Brings back the memories - I used to live on Madison Lane catty corner across the street from company 10 next to the big empty field that used to be there . Looks like they've upgraded the station since I saw it last in person but then that was back before the town houses went all the way to Columbia Pike , the Columbia pike end of Madison Lane itself has been rerouted since I was there last also .
I do a bit of 3d modeling and would love to add the old Co 10 ladder truck into my game but I need to look some pictures up online to kind of use as a guideline when I build it . Does anybody know what kind of truck that was ? It wasn't the tiller - it was a 10 wheeler . We moved onto Madison Lane summer of 1972 before the station was built there so I'm going to say it was probably the one they had ..... maybe 1975 or so or maybe just a very short bit after that .
Some of the fire stations in Fairfax used to be volunteer, or are still like half volunteer (however every station has some full time firefighter's staffing it), meaning that a medic or some apparatuses of the station will be volunteer. Those stations have different trucks, however Fairfax is trying to replace all these trucks with normal Fairfax County Fire and Rescue trucks. City of Fairfax is part of Fairfax county (I think) but is sort of a different corporation. I'm not exactly sure what Fairfax county is.
@@hldtrm 13 stations are volunteer out of 42 stations (that info was accurate 8 years ago but may have changed). The volunteer stations pay for the various rigs so I doubt they'd go to the standard red/white colors as they would lose the look that makes them special.
Alan Walker74 it's because those units used to be volunteer, however they have all moved to career now, but they still have the old rigs from when they were volunteer. Fairfax is eventually going to replace all those old rigs with new ones, that are like the normal Fairfax County Fire and Rescue ones.
@@hldtrm I do not believe this information is correct. All stations are not career, at least not entirely. There are around 13 that are still volunteer/career hybrid stations. The rigs are typically bought by the volunteer stations therefore can have a paint design of their choosing. FS10 is volunteer and uses the yellow color scheme. Franconia (FS10) uses all red.

Yeah, this station is pretty new. They built it after the old was collapsed due to a large amount of snow on the roof. Thanks for watching!

At about 1:40, that’s in Arlington county, so why are the Fairfax County units responding there?
2:06 & 2:30 was that Medic 401 & Medic 418 in Reserve
3:28 & 4:07 was that Medic & Truck 401 in reserve
2:32 it looks like same one as Regular Medic 418
Awesome compilation! I am confused why are some trucks different colors and why isn't it the city of Fairfax or is that just how they set it up?

Hey
Yes?
kinda curious why some of the equipment is white and green?
Alan Walker74 you mean the rigs?
hldtrm yes. I'm guessing that's for the volunteers at that station?
