- The team camps near the Skeleton Coast and continues their offroad journey to Windhoek, Namibia.
An ongoing tire issue is rearing its head, and the punishing roads are taking their toll on the trucks, and the team. Fuel, food, and water are quickly depleting.
The search continues in the vast Namibian wilderness for the Lone Men of the Kaokoland, and the team bids farewell to their new friend.

This isn’t goodbye for ever, just goodbye for now! Thank you for the amazing experience, mentorship and friendship! You will always have a home in South Africa if you need it! See you again soon! 🫶🏻
Saw that brandy gift, well done boet! I enjoyed your inputs, hope you got the tent sorted 😉
We're proud of you Adrian, you did an awesome job🤝🏼
Sad to see you leave but excited to see your next chapter 🤙🏻
Dude... so gutted about your departure. I wasn't ready! You're such a good addition to the team, this sux 😢
See you soon, Adrian! Couldn't have done this section without you 🙌🏼
@@ExpeditionOverland when will you be in Windhoek, i would like to have a look at that tocoma as it not avaibale in namibia
Could we ALL just please take 11 seconds each and all share these videos with our friends… these guys genuinely deserve it
Thank you X Overland ❤
Thank you!!
Thanks Everyone for tuning and watching our adventure... I love this episode.
Ya know, I personally would have swapped in a spare and kept the sidewall-plugged-tire in reserve as a spare. I'm interested in your reasoning for risking a failure of the sidewall and being truly down a tire. I'm envious of your adventures! Great series so far!
Dude I genuinely teared up with Adrian leaving. SUCH a good dude! I wish he did the entire journey, we're gonna feel his departure in the coming episodes 😢
This series is mind boggling. So very amazing!!! Thank you for taking us around the world. You and your team’s work is so fun to watch…and love how your boys are always learning. Can’t wait for the next episode!
Thanks, Clay for the adventure. Busy following the trip from Windhoek. That Expedition Overland Sticker will look good on my car.
Thank y'all for sharing with lil ole us 💚💚💚
Adrian is such a strategic driver. Again, for Croft, all I see and I have been seeing is a man of the culture raising men. Got to love that.
Hi Clay, the episodes are awesome and te vehicles are taking the heavy beating of the landscapes. I have a request, can you plan for an episode to consolidate on the damages and the beatings the vehicles have suffered on this expedition??
What an amazing episode, fuel range angst and all😮
Adrian's been a champ and we're extremely proud of him🇿🇦
Adrian leaving is a dagger to the chest. He will be missed... A LOT! 😢
Adrian was amazing!
I am thoroughly enjoying these Africa episodes... this is what should be broadcasted on television instead of the crap that is out there. Adrian has been so insightful and a pleasure to watch... the whole thing is just brilliant . I have been listening to your podcasts, too.
Funny enough, Namibia overall has best roads in Africa, gravel and asphalt included. Better roads than the UK and few other 'developed' countries. Its just so vast and untouched that these beautiful roads are usually less travelled.
Namibia my country ia a hidden gem. An overlanding Marvel.
Thanks Adrian for being such a great support and showing them the Ubuntu spirit and let the Roam continue 👍
So what exactly is the mission here? I don’t recall seeing a point A to point B overall objective. After watching all of the episodes so far both myself and my wife we can’t get into this. It seems like you’re just driving around endlessly with little purpose complaining about the roads and vehicle carnage. We learned far more about South America and Scandinavia in your other series than Africa thus far.
I remember watching Adrian from when his content was Suzuki Jimny-centric. Good to see him again! I love love love what you guys do!
Watching from kenya .....amazing
Wow guys, my favourite episode so far in this latest season 🎉 Please don’t stop driving … I want to keep looking forward to new episodes!!! We’re planning a Botswana / Namibia adventure next year and your episodes have added a whole new perspective to the local guy’s overlanding expeditions … thanks @Clay_Croft & Team!
"What is butter Blbisquit?" - whole UK in shock 😂
Great seeing different parts of my country, cant wait for the next episode 😎
Rugged and fun af...overlander's dream.
Namibia has it
Did not hear anyone suggest shutting off the AC on the vehicles to conserve fuel. Just sayin'!
Absolutely great episode, well done guys ang girls!!! Biggest attribute to have travelling in these parts of Africa is the right attitude..........and Team X Overland has it!!
Next time do South Africa - Namibia - Botswana - Zambia - Zimbabwe - Mozambique - back to South Africa 💯
I have enjoyed these African episodes. Thanks Adrian for being an amazing support. Seeing young boys and young men growing up doing extraordinary things makes me happy! Thanks guys for sharing your adventures. 🐘🦒
What an awesome adventure. Well made video!
Sad to see Adrian go......., but you guys will do great.
On to the next leg of the expedition, bring it on.....
Thanks for the share 😎🤙
I like the "spare tire" fuel disks. Where did those come from?
I am glad watch this african series, which is really inspiring me to visit south africa, where i can see those amazing landscapes.
Good luck guys keep making these adventure videos, which really inspires lot of people out there.
Something fascinating about the desert elephant. Remember the elephant in Botswana were very destructive as they are in many parts of Africa, pushing over trees and peeling the bark off trees.
There was no visible damage noticed where you found the desert elephant, they practice conservation, by eating leave and not damaging trees.
There is a secret exposed by scientists in the Kruger Park, South Africa. Trees communicate with each other chemically. They found this out by studying kudu, the kudu browsed in the direction of the wind, this caused the wind to carry the chemicals released to blow backwards. If the chemical blew forward, it warned the trees ahead and their leaves turned bitter. Noticed how giraffe will eat from the one tree then move to the next, the leaves turn bitter to preserve the trees. Think of an onion’s chemical defence, it makes you cry for somebody you don’t know.
Another common reason for animals moving against the wind, is to smell predators.
That camp at Puros brings back memories.. we where stuck there for 2 days cause we couldn't cross that river due to high rainfall elsewhere and all the rivers were in full flood. After 2 days of waiting, we were able to cross it. Some of our vehicles didn't have enough fuel left to turn around.. plan was not to stay in Puros camp. But what a fantastic camp it was.
Thanks to you guys I feel like I am on this adventure as well even that my 'truck' would not even last a day on those roads.
Getting the Ministry of Roads Authority to sort sort out that ROAD ASAP!
Nooooo !!!! It would take the adventure out of it 😁😁😁
Excellet as always, also bg thumbs up at the end, I believe; Clay with the bottle of Captain Morgan in the center cup holder ! hahaha
The fuel ⛽️ push had me on the edge of my seat! Great episode looking forward to the next one
This legit overland trip and i really enjoyed it I'm driver i feel the thrill of arriving new places everyday
Awesome video as always XO Crew. It’s been an epic ride with Adrian and the road ahead is long and rough but that’s what makes the adventure that more memorable hope to see Adrian again later on down the road. Thanks for letting us ride along with y’all on y’all’s adventures.
Another awesome episode, Thank you.
Great channel and adventures, but man do they over prepare. So much of the content is about that. And you see so many youtubers just going for it in Africa without a care in the world and its more about the travels and less about the anxiety. I go out exploring middle of nowhere Utah in my 34 year old Landcruiser without a care in the world. I have tons of contingencies if something goes wrong, but one of the main reasons for me to go offroad and explore is that sense of adventure and its all good attitude, connect with nature.
That's what made this channel interesting years back, the friendships, lightheartedness. Now its more about all the gear and I get that's the business model, but would love to see some more of that again!
Just some subjective 1 person feedback.
Is there a reason why you put the vehicles on trex each time you park at camp sites?
Word of the trip, 'Spectacular'... Thats My Namibia for you.
2:40 this time General Tire DIDN'T DELIVER, LOL 😂
Looking forward to the next episode on Sunday! You guys will always be amazing!
great trip, great scenery, successful adventure. thx for sharing.
This is home for me!
Loving this series. The terrain makes it great in addition to all of you guys! Will share it with friends.
Thanks for another great episode, through this truly magical region. 👍
I love this!! Thank you so much for sharing such an EPIC adventure!
I bet your sidewall puncture was caused by a loose stone that got kicked up by your front tyre and because you lost the mudflap earlier it will happen easily. I am from South Africa and got numerous rear tyre sidewall cuts untill i made my own big front mudflaps from truck mudflaps. Can't wait for May when we start our own month long Namibia trip.
When you get to windhoek take the time to look in the very well equipped equipment shops the have there 👍
Great thing with Toyota fuel lights.. they are really and I mean really on the secure side.. I once drove 30 KM with 0 range left and the light on... So there is always some room left xD.. Today I fueled up with 12km left, but fuel wise there was still like 5 liters left.. and if you average 20 km a liter that is 100 KM.. not 12 KM..
I absolutely love your videos! I've been watching since close to day 1. That being said I really would like to see a hard-core offroad series like the Alaska trip. That was exhilarating to watch!
Think you guys need to extend this trip in Africa so we have more to watch - you guys have such great dynamics and are so positive, wish we had the opportunity to overland with you, it would have been a pleasure for us - hopefully you will be back this side again and again. if you ever in Jhb, bring the vehicles and come park at our smallholding. Will certainly do a braai and a few brandies before you leave (off camera of course) :-) - Invitation always open
Travel safe and hopefully oneday our paths will cross - Thank you for a great show!!!
Really interested in knowing what the mpg or L/100km are on the trucks and the size of the tanks. My overland rig loaded down still get 1000kms per stock tanks, no auxiliary tanks.
Great video! It is an incredible part of Southern Africa. Next time you need to come through and focus only on this area I rate. So much more to see there and experience. Feels like you rushed through it. Interesting factoid about the desert elephants of Namibia. They are also savanna elephants. The elephants in the the bushveld areas will break trees and bushes to get to their food where as the desert elephants will gently remove the leaves without breaking the trees and bushes. This way they prolong their food supply.
I like ur videos. Just one little thing i am disappointed is that u spen kost of the time about cars and mechanical stuff rather than the local wildlife and scenery. Cars are just a mean to get there but if the whole video is about how to take care of them and driving it just sucks the good conent thaf we strive for. Just an opinion, i may be wrong. Thanks
Gets more painful to watch the longer you do... truly awful - overly dramatic over not much and too much background music/sound effects, let us hear nature not your sound effects library!
Another great episode on this massive journey, thanks for sharing!
Next time, come round the back of Puros and drop into the Hoanib river bed, head west and and come out through the Palmwag concession - some of the remotest wilderness on the face of the earth. Good luck
Love your adventure viseos. Will certainly tune into Roamingoverland to see Adrian's travels
@expedition overland, would it be possible to share your trailer design for this Africa Trip, very curious on your suspension setup?
Honestly you guys inspired me to become an overlander at this level!! Some day I will do it.
Be careful with those tyre repair tools that have plastic handles. More than one person has impaled their hand when the handle unexpectedly disintegrated. Metal handles all the way.
Adrian should be a regular team member! 😍
Nicely timed... 'What beers do you have in there?'
Come to Saudi Arabia if you want a real adventure in the Rub al-Khali desert
How are the Alu cab set ups handling the dust ? Lots getting in or are the seals up to standard 🤔
Planning a trip next year, and it is going to be epic, we did a 10 day Botswana trip last year
What an amazing adventure!!
Km x 0.625 for miles. Heard divide.
Adrian didn't shake the little kid's hand hahahaha 37:24
Hey guys! When will episode 8 be released?
That fuel from the jerry can was scary!
I just ran across this in my feed. It was the accent that caught my attention. I'm a 25 year American expat in the UK and I don't hear my accent very often any more. Good job with the kids! I've dragged my boys across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe when they were growing up here. It's helped make them the good men they are now. Namibia is one of my favourite places in the world. My boys are living back in the States now so my wife have time to go overland for a loooong trip. We are shipping our Defender to Capetown in 2026 for a year-long expedition across all the southern African countries. Cheers, y'all!
Just BINGED my way to episode 7. Now I'm sad to have to wait for the rest Also hated saying goodbye to Adriaan, Lekker men's.
Simply awesome adventure with fam and friends. Dig the spare tire fuel storage systems. I also love the challenges encountered as this is a learning moment. Last, I wonder if the BF AT’s or Muds would have performed better 🤔
Greetings from South Africa ( Hoedspruit) near the Krugerpark.
Loved to follow your journey so far!
Great series. Spectacular landscape. Good to watch you teaching your sons how to prepare fore the future-Until at 29:09 you show Eli without a seatbelt on a gravel road, while discussing the poor state of the road. You are in the vehicle that had a sidewall puncture with multiple plugs in it, increasing risk of tyre failure and roll over risk
Absolutely awesome! Well done family.
You are always welcome back to Southern Africa! I am glad that you are showing the real Africa, for many to see why I call this place home.
@roamoverlanding you made us proud boet!
Amazing episode. Gone through all till this one. Loved watching you guys!
Namíbia is underrated! A very beautiful country with super amazing and friendly people full of culture.
Anyone know what that big black coffee thermos looking thing was they showed both mornings? Interested in how they make coffee for a bunch of adults each day camping.
French press
Sickmods brother 💯💯
I really enjoy this series, great filming etc, However I would drop the narrative of how remote it is !! hundreds of tourists in rented campers crawl all over that area !! But other than that it's awesome & great to see the young fella have a crack at driving.
Beautiful but tuff trip. Good luck forward this is the best. Well done Adriaan keep on Roaming
Thanks to all the hole team
How's the oil condition through every rest stop? Do you guys check it? And at the oil change do an oil analysis.👍
This is not roads for normal cars this is really off road tracks he can find him in a riverbed hundred's of kilometres from a town and no communication.
a situation can become quickly dangerous thats is why each truck should have had at lease 2 spare tyres and lots of Diesel/petrol with them.
Still no greenland video :(
You are supposed to coat the plugs with vulcanizing rubber solution (called snot in Southern Africa)
We welcome to Zimbabwe 😊
Purros to sesfontein is one the toughest roads to travel. It will start getting better from sesfontein onwards.. travel that area regularly with standard ford ranger 👌
This has been a great series until now and I'm looking forward to what's coming. Thanks.
Hello Ashley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Plugging a sidewall is never a good idea, plugging it 15x is even worse 😂
You should also explore in east Africa (welcome to to kenya 🇰🇪)
plug the side wall using two plugs same time one horizontal and keep it in and fix the second one next to it in tight wall space keeping both together right next to another
by Aussie standards 660km between fuel isnt that much
You ain’t worth a hoot as an off-roader if you haven’t put at least one plug or more in a side wall of a tire.
well done you guys !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! another awesome video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanna gooooooo 😊😊😊😊 wow spectacular is the perfect worrd 💚💚
I like that South African flag scarf on one of the boy s neck👌
sorry as a Jamaican its curry chicken not chicken curry😂
Another awesome episode. Can't wait for the next one.
Where can I purchase those tire. Holder fuel cells
