Pro MMA Fighter & PTT wrestling coach Andrew Leone shows a failed double leg take-down that switches to a very nice Judo throw (Harai Goshi) take-down.
Andrew Leone is shown working here with 21 year old muay thai phenom Antuan Pinto Siangboxing.
Antuan is currently at Phuket Top Team MMA Training Camp in Thailand training with his brother Leo as they prepare for there MMA debuts.

judo throws are by far the coolest looking takedowns
No-gi Harai goshi executed nicely, with solid single-body movement through the throw - rather than the leg and upper body moving separately.
He may not know the correct Japanese judo terminology - and it is a hip throw, but what does that matter?
The throw is done nicely, balancing on one leg. People can learn proper technique from this video.
Great video as always from Phuket Top Team!
Double Uchi Mata... funny. Good video, anyway.
That was funny...harai goshi.
Very nice effects in the end..
yes, they are training now (Antuan and Leo) but dont make debuts until Febuary (in the USA) for Infinity MMA
It is a mixture of Harai goshi and O guruma in the begining. A good Harai goshi means that only the lateral part of your upper body and hip should touch your opponent's stomach.
The man sprawling also has an opportunity to do an analogous throw, but using the whizzer instead of the underhook.
Its actaully a sweeping hip throw (harai goshi). Neverthelesd the throw was perfectly executed.
Will you be showing antuans first mma fight
my favorite throw never knew the name of it, stumbled across it wrestling
thanks for the advice - but if you read the TITLE its been called a Harai Goshi....
Andrew is not a Judo player he is a wrestler and successful MMA fighter.
This is a move he uses that happens to also be something that comes from Judo.
In that position i prefer going for an actual uchi-mata cuz in case I fail i have a lot of follow ups I can use fron that position like harai goshi, sumi gaeshi or kani basami (scissor). But uchi mata is harder to do for people who arent used to judo and harai is easier.
very nice
That is a Harai goshi.... not an uchi mata smh...
sweet bro...
Agüita chiquita volada
yep Harai Goshi. I teach something very similar
What about the submarine?
Just because it's the internet - That is definitely O Guruma. The leg is acting like a fulcrum you throw him over instead of performing a sweep on the hip
What is this song at the end??? Its deadly
Wu tang that’s a rza beat! The jump off
that's a great video. just a thought, you could get a student to do the technique too. then we might get to see you correct some common mistake that we will all likely make. and get to show a bit of teaching style. cheers, keep em coming
guess you haven't seen it all right? elbow/shoulder tear from morote seoi is fairly common in a similar position as show in this video, seen that one? I'm sure the ppl you've been around have had enough sense not to try one-handed Harai anyway.
If someone could explain to me, why would you stand up with the underhook instead of just reshooting deeper into the double so you actually get the takedown. Its a cool throw but doesn't seem as realistic and gives up on all the work it took to get to the guys hips/legs.
***** this is just in case your double fails and if you try to go deeper you risk giving up your back
a lot of guys who are more comfortable standing will try to pull you up with the whizzer, that's when its the best time
lol I thought it was Dominic Cruz for a second.
Hi ! I think you make a mistake with the name of the young Muay thaï champion with you, it's Antoine !
uhh has anyone been able to just simply stand up as demonstrated in 0:49? Seems like it would require incredible strength against a properly sprawling opponent.
wrestled for 12 years never been taught to put my head inside on a failed double. A good wrestler would flatten you there.
If you went in properly with good posture(head up) then yes you could come to standing with the underhook.
agreed ...but only with your head outside. Inside, you'd get stuffed or headlocked.
andrew that's harai goshi.
Do they hit this one in wrestling. (Don't mean to ask a silly question - I'm not a wrestler).
No way that would work against a skilled wrestler. He would use the whizzer correctly. Rob Koll has an amazing DVD about how to use it correctly v=YJbll50iKLo
o guruma
Beautiful set up but its not an uchi matta its hari goshi
"Double Uchi Mata" ... ok.
Uchi mata............................
3:10
No such thing as a double uchimata...What you appear to be doing is wheeling/rotating your partner over your hip, as opposed to sweeping him. As you only have one arm wrapped around him you can't really pull him in a focused manner the way you could with two arms. It's clearly effective. So that's good. Carry on.
I like it, but isn't that Harai goshi?
judo is the best!!!
Muay Thai is he best
@@mmaking8664 both are best !
lol "double uchi mata"
teehee
Ahahaha!!! xD
No its a double leg throw🤓
instead of being a keyboard teacher why don't you upload and show it to us?
They give us great technique and all you can do is try to find things to critisize.
@NK you can just send me a link to one of your teaching videos thank you.
first
beautiful but innefective
