Desserts From All Nations - Making Malva Pudding from South Africa

Hello Everyone!
It's been a while but I'm coming back with a lot of new recipes lined up.
My plan is to make the most famous dessert of each country. Its going to be a super fun and exciting series, so if you are curious like me and want to try every single dessert you can imagine come with me in this incredible journey.
I do my best and try to make one new recipe each week, obviously will see how difficult its going to be to find all the ingredients.
Like with any recipe I make or attempt to make I always try to stay true to the ingredients necessary, so forgive me if I get anything wrong and I will be more than happy to hear your take on the recipes I present to you.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sugar
2 tbsp butter
1 egg
2 tbsp Apricot Jam
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
Pinch salt
1/2 cup milk
1 tbsp white vinegar
Cream Sauce:-
1/4 cup water
125g Butter
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup Fresh Cream
