This is the game where I've seen more expressions from Link than in any other game, not even in Skyward Sword. This game is a masterpiece, from the beginning to the end. It has been undervalued many times but it's awesome and also it offers what until now no other Zelda game has done except OoT: adult and pretty realistic atmosphere.
That made my day ❤
Isn't it interesting how this Link can turn into a Wolf, talk to animals, ride a horse/giant boar, pet dogs, utilize a Hawk for item retrieval.... but BOTW Link is called the Hero of the Wild??

I love how he’s so shocked when the monsters run through the gate and shoot Ilia/knock Link out, because in the manga it’s 10 times worse ( Link finds a half-dead villager, leaves Rusl who essentially dies the minute Link leaves to go save the village kids, Ilia gets hit with about three arrows trying to protect Colin, Colin gets brutally knocked out and tied to a pole, and Link loses his arm when fighting the big horse-riding moblin and is left to drown in the lake )

it still weirds me out seeing this whole game backwards after spending my childhood playing the Wii version
What is the difference, I have the game cube version from my aunt but I’ve still never played it
Literally the entire world is flipped, like through a mirror. Thats what the difference is.
@@negativedawn136 they mirrored the entire game so that Link would be right-handed for the Wii version, since it used motion controls to swing the sword and stuff, and most people are right-handed.
@Russian Toilette they actually do have that option in the HD re-release. its a part of the "Hero mode" they added in that makes the game more challenging.
This is the original, it's the wii version that's fucking backwards
Watching a grown man react to a game with the same joy and morbid fascination as i experienced back on the GameCube is honestly some of the best content you have ever put out. I hope you can continue to enjoy yourself!

Man the music in Twilight Princess is SO GOOD. Many themes are great but I love the dynamic feel of it. Like how in the boss fights when the boss is down, it changes from the “spooky boss music” to a “GO! NOW’S YOUR CHANCE!” version of the main theme.
I REALLY hope BotW 2 has at least a little more music working like Twilight Princess does when it comes out
BotW has dynamic music too, but it's definitely more subtle to suit the tone of the game. But yeah, I'd love some more bombastic stuff for TotK's bosses in particular!
My brother and I called the happy bit when the weak spot is exposed 'hack and slash', cause thats what you do and you can sing to the tune of the song. "Hack and slash and hack and slash, hack and slash and hack and slash, hack and slash and hack and slash and hack and slash and slash and hack."

Me 2 man me 2 it gives me nostalgia
The killing animations and the sword techniques were my favorite parts about this when I was a kid. You can’t help but feel awesome when you do them. Especially the cool flip around when you barely kill something and sheathe your sword. You look just too awesome for the world to deal with.
Then there’s the reason why I love it now, which is every reason before (that I want in BOTW2), the writing and the fact that there’s a reason for every major item to be where it is. (Water Temple Clawshot because it’s underneath the sky city, where it likely fell from, and so on. Blew my mind when I realized it.) Not to mention the amazing feeling in these boss fights that I really want them to bring back.
THE WATER TEMPLE IS A BROKEN OFF SKY TEMPLE, NANI!?!? HOW HAVE I NOT REALIZED THIS!!
@@seasnaill2589 lots of stuff implied that it was repurposed from a chunk of the Sky city. The giant cylinder for the boss fight is one part that seems like it. It’s like there were bits and pieces from the sky cities and then the Zora build on top of it.

It's so fun seeing someone go through (and enjoy) a game for the first time! Seeing there smiles, shocked expressions, and problem-solving; sometimes on the same parts I smiled, was surprised, or had to think, and sometimes on completely different parts.

this, i enjoyed this. twilight princess is one of my fave of the loz games, and gotta say, your jokes are spot on, and i really enjoyed seeing you react to the game
I think it is my absolute favorite I love the characters and the darker storyline
SuperDragon 050 The funniest thing about how people call TP “dark” is that it’s... really not. I mean, yeah it’s dark for a ZELDA game, and it has several creepy or even disturbing moments. But it has just as many wholesome and lighthearted moments. It’s tone is a lot like LotR. That epic fantasy atmosphere with a little creepy that gives it a unique feel.
@@fihyrulesmonado7659 I think of TP as a shallow dark. Like, the lights are out but you can adjust to it well enough to push through. MM on the other hand is hauntingly dark... It has political tension, star-crossed lovers, starvation, torture, abducted children, alien abduction and a lot more just as themes in the game. I'm glad I didn't understand any of it as a kid, I never would have been able to process all of it emotionally.
@@Meidoification I kind of agree, but also disagree. I don't think I explained my thoughts on it well in my previous comment.
The thing about these two games is that even though both of them are "dark", that's a very broad term, and the two are actually dark in very different ways.
In MM, there's a kind of... hopeless feel to everything. Just knowing that whatever you do, it doesn't matter, because the moon will crush everything impersonally and impassionately, leaves the whole game with a sad, creepy and hopeless feeling. You're stuck in this loop of destruction, and it feels like no matter what you do, the moon is unstoppable. This is offset only by the happy message of those who manage to find peace and happiness even staring death straight in the face, and with their help, the moon is finally stopped.
In TP, on the other hand, it's more... personal. You confront all kinds of loss, tragedy and evil. Each loss cuts you to the core because... you KNOW these people. You know the village children, you know Midna and Zelda, and you know Link. As the Hero, you must face these challenges alone. The symbolism of Link becoming a wolf has always been a subject of debate within the TP community, but to me it's obviously a literal representation of a "lone wolf". In human form, Link is probably the most popular and respected he's ever been! Collin's like a brother to him, and he has tight bonds with the rest of the villagers too. In wolf form however, he's despised as a monster, unseen by any other entity in the Twilight, stuck in a position only he can comprehend, and his only companion is an alien who treats him as a slave. But it's not hopeless. As you face each and every one of the challenges in this game, hearts begin to change. You BECOME the hope for those who had none, slowly but surely restoring the land of Hyrule to a prosperous, happy kingdom. Even Midna begins to grow as Link's actions bring light back into her shadowy heart. I could go on and on about this game, talking about everything it does that no other story dares to attempt. But for now, let's just say that the dark tone of Twilight Princess is simply a veil, like Twilight itself, that you must lift from Hyrule.
TLDR; These games are dark in very different ways, so much so that they're basically incomparable. Wolf Link represents a literal "lone wolf", and both games have themes of bringing hope to a world that has none. Thank you for reading my impassioned essay, I hope it didn't bore you.
its my favourite, although thats also bc of nostalgia
"This game is so calming!" As link grossly transforms into wolf link
A little detail about link and the ocoocoo(idk how to spell it) is that he’s totally weirded out by them in the forest temple but by the final dungeons he’s happy to see them with a smile on his face. Also midna’s voice lines are in reverse audio
This game was my intro to Zelda, and I'm so glad you've been enjoying it so much!
