way around a joke, but Weapon is precious in her wide-eyed enthusiasm.

Weapon is kind of like the child of John and Cortana. She was made from the remnants of Cortana and pieces if John memory. Cortana also more then likely redid some of her programming and gave her the cure for rampancy before her death on the ring.
Its really a dad daughter dynamic now.

@@sorrenblitz805 John is not Halsey's "son". Just because he was her favorite out of the test subjects does not mean she ever actually liked him or cared for him at all. John is a tool, a weapon, for Halsey and the UNSC to point at their problems and make them go away. Him being her favorite tool is no different than a chef's favorite knife or a mechanic's favorite socket wrench.
Not only is he just her best weapon, but she made 4 AIs using herself as the subject. From what I remember 2 were destroyed on Reach in the lab when it was glassed, but she took 1 with her as she evacuated.
When John lost Cortana he lost a lot of his soul. His new relationship however with weapon has given him the several things he has been yearning for since Cortana’s lost, Hope and companionship. There is alot of resemblance in Weapon like Cortana and if you watch carefully she genuinely cares for John.
Love this duo, chemistry is great and I want to see more 🥰.
You have to understand that Weapon and Cortana's feelings for Chief are actually Halsey's feelings towards him. They're both clones of her brain.
52:15 I know it's a small, but the way how chief frantically looks around, weighing his options. only to commit on the very chief thing to do, and go in guns blazing to save his pilot. and any others he could find on the way is what sells the scene for me. his abit more human this time round. and I like that.
The relationship between Chief and Cortana/Weapon is what makes Halo so awesome. I adore these two. The voice acting is incredible. The most iconic duo in gaming.

@@RedMcCarl that's not possible because she's a copy of Cortana. Cortana was already Chief's little sister, since her creator is Halsey and Halsey is basically Chief's adoptive mom. Weapon is Chief's "Younger" younger sister.

So the first scene with her made me cry we have seen him put that chip in his head 100 times but it was so different this time
So many feels this game gave me. I was literally cold as space and then played this game and feelt so many feelings :D
I think it was important for the game developers that the player insert the chip. Just sticking the players with a new "Cortana" would have made the players mad but because the players were the ones to put the chip in it kind of acts as a form of acceptance that this will be your new partner.

Agreed and I think she has one of the most emotional moments halo has since well halo 3(which is the moment where she felt a lot of remorse for things Cortana did despite her only being a copy of Cortana which I know it sounds a bit stupid but it really hit me on that note.)
I think its just the bad taste left from Halo 5. Cortana and Chief will always be iconic.

@@johndavies5111 not for a whole third trilogy, I'd like to think. I mean, there's no successor in sight so far. (Jerome, maybe..?) So the next trilogy would have to feature said successor *heavily*, dedicating lots of time to imbuing the character with gravitas and significance. It also depends on Mr.Downe's willingness (and readiness, too, time spares no one) to keep going.

I was so confused at first because even I thought it was Cortana
Idk I could tell by the tone of her voice she wasn't Cortana. Cortana's voice was way more cynical in tone and laced with unending sass and sarcasm. Weapon is bright, bubbly and innocent sounding. Took me all of 3 seconds to understand she wasn't Cortana.

Agreed. Weapon was made from pieces of John memories and Cortona's orginal subsystem. Cortana also before she died, redid Weapons code so she couldnt be deleted by John or herself. She also gave her echos and memories of her time with John. Weapon is naive and cheerful and John is teaching her how reality works.

Reach will always have the best elite models/armor in my opinion. However, this game really took the time to flesh out the brute armor types which we saw a bit of in H3 and Reach but nothing on this scale and it is cool.

Sooo... I just gotta say that overall I do mostly enjoy this story. It's faaaaaar better than Halo 5, and on par if not better than Halo 4. A massive improvement and I'm happy to see a post Halo 4 Chief done right, I honestly feel like this is picking up all the broken pieces of 5's story and all the good parts of 4's story. I love the passing of the torch, and it feels so good, genuine, and a loving farewell. Perhaps a bit overdue and overdone, but I immensely enjoy it. I certainly think we need more didact, Arbiter, and the flood. But other than that, I really really enjoyed all of this so far. If they release campaign dlc, I certainly would be heavily leaning towards buying it.

I’ll admit, the overall plot _was_ kinda thin with a couple of inconsistencies (nothing truly story breaking, but still there). But honestly, I think the focus of this game was more on the relationship between Echo, The Weapon, and Chief. This was a story of characters, not of whatever plan or plot is being planned on Halo. Each with their own strengths, failings, feelings…and scars. This was a journey to explore all of that. And honestly? With how said characters turned out? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Maybe her new name can be Andromeda.
