I run desert lizards with losi mini t springs in the rear and desert lizards front setup in full droop with the longest softest spring they are just as smooth as dravtec shocks.
For a gen8 9lb setup what you recommend? I'm running soft short droop and medium soft springs on top. 4 hole pistons with 25w oil. Seems about the best for feel I've gotten it. Didn't want truck fully collapsed but I put medium stiff springs in it hurts full flex. Playing with but looks like first my best option
Been watching you and you’re dad for a couple years now on wolftick as I got into mountain biking , and got into rc crawling a lil over a year ago and just happened to come Accross this video today! Of course I had to subscribe , need to get ur pops into crawling (if he isn’t already)! Great stuff!
Man thank you so much, Wolfman was touched when I showed him this comment. We appreciate the support and man I love this hobby! This was before MTBing lol, but racing them. Then found crawling, looking forward to the next as always brother, much love and see you along the way 👍
Great video!! Wish I had watched before buying 2 desert lizards. The springs came all balled up can't pull apart c clip hard to get off and not as high quality as I was hoping except boxing!!
@@arkansasrcnewbie yeah bro ck them out on website and says down in description of them. They may do better for ya if take oil out but if working may leave as they are!
@@arkansasrcnewbie Thanks. I got it figured out. Just a strange way to mount with orings on the outside. But works. Putting them on original scx10 crawler.
Man they do very well for me, a guy in the group told me the to loosen the pan hard bar mount, and WOW! Such a big difference, made the rear shocks really stay compressed.
When building shocks I always use green slim on the o ring seals. Good stuff!😁😁👍👍
It really is MAGIC!! LOL
I've been using HR internal spring shocks for years now. All my crawlers are belly draggers.
Man the lower the better!! Lol I would love to be laying frame 😂 tonight's episode you should enjoy 😉 Thanks brother

Ooh, that sounds like a great mix 🤘
@@CrawlersCampRc try out longest softest spring with 40wt and 2hole piston to slow it down a bit more
@@arkansasrcnewbie yes sir keeps the nose down on steep climbs but it will extend when needed too.

Great video. Articulate and well put together. Thanks!
Appreciate that man, thanks for the comment. I am learning slowly 🐌 lol. Hopefully I can get some good footage of it crawling 🤘
Great video!!

Well thanks brother! You know I'm thi king about ordering some new ones lol. They have given me fits but....Let's see what I can do with a 100mm pair!
No way! Long time wolftick viewer here, had no idea you were into rc’s as well. I know my new go-to channel now lol
Nick! Thanks man lol, appreciate the love all over 🙏 Thanks for stopping by and looking forward to the next 👍 #wolfticknation
I’m a noob. But how do they suck themselfs in? Did you take the spring off mines pushes out but doesn’t have that pull effect yours has
Well, if you put your springs on the inside of the piston they will pull. Damp setup, so yes
Great shocks dude
Man I hope they pan out well, I love the build quality 👍
Nice shocks what is the measure hole to hole when is full drop?
Thanks brother, the measurement from hole to hole is 2-5/8" or 66.60mm
Very Naice Review!!! Thk's for the Share! Cheers!
Thank you! Cheers!

All you gotta do is drill more holes in the shock piston lol
On my lizards I put a small spring above the piston/disk
That's interesting... you know I've got my new build and I think imma order some desert lizards. I will try that, thanks
@arkansasrcnewbie I swap from small or medium spring depending on whether I want droop or semi sprung
The Hot Racing shocks made a huge difference, so much better than the Lizard Kings.
I thought so too Slothsquatch. Who would of thought, air shocks with oil lol
Lol...seriously??? They are usually considered terrible😄
Would be great a video about how to bleed them!
😉😉😉
These are air shocks not meant for oil. May be why had bleeding problems. Idk.
Really??
@@arkansasrcnewbie yeah bro ck them out on website and says down in description of them. They may do better for ya if take oil out but if working may leave as they are!
Go with 90mm shocks for comps
That's what I'm running now 🤣
Did your mounting balls in the shock ends fit snug or do they move around. Thinking my Hot racing came with the wrong mounting parts
Kept them loose brother, with the orings on each side. They definitely are trying too hard when it comes to the mounting! Lol
@@arkansasrcnewbie Thanks. I got it figured out. Just a strange way to mount with orings on the outside. But works. Putting them on original scx10 crawler.
Nice man 👌
Thanks brother, I kinda got em figured out lol.
no rear preload at all?
None whatsoever
These shocks are sold as air dampening does that mean not to use oil in them??
Yes...But I wanted to try some oil, they are pretty nice with oil lol.
@@arkansasrcnewbie did you ever try them without oil, I'm about like you at having bad luck with leaky shocks smh lol
Wolftick RC😊
😎😎😎
Why not just tune the desert lizards?
Man now that I've got them off and sitting, I think your right. I'll take some time to get them tuned 😏
Because lizards suck lol!
Awesome possum
Thanks brother 😉
I’m from hot springs!!
Love Hot Springs man, such a great atmosphere when we are there.
Ive learned that droop setups look cool for alking across rocks but the climb terribly.....any one else feel that way?
Man they do very well for me, a guy in the group told me the to loosen the pan hard bar mount, and WOW! Such a big difference, made the rear shocks really stay compressed.
Friends don’t let friends buy hot racing or lizards
Dlux shocks are the best shock on the market
Anyone that knows just simply knows this is a fact
🤣🤣 Dude were were you a few months back!!
Aren’t these air shocks?
🤣 Dude they totally are!! Just found that out lol, I guess I am a PIONEER. Def gotta do a video on that now, who knows it may be the new thing!
Yooo 😁
Glad to see you here again brother YOOOOO👍
If you are having issues with the desert lizards you will forever be a newbie👎🏻😆🤣😆🤣
Well NEWBIE it is lol.
hate droop, looks awful. I get the performance gains but I just can't do it.
Man I am right there with you lol, but as you said performance is real!
