Yeah as a husky fan it’s been pretty interesting seeing his stock rise and rise. Going into the season I don’t think he was even a second round pick and now all of a sudden some mocks have him as a top 10 guy. Same with jayden Daniels.

Lombardi is by far the best guest on this show - he knows the game from the business side to the front office to the field. I’ve been a fan of Penix since he was at Indiana - glad to see him blossom as a thrower at Washington.

Penix is the best QB in the draft and has superstar potential, he has the best arm, accuracy and throws a beautiful ball, his command of that high powered Washington offense is so fun to watch.

I really like Penix but it’s a stretch to say he is the best QB in the draft. I’ll say he is the most accurate but not the best. Him having 3 really good receivers helps him a lot. I think him going to Minnesota or Seattle. Maybe even Washington will help him alot in the NFL considering they have top tier receivers

I know Carolina Panthers regret moving up in the draft for Bryce Young compared to the amount of amazing QBs coming out this year, and Penix is the best out the bunch to me.

To give credit where due, Sark started the turnaround...
DeBoer's system is next level. Penix is phenomenal, but part of that is because of the offense DeBoer utilizes. And a big part of that are the blocking schemes that the o line runs. Not only are they elite at pass blocking, but they move bodies out of the way for run lanes. Sweat and Murphy deserve the accolades they've received this year, and the guys that fill in for them are really good as well. Johnson didn't get gashing runs, yet he did get two TDs at the goal line and two or three first downs, plus 1 for two on 4th down carries. That's the o line grinding it out, including the small center who played like a beast when EVERYONE said he would get rolled over. GO DAWGS!!
That is definitely something a lot of people. Don’t realize he is not very mobile. He’s an old school style pocket passer he needs a good offensive line, and Washington has probably the best line in all of college football
What people generally overlook is that Washington's recruiting class has no 5-star commits in any year. The team is populated with 3 and 4-star athletes which makes DeBoer's job there even more impressive. If this year's Husky team was wearing any SEC teams uniform they'd be favored by 7+ in the National Championship Game.
For the record Michigan isn't loaded with 5*s either. That team is built with development as well

@@javierfernandez2576 isolation in the Pacific Northwest. They do well in California - mostly UCLA/USC leftovers. Thankfully, the metrics ESPN uses for their rankings exclude intelligence. Just listen to the young men on this team. To a person they come off as quite capable upstairs and motivated which isn’t always the case with the cream of the crop. Cream being thicker 😉

Only reason Oregon has gotten more coverage last few decades is Nike money, usc and ucl have the LA market so things cater more but the rest of the former pac 12 gets scraps coverage wise. It's nothing new

West Coast teams doesn't get shine because our teams play 7pm pt time. That's 10pm start time on the Eastern time zone. They don't watch west coast games over there and that what killed this conference.

The best fits for him to hit the ground running with good weapons is Atlanta Minnesota or Seattle with the Seattle probably being the best fit with dk nijiba and Tyler lockett with that run game would be perfect
They are definitely the best fit in terms of weapons, but both teams have pretty terrible offensive lines especially my poor Seahawks lol I would say more of a fit in Seattle tho even with the line because Minnesota if they’re not stupid still has a top 10 borderline top five quarterback when he is healthy

I would love to have him that way he could develop behind Geno for a year, but it’s a terrible fit because he would go from an offensive line that lets him sit back there all day to one where he has to run for his life on every play he is primarily a pocket passer, which is a terrible combination with how atrocious our offensive line is

I wanted the GIANTS to draft Jayden Daniel’s, but now I am hoping for Pennix.
We don’t have the OL to protect Penix. He’d be finished behind the line we have right now.
He should have won the Heisman. You can tell by everyone all of a sudden being "amazed" by his abilities, have prob just watched the first game of his, and these are sports "analysts", sports show hosts, reporters and journalists, and now they are all talking about him as if they just learned about him yesterday. He's been doing this for awhile now going back to last season, the real ones know, all these casuals acting like they've known are clowns. East coast bias is real, its why every single one of these analysts were saying "Texas D Line is going to destroy them" , but seem to be unaware that the huskies have a really good OLine and QB, and why he wasn't touched once. It sad tho cause a lot of these clowns are the reason that Penix didnt win the Heisman and Odunze didnt win the Biletnikoff, two guys that helped create the best passing offense in college football.

Gotta give a lot of credit to UW coaches and staff, they've created a national championship caliber team but did it through the transfer portal and developing guys. All these other schools like Bama, Michigan, Georgia, Ohio St, Texas and so on, get all these top recruiting classes every year with a bunch of 5 star prospects, and the NIL deals have made it easier, but its cool to see a school who actually had to do it the hard way and develop, get creative in recruiting, find lesser known products that are good, and find transfer guys like a Penix. Its why I am rooting for them to win the championship.

Yes. But it is vastly different. Penix two acl injuries that has hampered his mobility. That being said I want the Pat's to take him or Daniels. 2 vastly different qbs but I think the 2 with the highest upside.

Penix has the best arm in college FB this season... He can spin the ball like an NFL QB, with his 11 inch hands ... but as Lombardi says here, his "stiff lower body" is the only rub... Penix has had injuries.
Either Daniels or Penix to the Falcons should be a lock if either of them have a chance to fall to us or heck im trading up a bit for either of them if need be.

Oregon deflected 3 of his passes in that first game in Seattle. They put a lot of pressure on him and hurt his ribs bad. Outplayed the Huskies but still lost. No other team has been able to get to him like that.
Penix is a sixth year senior if he was a good quarterback he should have been in his first of second year in the NFL at least. Never spend a top 10 pick on a sixth year senior.
He also has time to throw the ball that he will never see again after this final game.

@@matthewhuszarik4173 Michael Penix leads the nation in passing yards by alot, and he's the first QB since Patrick Mahomes to have back to back 4500 yard passing seasons. Penix is ELITE and is the #1 passer in the nation. Other QBs dink and dunk don't pass deep much and don't have the attempts of Penix.
