Every time I hear this sound it always reminds me of the time I was running the laps and I forgot to tell my coach that I had asthma and thyroid disease, during the thirty fourth lap I blacked out, I thought I blacked out but turns out the coach told me the story the next day and he said he thought I was faking it so he told me to wake up but I wasn't moving, he said he thought I just passed out but turns out he said he didn't know I had asthma and when I went into oxygen dept and passed out, after I passed out I had an asthma attack and went into cardiac arrest, and I forgot to mention the I was like two hundred pounds back then, I was fat and I also had sleep apnea. That's also why I'm home schooled now, I went home that day and my mom said she wants me home schooled for now on but she didn't sue them because they didn't know I had those problems.

Oh, the feeling of getting out before the test hits 15 only to see that one kid make it to like 62 or something... I remember getting out at 8 when I was in elementary school and then I had to sit by the wall and watch with embarrassment as some kid made it up to 62 and got a gatorade from the teacher afterwards. I think the schools record was 72 last I heard. No idea how any kid survived until that point Edit: I also wanna note that for my school, 15 was all you needed to pass the pacer. I see other people saying they need like 30-40 to pass and with that sort of score of course 8 is gonna look super small, but in my school it wasn't really that far from passing. If I got an 8 and I was supposed to get a 40, trust me, I wouldn't have admitted to such a bad score lmao

You can imagine the dread that was on my face when my friends and I walked onto the PE area and saw those damned cones set up on the blacktop. I believe 41 was the minimum for an A in our school, but I always settled for a B at 31. That test was a different kind of pain.
@@summerwindsnap Dang, I’m sorry that happened to you. I remember students with health problems like asthma got approval from the teachers and admins in order to skip the test because things could happen to them. I believe they still had to participate, but it was never for a grade so they would mainly jog for a little and then stop when they had difficulty breathing.
Y’all were graded on how far you got? My teachers graded on how much effort put forth - if you only made it to 5 but you actually tried, you got a 100 For the longest time, I could only get to 12 because of Siclic Vomiting Syndrome, and I still got a 100
@@gunnar4838 we’re always told that the only thing that matters is our motivation and how seriously we’re taking PE, and that that’s what’s supposed to determine our grades, yet they end up being lazy and just giving grades based on how long we can run this shitty test, so if you don’t spend your free time on sports and have spend months if not years to build up condi, too bad you’re failing at school.
@@gunnar4838 the time speeds up every 7 rounds from what I remember. Students with shorter legs are at a disadvantage since if you aren't fast enough you'll be put out after your second time missing the end line. This test is not a good indicator of health since it has this speed component built into it. Endurance testing would be more reasonable if they didn't expect everyone to run at the same pace. I was able to run the test fine in school except I would always end up being a few feet behind the line when it got to around 21. I wasn't tired or unhealthy, just disqualified because I was too slow.

I remember when I did this a few times in school. It gives me nostalgia vibes. The last time I went, it went on for so long that other classmates in the gym tried to convince me to stop running since I got the highest score possible. It got to 150 and the gym teacher stopped the tape. The time before that, in middle school, a classmate kept getting in my way when I was running, because basically no one could play or anything until everyone finished testing. I particularly enjoy testing myself athletically, so I wonder what I would have been at if the tape had kept running. Fun memories, though.
I usually got from around 40-70 (depending on what I did during my summer lol) but dang ONE HUNDRED FIFTY! That is awesome! While I do enjoy running, I'm surprisingly good at sit-ups. I've maxed out to 80 since 4th grade so I guess everyone has there strengths. Great job by the way!
@@boxiisock Yeah man, I feel like I starter overachieveing as such a young age that I was just a more athletically capable person, despite being skinny. I'm proud of what I was able to accomplish back then. But even now I'm still skinny in size, though I'm 6'2 and I'm really well defined in my muscles. It'll be hard to get myself into my best shape, but I should be there probably within the next 2 years. We'll just have to see. I HATED DOING THIS AT SCHOOL- actually, I’m at my last year of high school AND WERE STILL DOING IT- tho I was half exempted, I have a breathing problem so the teacher told me to do it and not to force myself if I couldn’t anymore. It would still count for my report card but less than others, instead he’d higher another sport’s percentage so it would be equal.
Same here but I still always went until my lungs felt like they were bleeding, i'd usually be in the top 3 left and then go die in a corner for 20 minutes

@@gunnar4838 the time speeds up every 7 rounds from what I remember. Students with shorter legs are at a disadvantage since if you aren't fast enough you'll be put out after your second time missing the end line.
Btw, I'm glad to hear you found your strengths, just make sure you don't let that go. Keep on improving mate :)
Thanks and good luck to you too :)
Only me and two other kids in I believe 5th grade were able to exceed 50, and we all ended up stopping shortly after panting hard with our faces red
Bruh only a few times? I had to do this crap weekly all three years of middle school.
I would go my slowest and jam to the bop of a song it added to it with my friends.
elon musk: makes breakthrough vr portals that show other dimensions
the guy testing it: the first 10 seconds
I love how this guy got so bored he drew on the ground using his sabers
Ya lol
i’ve decided we all do this on beat saber while waiting lol
Childhood trauma of just about puking after the running has come back to me in a few damn words :']
My childhood trauma just entered that chat ass soon as they said the fitness gram pacer test
The FitnessGram PACER Test is a multistage aerobic capacity test that progressively gets more difficult as it continues. The test is used to measure a student's aerobic capacity as part of the FitnessGram assessment. Students run back and forth as many times as they can, each lap signaled by a beep sound.
Tried just by looking and this
In the 5th grade I remember I was the only one who got to (75 the max) on the fitness gram pacer test even though I couldn’t breathe cuz I have asthma and on the last lap the boys were cheering me on and at the end I finally got to lay down and everyone jumped on top of me and was hyping me up. I am now currently in bed with a bag of hot Cheetos in hand and just got on RUclips because there was an ad on Hulu.
mood
Same, I was the only one in my grade
No you didn't.
I got to 13 👍
@@Lance-The-BoS-Lancer maybe they did, who knows. Im sure it’s possible

The second time you fail to complete a lap before the sound vour test is over. The test will begin on the word start. On your mark, get ready, start
I’d rather see him doing the thing more instead of hearing the intro. I’ve already heard the intro enough in my life 😂
One time in 5th grade, it was me and this one kid left at lap 80-something. Class ended, so neither of us could complete it.
A friend of mine named Tyler got 113 almost the state record for 8th grade lol
My friend and I were told to stop because we went too high and were supposed to change before the bell rang. I was going for the high score, man, I know how you feel.
@Hazel Zackey
I have no clue, I never got that far.
@Bubbleguppy looked it up 247 or around there
@Bubbleguppy yea I barely got it and it sucked a lot after
My tummy did that little drop thing for a split second when I heard this. Ahhh the sounds of middle school
Jesus Christ middle school was terrible
Me I the beginning or gym
My heart be like:😭😱😮💨🏃♀️🏃♀️👁👄👁
Me acting dramatic in gym like omg my heart…
I remember one time this kid did the most of em, like 70, but at the end he slipped on a mat and hit the double doors in the cafeteria causing them to open. The hit the pole in between the doors straight on full force💀💀
Oh gosh ☠️☠️
I've got 38 because I was too lazy to run
Procrastination was hitting early🤡
My highest one was about 30-40.
In my 5th grade one i got 10 😭😭😭
Near or over 100 almost threw up on teacher at the end I can’t remember exact score
This reminds me of a beep test in school
I love how they get so bored that they start drawing with the lasers
If he goes any faster, he’d be flying away. Kind of reminds me of flappy bird in a way
I HATED DOING THIS AT SCHOOL- actually, I’m at my last year of high school AND WERE STILL DOING IT- tho I was half exempted, I have a breathing problem so the teacher told me to do it and not to force myself if I couldn’t anymore. It would still count for my report card but less than others, instead he’d higher another sport’s percentage so it would be equal.
Damn I haven't had to do it yet and I'm in 9th
Same but I have asthma
Same here but I still always went until my lungs felt like they were bleeding, i'd usually be in the top 3 left and then go die in a corner for 20 minutes
I hate doing the Pacer especially cuz my school has everything under stage 100 an f or d soo..
That sucks, PE isn't required after 10th grade at my school
We can all agree that the FitnessGram Pacer Test was the biggest generational mass trauma incident since WWII
Bro I remember doing this in middle school! And I had a strong competitive spirit, too, so I kept going until I was the last and i think I got to 75. Anyway I felt sick the rest of that day lol
I got to 7 in 8th grade.
What kind of superhuman are you 😭😭
@@pumpkinface6621 Just try to keep running and ignore that your tired
@@Dynothru my legs were about to fall apart if i ran anymore like i wouldve actually fallen over 💀

The first like hour of waiting for the guy to stop speaking was so accurate
When I did these tests I loved mocking his deep breaths. For some reason the narrators deep breaths made me laugh in middle school
Every time we did this in class, I had a mysterious injury. Luckily we always did it in the winter, so ‘I slipped and hurt my knee’ was pretty believable
Lmao
Funny thing is I actually got injured and I have a scar because of it
We normally do it in spring lol-
God the music’s givin me a mixture of anxiety and nostalgia
