Ken is not only a great guitarist, he is an amazing musician and a true Gent, please subscribe to this gentleman's channel and help the cause,he really does deserve it!Let's make one of his ambitions to produce his own guitar brand.Because the strat he made a while ago was one gorgeous looking axe!And also sounded beautiful. He works really hard to get his content out there and really deserves something great to come out of all his projects!
Hi ken i found your guitar playing an inspiration so i thought i would learn this only been playing a couple of months and i found your teaching method really easy to follow i am getting on a bit now who said you cant learn an old dog new tricks thank you so much
Hello Tony, you are very welcome! I'm very pleased to hear you are inspired by my playing and that you find my videos easy to learn from! That makes me really happy! Thank you for your kind message! Wishing you much enjoyment and success with it, kind regards, Ken :-)
Unlike many things in life, where I wish I could get my time back, this video has given me countless of those hours back. Thanks so much. That'll make this a lot easier to get to the trickier volume control subtleties that make this song so hauntingly beautiful. Happy Holidays
@@kenmercermusic I'm an old man now so I appreciate any "time" that comes back to me, these days, so I'm sincerely grateful. I'll think of it as a Christmas gift from you. LOLOL
@@kenmercermusic Yes and no! I picked up my first ever classical guitar recently, so I've been focused on adjusting to that style (also, I'd injured a muscle in my index finger, so the light action of the strings is giving it time to heal, while still working it a little) Needed a short break from the months of intensive of relearning recording engineering digitally with a DAW. Gave me something to focus on during the lock down. LOL Last night I was listening to my old recording of Let It Be Me, as for some reason it was on my mind. LMAO What have you been up to, my friend? Not sure if I asked before, you on Twitter?
Oh, sorry to hear about the finger problem, that's a guitarists worst nightmare. Good that you are still managing with a nylon string though, at least you can still play something. I guess coming from analogue recording to digital must be quite strange, it has some wonderful advantages though...less space needed, less cables and power outlets, and editing is super easy. Analogue is a much warmer sound although it is getting better and better as the years pass. There are some great tape emulators out there! I'm spending much of the lockdown learning computer languages, I found a new passion during this time at home. To be honest I haven't played so much guitar lately. I have a twitter account but I never use it. I'm on Facebook if you use that? Failing that you can always use email to contact me, it's on my website on the contact page. What DAW are you using?
Thanks for the tutorial Ken. It's on my bucket list to play this on my electric guitar and this vid is making it possible ;-). Excellent step by step tutorial. all the best ;-)
I am into Cavatina on my classical guitar and doing barre is not easy..Oh my left hand. But I become accustomed to it anyway. Also I think of getting strat one day, I believe its clean tone definitely fit well on the piece(and doing barre on strat is maybe somehow easy haha). Thanks for your tutorial! By the way your guitar looks beautiful.
Yes barre is easier on electric, the strings are softer and tighter together in comparison with the classical guitar. Good luck and have fun playing! Thanks! :-)
Hi Ken, just like to thank you for all the help and inspiration you have gifted me,I wouldn't be playing guitar if it wasn't for you!I would like to ask if you have ever heared of Mark Allen,he is a busker from my home town but now resides in nearby Cardiff. If you get the time can you look him up on RUclips and tell me what you think of his music, thanks!Take care my friend all the best Wayne.
Thank you Wayne! I am so glad I have been able to help you to play guitar, the Internet is a great tool for both learning from and teaching others. I think I have heard the name 'Mark Allen', will definitely check him out. Thanks for the kind words. Take my friend, I hope all is well with you. :-)
@@kenmercermusic You never know Ken ony day I maybe able to repay you in some way!Myself, wife and her family were sat around dinner today, and she made a joke about you.She was telling her Mum about how much time I am spending in the back room with my guitars."Its that bloody Ken Mercer to blame" she preceded to tell her Mum!lol! All jokes aside she loves your music, especially your work with the Strat.I have even got my Dad listening to you,he loves the Shadows and also thinks your work is excellent. He was in tears listening to you playing Cavatina the other day,it was also one of my late brothers favourite tunes he loved the film Deer Hunter also. But he surely loved that tune. And it is a tune I love playing myself, especially since I have been using a single coil strat with vibrato with passive pickups.I thought I couldn't live without active pick ups and the creamy tone they gave me on the neck pick up on my Schecter Omen. They are only stock pick ups but I love the tone,it is quite dark for some, but I was obsessed by it.Any way thanks to you when I sold my SG,I purchased a squire vintage Strat,I know it's not the real deal, but she plays beautifully, after just filing a few of the frets.Anyway Ken Thanks again and I do really wish you all the best for now and the future.Take Care!
Hi Micky, I didn't find those tabs no and I've been super busy with a new project I'm working on so no time to write any new tabs now. I hope you are well my friend, all the best, Ken :-)
There are two ways to do that John. 1. Buy a controller pedal board designated for Guitar Rig 2. Take a cable from your audio interface, output it to an amp, and use a regular swell pedal somewhere between the interface and the amp. Cheers :-)

Awesome Ken. Can I get a swell pedal that will connect with GR5
There are two ways to do that John.
1. Buy a controller pedal board designated for Guitar Rig
2. Take a cable from your audio interface, output it to an amp, and use a regular swell pedal somewhere between the interface and the amp.
