Chris if you can afford it I recommend you do several sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, it is extremely effective in helping with brain injuries. You will also have to make changes to your diet, get rid of all processed foods and seed oils and I recommend you go on a low-carb diet or carnivore. Good that you just mentioned you are doing it.

Glad you’re back bro! I honestly had a stroke in February myself. First month is horrible. I sounded like bobcat goldthwait for weeks. It’s so good to know people still care. Thank god you here with us

There are worse people you could have sounded like. You might have sounded like the Mel Blanc spoof of Hitler! (See "Daffy the Commando.") Uncontrollable screaming intermixed with gibberish meat terms and a faint yiddish accent!

Welcome back Chris! I am grateful to see you doing so well after such a scary incident. Also Kudos to Alan and the rest of the Film Threat team for stepping in to support Chris and keep the Film Threat community going with amazing reviews, interviews, and updates. You should all be very proud of how well you handled this adversity. I wish each and every one of you the best going forward.
Our Dad had a stroke back in 2017 just as he retired. He fell over and lost his ability to talk. A month later he was gone. So it just goes to show you can never tell. In that respect it's good that you were able to recover Chris. Just take it easy and make the most of what you can. God bless. It figures that your friends and fans were the ones who helped and wished you well while no one in the industry did anything.

God, I am so sorry. My father-in-law was 6 months from retiring and had a major stroke. He is still with us but quite disabled. It is hard to see a man brought low like that. I'm so sorry you lost your father. Life is so full of cruel chaos.
@@toweypatThanks He was married for almost 50 years to our Mom. . He had had cancer which was in remission but the stroke was what did it. Again it could happen to anyone at any time. My brother and I have tied up loose ends since then and help our Mom out with everything but what can you do? It's part of life sadly. You just have to deal with it and move on. Thankfully my niece has helped out Mom to get over it . After all his troubles are over. it's the living that have to deal with it.
I hear you. Our Dad was a Vietnam vet with honors and was very intelligent. He taught us to work and help around the house even when my brother and I didn't want to. He was tough but always fair. I still remember getting spanked for taking money from our Moms purse when I was 11 or so. Stopped after that. lol. In a way I'm glad he passed away shortly after the stroke. He wasn't happy not being able to talk and taking care of him would have been a huge strain on Mom so he's better off. It sucks but no one lives forever. Frankly I wouldn't want to . Lol. But thanks for the kind words.

Physicals therapy to recover from your stroke couldn't have been cheap or easy! Neither is living in the state of California these days.
It isn't much but anything we can do to offset the cost of your recovery bills from this goes a long way! The fellowship takes care of its own!

Love you, Chris Gore. So happy you're well, and back to doing this. We've missed you. I hope you'll explain the symptoms of a stroke to people at every opportunity, now, as it seems many people don't know what those are, and as I'm sure you've learned through this, the sooner a person can get treatment the better. Strokes are not something to mess around with. I unfortunately have a history of strokes in my family and I think it's likely I will have one myself someday when I get older. I hope if/when I do, I'll have people around me who recognize what's happening and get me to a hospital as quickly as possible.

Take care of yourself Chris. My dad had 4 minor strokes over a decade that he all bounced back from before the 5th one was just like you see in a TV a show. Good to see you back man, best wishes.

Great to see you back Chris. As someone who has seen both my parents and my aunt deal with a stroke I know how bad they can be. Glad that your recovery is going well and hopefully you continue improving.
You can't keep a LEGEND down! Very happy to see Chris back in the saddle.
About 10 years ago my dad suffered two strokes simultaneously followed by a third a few hours later. He had to relearn to write and had extensive speech therapy. At 82, he made a 98% recovery. Dad is a Mason and he credited all of the memorization of dialogue that he had to do for ceremonies with the recovery of his speech.
Hang in there, keep reading books aloud (as you indicated) and maybe even commit a few favorite passages to memory.

So glad to see you recovering so well, Chris. My sister had a stroke several years ago, and I know how scary it is. It was a long, hard road back for her, and today she is doing great, thank God. And thank God you are on your feet functioning at a high level. Please take care of yourself. Stay healthy! And if there is any changes in your life you can make to keep healthy, just stick to it, and stay positive and healthy. God bless you, and it's great to see you back!
