    Fun fact, Settra the Imperishable is the only guy that wasn’t gifted with magic naturally to learn magic, why? Because he’s Settra! He challenged a god of death’s grip on his undead legions by will alone in the End Times, he’s so stubborn that Belegar Ironhammer himself would tell him to cool it down.
    Given he’s absolutely shit at magic and can only deflect the most basic of magical spells on his own, and the only reason he did it was because he realised that if the Liche Priests wanted to betray him, they could since they controlled all of his undead legions. So Settra, through sheer force of will and astounding pigheadedness, learned the bare essentials so that he could keep control of his legions, permanently.
    Settra is the absolute biggest badass in the Warhammer World

    What i like most about the Tomb-Kings was that of all the Factions to help them get rid of Nagash, the SKAVEN helped them. Small correction, the rats didn't poison the river, Nagash and Arkhan put the foulest curses, it was over a year's effort of curses, upon the start of the great river vitae, which was a super nile so large you could'nt see neither of the two coasts when navigating it in the middle, and turned it into the river mortis, where a single touch would kill any mortal and simply living "near" (various dozens of kilometers) would be impossible.

    • @Alex_Fahey
      @Alex_Fahey 9 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah, that's a really weird inconsistency that GW never even thought of addressing. The natural thing would have been for each dynasty to destroy the previous dynasty's tombs. The various kings of each dynasty would probably be fine with (or at least might consider) bringing back their own granddaddy to rule barring some power-hungry exceptions. However, when the next dynasty usurps the previous dynasty and was promised to be the ruling dynasty of future utopia Nehekhara you would think that the new dynasty would ransack or demolish all the previous tombs or even simply replace all of the mummfied kings and soldiers of the previous dynasty in the tombs with their own soldiers and kings.
      The only excuse is that it is such a taboo thing to the Nehekharan mind that most would never even consider destroying a fellow king's tomb, but clearly, there were exceptions.The primary example of such an exception being Nagash himself. If Nagash was so ruthless as to tax his subjects into open revolt and monopolize all the building materials despite being immortal and having eternity to complete his project, then he would obviously cannibalize the existing ancient tombs. Namely, Settra's pyramid is right next door. He would have ripped that apart to build his own monument or even simply kicked out all of Settra's stuff and just modified Settra's pyramid to be a monument to Nagash's own glory.

      @@notinspectorgadget The Tomb Kings, known as the Priest Kings in their former lives, are the undying rulers of Nehekhara, an ancient Human civilisation that formed a great and powerful empire some two thousand five hundred years before the birth of Sigmar Heldenhammer and the founding of the Empire. Out of all the unliving creatures that would claim dominion and royalty over the dead, only the Tomb Kings could truly claim such masterful and undisputed sovereignty. For they had once ruled a mighty and far-flung empire during a time when the rest of Mankind were little more than savage barbarians.
      Long ago, during an ancient and forgotten age, Nehekhara stood as a shining beacon of civilisation and Human achievement; a golden age when its cities shone with a majestic splendour, its buildings crafted from magnificent marble and limestone, its armies capable of conquering entire kingdoms. In this long-lost age, Nehekhara's mighty rulers reigned as living gods amongst men. But this great realm was destroyed millennia ago through acts of great treachery and powerful sorcery. The living of Nehekhara perished long ago in a single, mournful night, and in their absence, the dead stirred from their graves and claimed the land anew.
      Even as their ancient civilisation now lies buried beneath the sand, its once verdant plains turned to searing desert and their mighty and glorious empire fractured and in ruin, the Tomb Kings have once more awoken from their deep sleep. Rising from their decrepit sarcophagi, the mummified rulers of Nehekhara awoke with eyes of burning balefire, their thirst for power, conquest and vengeance just as strong in death as in life.
      They have returned to reclaim that which is rightfully theirs, their legions innumerable, rising up from the scorching sand brandishing weapons of polished bronze and priceless gold. Ancient, emotionless and spiteful to all those that have slighted them, woe betide those foolish enough to stand before their silent onslaught.

They didn't have the stable system of harnessing the energy that high magic uses or the technological skill of dwarves. But just imagine the possibilities if they understood those systems and adapted them into those practices. As ever, the factions lost so much by being so very antagonistic to each other.

    Nagash buried Thutep alive because a murderer is forbidden to marry the victims wife. The queen in question was also the daughter of the sun whom was their sacred covenant with the gods made flesh. He murdered her son and only heir to make the elixir of damnation/eternal life and tricked Neferem (Thutep's wife) into drinking it and bound her to his will. Then he proceeded to abuse the shit out of her for hundreds of years culminating in him throwing her against the walls of Mahrak to break their covenant with the gods forever.

    Awesome as always, but i want to know if you skipped some important stuff about how Nagash learned to make the elixir of Immortality by first extracting the soul of people into himself to use magic (this he learned from the Dark elves) and how Nagash was shot in the head by gunners from Lahmia, not defeated outside the Gate of Khemri. I bet you have read 'The Rise of Nagash' which is a really good read, so you must be saving all the Juciy details for a spesific lore-video about that

    Rule for Immortality
    1) everyone dies. no exceptions. even those who are immortal will eventually die.
    ways to become immortal:
    1) find a way to extend your live to eternity.
    2) find a way to come back from death.
    - recipe for eternal life:
    step 1: create a new SOULLESS body. either a clone of yourself or a new construct
    step 2: transfer your soul from your old body into the new soulless container
    step 3: anchor your soul in the new body
    step 4: PROPERLY disintegrate your old body.
    step 5: repeat from step 1 until Rule 1 applies.
    - recipe for resurrection:
    step 1: prepare for your own death{
    create new incarnation.
    prepare means for returning your soul from death
    }
    step 2: die
    step 3: execute prepared means and return into the new incarnation.
    step 4: repeat from step 1 until Rule 1 applies.
