I ordered a Diablo Predator 2 for my 2014 5.3L Silverado to disable the AFM-DOD. It arrived June 20, 2020. For the price, it was better to buy this unit than pay a mechanic to do the disable as the Predator 2 gives you more options for other features. I thought however the user manual was rather incomplete on the step-by-step instruction to perform the AFM disable function. Stumbling my way through...assuming a few things, I had success. After a 1 hour test drive, my Silverado fully maintained the V-8 mode. I will form an opinion later whether I will recommend this product to others.
The manual is kind of crappy, i agree mine has stayed in v8 mode since I disabled it in this video, thanks for watching.

How did it work out for you ?I'm thinking of purchasing one myself just got a dod delete kit installed and want to disable dod and remove check engine codes .

I ordered one for a 2012 charger, they said 3 business days to recode it for my car, it has now been 1 month and still haven't heard a word from them and when I call them they tell me the same bs, that it's "1 person" handling it all. So my question is, why is the bs product 400 dollars?

@@RJsGarages i currently have a 2009 tahoe 5.3 ltz flex.. i usually run 87 and i still get 13.4mpg city in m5 mode no v4... im gonna do the dod disable.. what other thinks have you done to yours?? Mine idles at 500 so i think im gonna bump it up to 600??
@@RJsGarages what did you do to help with gas mileage i just did dod disable and looks like it lost 2 mpgs went from 23 to 21 on the highway and around 11.4 in city now
Did you change cams and lifters or just do the tune without changing any engine components

Possibly, but I think the police are to busy arresting people for going to work, then to worry about your trucks tuning/chip.
probably more likely that you would fail emmsions or something, you can put your original tune back in for when you need emissions inspection though.
Maybe in like Australia, it doesn't effect emissions i think you're okay.

I’m installing a DOD AFM delete kit. Can I use this to tune the truck or do I need to take it to a shop?
This would probably work, but for the cost of the diablo it may be cheaper to have the shop tune it.

How is the tune holding up? I'm wanting to do this for my 2006 Envoy Denali with the afm 5.3 liter.
Great so far, you can tell diffenece alot when cruising on the highway and it isnt constantly switching back and forth from 4 cyl to 8cyl mode. I
am going to change the spark plugs soon and try the economy tune.
Right now it is getting 14.4 mpg before i disabled the AFM it was getting like 14.7 so hoping i can get it up to 15mpg.
