Is that a new intro I see? I love the way it looks! (Although I assume it is just for this video)
This was a solid tribute to Twilight Princess. Many good points.
Thank you bread! I may or may not keep it, I'm not to sure yet
@@InfamousZelda I'm not going to watch your video, but if you believe the title of your video than I think you're a homosexual.
The bread pirate in a Infamous Zelda video? Cool!
Yup! We planned on doing a collab a long time ago, but IRL stuff prevented it from happening. @@Familyguyland

@@paugas6352 You make everyone miserable.😥
Twilight Princess is like.. so polished, well rounded and mature. It does a good job of summing up the spirituality of the series.
All of that without DLC crap.
What she said 😊😊
@@saricubra2867 Facts.
yes but if we are honest it missed out on alot of opportunities but even with that its my favorite zelda game ever, even with totk being out now
it feels like 100% zelda and miyamoto said to aonuma it has to be 120% zelda and i guess that summs it up pretty good
I always apreciated Twilight Princess, and seeing it a part of a trilogy with OoT and MM makes me apreciate it even more
Same here really. It never really clicked that OoT through Twilight Princess really is a trilogy. Same hyrule, same history, same Link is in all 3 games.
@@biffbroham The way I understand it, this Trilogy takes place after Link gets sent back in Time after defeating Ganon in OOT and warning Zelda about Ganondorf (as a child, still retaining his memories of the events in Ocarina). Far as I know these are the only three Games in a Row that have the same Link, Zelda and Ganondorf in them and therefore the only true Trilogy in the series. Also that would mean that Link becomes an Adult twice in the Trilogy.
Fourlagy with skyward sword
@@herschelschueler OOT, MM, and TP are not the only games. LttP, LA, and the oracle games are 4 games in a row with the same Link, Zelda, and Ganon.
@David Kotlarz really? Huh. The vide I always got was this was a separate Link and Zelda (same Ganondorf) from OoT, with the Hero’s Shade being OoT Link.
I grew up on twilight princess so it will always hold a special place in my heart, right next to ocarina of time.
Me too :)
This and Skyward sword rule!
@@InfamousZelda If you’re a friend of TP, then your a friend of me.🥹
I feel like the music in twilight princess is the best music in a zelda game.
Agree
Same, although Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask and Link to the Past come pretty close for me as well, but I enjoy a small amount of Skyward Sword and Wind Wakers music as well, I haven’t heard enough of Breath of the Wilds or Tears of the Kingdom music yet to know my feelings regarding those games when it comes to music.
@@Azureblue25 All top tier soundtracks. But I do think Wind Waker's is right up there with Twilight Princess, if not higher. That Celtic intro song is just so unique and lovely. And of course there's Outset Island and Dragonroost Island, both some of the most comforting and catchy tunes in the series. And I think the Great Sea theme is possibly the best overworld theme, right up there with Hyrule Field in OoT and TP.
Courage is a solid 10/10
Then Listen to the 2nd dungeon music and youll chsnge your opinion
Twilight Princess is still my favorite game period.
It's easily my second favourite, Majoras Mask is first :)
Same man. Twilight Princess is hands down the greatest video game to ever exist. Don't get me wrong, Ocarina of Time, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom are great too, but Twilight Princess is on a whole other level.
@@InfamousZelda Wait a second, you said that TP was the best game.🧐
Wait, this was made BEFORE you played MM, okay.
I’m a simple man. I see quality “The Legend of Zelda” content, I subscribe.
I constantly struggle with accepting that there are better Zelda games than Ocarina of Time. The nostalgia is strong I guess but this video made me understand why I’ve replayed Twilight Princess a whole lot more than OoT and why ever time I hear of a new Zelda game, I always hope that its more like Twilight Princess than any other Zelda game.
Thank you dude! I always struggled to accept other Zelda games were better as well, i guess i always felt like i was betraying Miyamotos
legacy in some way, or betraying a game that created the gaming world we see today!
@@InfamousZelda I think for its time ocarina did fantastic. One thing imo ocarina has over twilight is the ocarina. Such small detail but learning new melodies and connecting to others by music really connects the player to the world. When you play certain songs it remind you of those characters. To me it’s so hard to choose. I’d put them equal. The concept of time travel, childhood friends such as saria and seeing people long gone really hits home. I think dungeons are equa. Twilights best are Gerudo, snow peak and fire temple. While ocarina‘s best are Deku tree, Forest Temple, Spirit Temple and controversial opinion water temple.
In many ways twilight Princess is better than ocarina but in others it just is not. For that reason I put them as equal. I can’t choose they are both my favorite games of all time. One is stronger in many aspects and the other is just as strong in many aspects
while OoT is older than me and i owe it nothing, im to young to have played twighlight princess and enjoyed it at the time of release. (i was born in late 2003 you do the maths) i was maybe 4 or 5 at the time so i probably would have gotten scared or something
this comment has no significantce on this conversation, it just helps to appreciate not everyone can grow up with OoT if they're NOT ALIVE YET (that was directed at the toxic OoT fans not you im presume)
Twilight Princess is so good! I always thought it was one of the best when playing it.
It's easily in the top 2 Zelda games!
It actually remains the second most sold Zelda game, BOTW being the first.
What’s your first favorite? OOT?
*Sees title*
I'm already convinced, but go on
Hahaha :D
@@InfamousZelda Finally, TP gets the love it deserves.
i have been defending this game since 2006 on various internet forums. It is by far the best Zelda and surpasses Ocarina of Time in just about every aspect except OOT came out first and was revolutionary. Time to enjoy watching this video.
Honestly I always said the same, Twilight Princess is my favorite till this day but i have huge respect for Ocarina of Time cause it changed everything!
It's by far the worst Zelda ^^
@@paugas6352 Like it’s your least fav bu thou still like it, or is it the worst and you like it?
God i miss Twilight Princess i really hope TP HD comes out on Switch at some point in the future.
Hopefully late this year :P
We're still keeping our fingers crossed on this. I'm waiting for the ability to play this game again since the Wii and game was destroyed in a flood sadly. P.S. good to hear such praise for what was and still is the best zelda game
@@Thatguy-hc3edyeah I’m holding out hope too bro. sucks to hear about your Wii. You should get an emulator on your pc if you have one, that’s how I play through the HD version
@@SebastianRivera-mv8hg unfortunately, no PC either. One of the two will have to be fixed so I can get back to T.P. somehow. We will wait and watch
I absolutely agree. It will always be my favorite. I can easily look over its flaws. Hell I couldn’t find many honestly. It’s great. The story was fantastic, Midna and characters were great, it’s dark and rough (in a great way). The bosses are so memorable and so are the dungeons. The items are also amazing. I love it
Same man. It does have quite a decent amount of issues. The overworld lacks content, there’s some unused potential w the items, enemy ai, and resistance, and theyres not as many side quests as I liked. But there’s j so many amazing things. The presentation is amazing, the scale is so immersive, the tone and atmosphere is beautiful, the dungeons combat and bosses r the most enjoyable in the series. The story is memorable w amazing characters. It’s j overall not a game...it’s a work of art imo. The most immersive one in the series and my most immersive in all of gaming. It wasn’t my first zelda game that was ocarina of time, but it’s the game that made me love the series and the game that made me look at games as not j a way to have fun, but as works of art.
Well said!
@@harikohli541 well said my guy!
@@ScytheJackal what’s ur first zelda game. Was it oot like mine or was it Tp
Mine was actually Twilight Princess. Things is that I forgot to mention. It was TP. It introduced me to the Zelda series. With Brawl. It was the first Zelda I ever played.
I wish breath of the wild had the quality temples of twilight princess style , otherwise it would of been my fav Zelda if not for the repetitive shitty dungeons
I agree
I so agree, we'll see if they fix that in the sequel.
@@thewintersoldier8387 that one didnt age well, atleast we got themed dungeons and some cool bosses
@@erikn.9180I know right, I hope the next Zelda game will be like Twilight Princess except the overworld is dynamic and has more life to it and more side quests like BOTW and TOTK that way the game has more replay value after you’ve already beat the game, and some side quests where you can use your specific dungeon item, that way they’re not only useful in said dungeon you received the item from. I was thinking Hyrule field would be where this mostly takes place, and areas that have dungeons would feel like their own distinct areas just like Twilight Princess, and weapons no longer have durability which would be nice. So it would return to the traditional method of receiving items from Zelda games either from chests or buying them with rupees. Plus I imagine it would be like Twilight Princess in terms of graphics but only amplified thanks to how much technology has advanced in recent years, I could picture it being like Twilight Princess but with upgraded realistic graphics akin to something like Red Dead Redemption 2, a linear story just like Twilight Princess that can’t be skipped through or done in a random order, but still with some freedom that comes with it mostly in Hyrule field to give players fun things to do when they’ve already beat the game in the main story.
BOTW dungeons suck ASS, even TOTK dungeons lack in creativity and can be easily cheesed.
Twilight Princess has hands down the best atmosphere for its Ice Dungeon and that's why I think it manages to stay in the minds of so many Zelda fans. Same goes for the Desert dungeon. While it is sad the special item you got in said dungeon basically had little to no use outside of the dungeon it was made for it was still such a great dungeon thematically and had one of the coolest boss fights in a Zelda dungeon ever. The same cant be said for Breath of the Wild or even Tears of the Kingdom.
Yeah, this and BOTW hands down!
I would love this on the switch I miss this game so much
Me too :)
I'm so glad other people think this is the best 3d zelda.
For me they would rank like this:
1. Twilight Princess
2. Ocarina of Time
3. Majora's Mask
4. Wind Waker
5. Skyward Sword
6. Breath of the Wild
I have very little experience with Skyward Sword.
I can appreciate that list order :D
I'm actually glad to see BotW rank so low. It's not a bad game, but it's always weird to hear that it's so many people's favourite Zelda game when it just never clicked with me. I wish I could have as much fun with it as other people claim to have, but it's just not quite my cup of tea
@@lif6737 yess!! Breath of The Wild doesn't look like Zelda
Skyward Sword is super underrated imo. Loved it and honestly enjoyed it a bit more than OOT. TP is still the goat zelda game though
Really weird to see botw so low but this ranking makes perfect sense. I love botw and would consider it a 10/10 yet I still don’t think it’s the best.
On top of everything mentioned, Castletown and collecting the insects were such a vibe that just added to the charm. I mean seriously, completing the insect collection is something I wish more zelda games did. A real blast to look out for while while going through the game
yeah the sidequests and minigames were soo good in this game I wish there were more of them. Especially more horse riding ones, or maybe boar riding.
Yeah, but that girl’s creeper.😳
The characters, the soundtrack and the story all make me very emotional. I had this day one with the wii and it always brings me back to a certain time and place. Most nights I sleep to the most relaxing songs from this game on shuffle. I think you summed this up very well and I agree wholeheartedly. It will always have a special place in my heart.
He went off about how this is the best Zelda without even mentioning the incredibly amazing final boss
Best Ganondorf boss fight to date. I just started playing Tears of the Kingdom so I'm nowhere close to encountering Ganondorf in that one. He looks bada$$ asf.
Can we all thank the zelda team for growing up with its audience while managing to pull in new players.
Something a lot of game developers havent done, **cough** *pokemon* **cough**
Its not just Zelda, its also Mario, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Super Smash Bros, and Fire Emblem have also grown up with their audiences and enjoyed by people of different age groups while welcoming new players. Its literally just Pokemon as Nintendo's one and only outlier franchise that adamantly refuses to grow up.
@@devilrider39000000Mariokart and Mario could be classified as the same thing.
This game needs to be on Switch so bad.
It was ahead of it's time for Gamecube and the motion controls were decent, but not the best on Wii. Also the graphics on Wii are still pretty rough - Especially in dark areas.
Motion controls + improved graphics on a non-obscure console (WiiU wtf) would be AMAZING!
No the wii version is way better than the GameCube version
The biggest peeve for me was needing 5 heart pieces per heart container while hearts still go down in quarters
That’s because there’s a lot of heart containers.
well...after playing botw and getting somewhat disappointed and underwhelmed
i just understand why i enjoyed twilight princess so much (best 3d zelda game I've ever played)
_ masterfully crafted dungeons
_ great story moments
_ midna ( easily better than all botw characters combined)
_ music
_ great bosses and good enemy variety
_ story wasn't that new or original but it was told in an effective way
Yeah i think i have grown to class it as my favourite Zelda game nowadays :P
“Why is Twilight Princess the best Zelda game to date?”
Nah, why is it not on the switch? That’s my question
Because it’s on the Wii U.
The legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess is my favourite Zelda game BY FAR. This, Skyward sword and Majorca’s mask are perfect games to in every way. The game was so mature, like when Midna almost dies and Zelda sacrifices herself to save her. The character development was incredible. Midna goes from a
person who only helped you to pay her back later to someone who actually cares about Link. The dungeons and bosses were also amazing! We’ve got bangers like Arbiters grounds, Snowpeak ruins and Temple of Time. With them is that skull boss, the yeti who turns into this ice monster and Acrofang, the giant spider. And the music, man, not only does most of it sound really good, but they can also make it sound bad… in a good way. One’s like Zant’s theme and Gordon mines are pretty hard to listen to, but fit in very well. Final predict, TP is the best, if you don’t love it then I’m disliking your comment.
I liked twilight princess before it was cool.
Me too :P

Yes! Twilight Princess is almost perfect🥰
@@InfamousZeldaYes, and the HD version for the Wii U made it more perfect!
Not really. It made the game look too over saturated, they added pointless stamps, you could no longer use a Wii remote to play, and they got rid of the bloom used for the Twilight areas, and also got rid of the heat razes in Goron Mines. I just felt that Twilight Princess HD took out a lot of the atmospheric aspects from the original.
@@traviscunningham7062 Dude, the game looks so much better. The textures look a lot less blurry, now. And playing without motion controls, yeah, big deal. I’d much rather use the B button. You can also carry more rupees, climb ladders faster and use amiibo. Link ones fill your arrow quiver, Zelda ones refill your health and ganondorf ones make you take twice the damage, making it a hero’s mode. Overall, a pretty decent remake.
"are the best we've seen since ocarina of time captured our hearts" 10:31 perfect timing lol.
I love the new intro! Beautiful 🥰
Thank you so much Hazel! :)
It’s better than Infinite bit’s
I still do not understand the hatred for the tier collecting sections. I actually found it fun collecting the tiers. Another huge contributing factor to me liking it so much would have to be the atmosphere of the twilight. It is impeccable. I also love the satisfaction of cleansing each area from the twilight.
I agree with everything you just said, right on!
For me the reason I hate the tear collecting sections is because I feel like it takes an already slow paced game and makes it even slower. Every time I'm progressing through TP collecting tears it gives me the sense of the game/story is being interrupted. And to make matters worse they took my least favorite part of TP and jammed into SS.
At least there’s a map showing where all the tears are making it easier. The first and second tear missions were easy but I had trouble with the third one.
What I love most about this game is the fact I get to battle against my favorite Link the hero of time as a undead warrior and he the best of them all, but I'm sad that knowing he dead at this time
I grew up and was in love with twilight princess and it will forever inhabit that empty whole in my heart! (since I don't have a wii anymore)
Twilight Princess was always my favorite.
I respect that!
Twilight Princess is a pedestrian masterpiece. A solid entry into the series, without being revolutionary. If its your first Zelda game I understand why you love it, but if its your tenth then you realize you've seen it all before.
"when this game comes to the Switch"
2 years later: much sadness.
the windwaker and twilight princess were the two first zelda games i’ve ever played in my entire life. i started them both around at the same time; maybe the windwaker a bit sooner. but idk twilight princess just has a very special place in my heart
majora’s mask will always b my favorite tho sorry y’all
Love the shade towards skyward sword in 2:25
I view OoT, Majora’s Mask, Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess as the Hero of Time Saga, the best group of Zelda games. People can hypothetically say that A Link to the Past into this group because of the Timeline, however, Ocarina of Time Link isn’t either mentioned or have impact in that game whatsoever.
I have two polarizing sides that I want for future zelda games.
On one hand, I really want another 3D zelda in the general art direction of twilight princess. A style that leans way more towards realism than fantasy graphics. A darker and heavier themed zelda.
On the other hand, I really want new classic style 2D zelda games. BUT in full HD with all the good modern textures and lighting and etc etc. Imagine playing AlttP but in HD. Kind of like if you took AlbW but upscale the graphics and models, but not changing the art style. Link’s awakening on switch gave us that, almost. Instead of a chibi cutesy style, imagine a 2D that stays true to the artwork and character designs of the classics. And still being a top down view.
Oh my gosh could you imagine a 2D Zelda in the graphical style of Octopath Traveler? Square has this god tier 2D HD that is just *chef's kiss*
2 years later and a switch release is still not here
I can honestly say that ive never played another game that had a storyline that I enjoyed as much as Twilight princess. IMO it has the best story and characters of any video game I have ever played.
Ocarina is my first zelda, twilight is my favorite, tears is coming in hot to first place
I agree with this so much. Another major appeal for me with TP is why I loved Majoras Mask, the overall darker theme of the game. It’s a perfect balance or dark with more light hearted themes
Never had a game cube and always loved Zelda. Looks like a must play!
I never had a GameCube ether.
I remember going to my grandma house being super excited to tell her that the new zelda game was coming out and we should get it. Then open the door to her already having the game title screen playing on the tv
I just started playing Twilight Princess last night and I saw some similarities on TP and OoT but I just ignored those and just continue on playing.
And I know that Ilia will have a Saria moment that will me me cry again, I just know it just don't spoil me plz.
Did you finish it?
4:32 I think you confused “antagonist” with “protagonist”
I believe so :'D
another thing about TP that is barely talked about is the combat. It is the best of all zelda games with exception of botw because of the progressive new moves which have never been in a zelda game before
Ppl bashed the hell out of this game and now are barely realizing it's a masterpiece. It forever holds a special place in my heart alongside ocarina
Because of this game, Midna's true form became my ultimate video game crush.
What can I say, redheads are hot as hell.
It's also the reason why wolves are my favorite animal, I freaking LOVE wolves.
Okay so Ive played both twilight and windwaker recently and I CANNOT understand why people love windwaker and praise it unconditionally. Its short boring and half the time you are just sailing until you get teleportation and swift sail. TWILIGHT WAS GORGEOUS AND NOW MY SECOND FAVORITE ZELDA GAME. (Majora mask the best)
BOTW/TOTK suck and sadly are soft sequels of WW. They abandoned the old formula of which TP/Skyward Sword were the last to be made.
Twilight Princess has been under rated for years. It has flaws but it does some things really well. I'll take it with its faults over BOTW and BOTW's faults
Not my favorite Zelda, but I understand how other people can view Twilight as their favorite. Ocarina of Time still takes top title for me. It was my first Zelda. I was there when it first released. It set off an earthquake across the game world. Nothing felt like it. It felt new. It redefined how gaming should be in 3D. Wind Waker felt fresh and new, but it didn't redefine gaming.
Twilight came along, and it really was Ocarina 2 in essence. It was great, but having experienced OoT when it was new meant that I couldn't be as surprised by the OoT template anymore. The one-of-a-kind quality of Ocarina was missing from the Twilight retread. Twilight is a wonderful retread though. I adore it. It is better than Ocarina in a variety of ways in its execution. But beyond just enhanced technical execution, the feeling of newness from OoT places it ahead of Twilight. And in my view, Breath of the Wild only loses to Ocarina by a hair.
BOTW and TOTK suck ass. Both are Minecraft clones. TP is the best even though I give respect to OoT for being the first.
The one way you know something is good is if it actually gets someone who HATES the larger series as a whole... to say it's one of their favorite games.
Even I, not giving a rat about Zelda, can't stress enough that this game... this one game... is such an amazing piece of art all around that I can honestly call it one of my favorite games EVER.
AND one of my favorite stories ever.
Twilight Princess was the first story game I ever played that I was truly invested in. I loved every second of it (minus the sky temple but even then it was only the gameplay it lacked it (and maybe the music honestly)). It’s the game that I have the most nostalgia for, and even to this day, it is THE BEST big studio game I’ve ever played (top 4 are Undertale, Celeste, Geometry dash and Twilight Princess).
Amazing video!! The audio however is very low, and even at full volume I'm struggling to listen to your voice.. everything else is super polished tho!
Noted! Future videos I will up the audio :)
seing this video 2 years later and no twilight princess port to the switch
Adore TP from the bottom of my heart. It’s a close tie with ALTTP and BOTW when it comes to picking the best Zelda, but for the favorite, my choice has been made 🐺
Thank go's you like it!
Nintendo really outdid themselves with midnas lament.
IDK about it being the best Zelda ever, now that TotK's out, but it certainly had the best side-character ever - Midna.
Totk wasn't even that good
Still upsets me this game isn’t on the switch..
I think Nintendo missed an opportunity to add an underwater biome for Link to explore in TotK. The water temple is in the sky? That doesnt make any sense but ok. In Twilight Princess, the water tunic is so much cooler and is exactly what youd expect. Swimming up a waterfall is dumb.
the thumbnail explains it all
For me, TP is right up there with MM and aLttP. Traditional Zelda has always been about adventure and these games have the best adventure.
LoZ and OoT were both brilliant, genre defining titles, and aLttP and TP just gave them each that additional polish.
I struggle with BotW because it is a brilliant sandbox, but as far as adventure goes, I feel like I popped open someone else's postgame save file.
The first LoZ game kinda sucked, actually.
@@TheJokestrrrr Genre defining is operative description here.
Dark and well-written story,
Very good battle mechanics
Insanely good dungeons
Pretty good overworld
WOLF link !!!!!!!
........Perfect 10 !!!!!!!!
I love Twilight Princess - especially Midna and Wolf Link; contrary to you, I also quite like the Castle in the Sky since Double Clawshot is awesome. Is it my favorite Zelda though? I guess I'd place MM first, OoT a very close second and TP a very close third.
Oh cool! :)
Also easily my favorite, mostly because I'm a sucker for the feels and nothing delivers like Twilight Princess does. Some good moral lessons you can really absorb too, more than any other video game I can think of at the moment (though I heard Undertale is good for that...)
Some other points:
1) Lots of room for argument about dungeon ranking, but I think almost everyone agrees that Arbiter's Grounds and Snowpeak Ruins are the top two.
2) I love this game to pieces, but aren't we kinda overlooking that its flaws do exist: gameplay challenge is very uneven, usually incredibly easy/handholding/generous but a few parts early on that are way too hard all of a sudden (the first fight with Twilight creatures and the jousting). Also the Poe hunt is maddening, makes the Skulltullas look like a convenience (you can at least switch day and night in Ocarina).
3) I love the Wii controls, and the stamp collecting is a huge turn off so I've stayed away from the HD remake, graphics notwithstanding, but dude if we get motion controls and they revert the stamps in a Switch edition... oh boy...!
4:32 YES, I love playing as the antagonist, Link!
I agree 100% that Twilight Princess is the number one Zelda game. I'm a big fan and no matter how many times I play or come back to it, it never gets boring. Second would be Ocarina of Time.
Nice video. Twilight Princess I liked more with time. Its tone, the atmosphere, the characters etc. Its pretty much the third in the Ocarina trilogy. Majoras Mask still takes first place for me, Ocarina of Time 2nd, Twilight Princess 3rd, Windwaker 4th etc. Not really a fan of Skyward sword (still had excellent stuff).
Thats literally my order too!
Wind Waker’s lore (Hyrule’s destruction, split timelines despite the Ocarina never doing that before, among other things) and its art style grates on me. I love the exploration freedom it brings, though.
Though twilight princess isn't open world and is therefore considered linear, it really is far from linear. The most linear dungeon in my opinion is the temple of time with a close second being the arbiter's grounds, all other dungeons in the game have a lot of backtracking and side routes you have take. On top of that the gameplay outside of dungeons is rarely linear, with more backtracking then all the dungeons combined, in my opinion anyways.
It's a hub based open world, it just isn't a full blown sandbox and it has way too much focus on a compelling and sensible narrative that it can't be nearly as non-linear as BotW, which I think works in its favor.
I actually enjoyed Twilight Princess during my playthrough, although I stopped at the Forest Temple due to getting stuck with its puzzles, but I do plan to return and finish Twilight Princess
The game that made me fall in love with the series after my sister let me play it on the wii at a young age
I'm just so glad people are coming around to it. My theory is that people were thinking of it as a "Wii game" and that hurt its reception when it came out. The Wiimote controls were terrible and there was no option on that version to just plug in a gamecube controller.
It's the best selling LoZ title next to BoTW and ToTK, at release it sold almost 6mil copies. It's reception and reputation was never bad... your comment applies to Skyward Sword way more than it does to Twilight Princess.
To me the whole Tp being similar to oot complaint is unfair and very disrespectful imo.ike ALBW is similar to ALTTP and that’s considered amazing. Galaxy 2 is similar to galaxy 1 and that game is considered on of the best games ever. Like why does TP get bad rap. And u know it’s only similar in terms of mechanics and progression. The atmosphere story tone combat music design and wolf link gives it its own identity. Idk man I j hate how people hate my favorite game j cuz it’s “similar to oot” like it’s a bad thing
Yeah I agree with you, the main reason it's compared to OOT so much is because Miyamoto himself said he wanted to make OoT better which is how Twilight Princess was made, but I do understand how you feel, they are both completely different games tbf
@@InfamousZelda I’m really glad that this wasn’t my first zelda game and that ocarina was because is this game was my first, ocarina of time would have been completely ruined for me, so I’m glad I was able to play ocarina first so I could still love it. Still, TP is one a whole league imo. If I did a tier list, even w my ss tier, I would still create a seperate tier above it and Call it TP, kinda like I did w Zelda 2 below my D tier
Twilight Princess is the best "half-linear" 3D Zelda game. It is the least outdated compared to Oot and WW. It used the best features from previous titles and presented some new ones. The story combined with the music already makes it the most epic Zelda-tale. Sure, the graphics could use more texture, but in the end it was designed for CRT screen and for those interested there are some mindblowing new texture packs and AI upscaled textures. TP was by no means groundbreaking by technical standards, but it doesn't matter, because the game is solid and so satisfying to play. It was so good, that Skyward Sword felt like a downgrade dissapointment, though SS is still an ok game..
This is the Zelda that needs a full remake!
Twilight princess is a solid game, but what always held it back for me was too many emmersion breaking moments. When your playing the game and suddenly Midna interrupts your play for example. That kinda thing has always been a pet peeve of mine, and to be fair every video game does that; whether its with pop up dialogue, sudden unannounced cut-scenes or display tutorial messages waaay past the acceptable tutorial portion of the game. And every 3d Zelda game has those emmersion breaking moments, but they are very prominent in Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword. It always makes me feel like the Devs are holding my hand while I'm playing instead of giving me the chance to figure it out on my own. Again, not a terrible thing within the first hour of a game or so, but after ive beaten 5 main temples and played the game for over 25 hours i want to stop being interrupted. Otherwise a pretty good game
It's better than Navi telling you to take a break evrey 5 minutes in the 3d version.
maaaaaan the sky dungeon has an insane saudade vibe tho
I played it at 9 and I loved twilight princess so much
Link isn't the antagonist. He's the protagonist.
2 years later and still no TPHD switch port...
It’s my favorite game I love it so much, I’m so sad it’s still not on the switch😭😭😭😭
It's on the Wii U.
1:55 should have said like a flock of cuccos.
😂😂
OOT, WW and TP are the golden trio of Zelda games.
And MM
If they released Twilight Princess 2 but with BOTW/TOTK mechanics... game over
Probably won't happen but a boy can dream
Nah, Twilight Princess is Dark Souls before Dark Souls.
currently drank three beers and melancholicly crying about twilight princess , best music , best characters , best artstyle , i love tears of the kingdom so much , and i hoped so much it would reach a balance between breath of the wild and TP and it doesnt really
This game has the best music out of all zelda games, even all video games and its not even a contest , and wish i could feel that again in a zelda game anytime
This is going in my cringe compilation
I'm going to preface this post by saying that with the exceptions of Skyward Sword, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, and whatever the fashion one was called, all Zelda games are amazing games. (I simply haven't played the fashion one to compare it so it's an unknown to me, and my problems with PH & ST are to do with the engine used, not the designs of the games themselves. They did some fun & clever things, but I just don't like being unable to walk and see the screen I'm walking on at the same time. Skyward Sword is just a bad game at its core, but that's not super relevant to this comment.)
Comparing only the pre-BotW 3D Zeldas, my top two are definitely Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask (not sure of the order between them), but as a fan that's been playing Zelda games since the very first NES title, the linearity of the more linear Zelda games is an inherently non-Zelda element (that clearly was taken by OoT from Zelda 2). Non-linearity has always been an important part of the gameplay, along with exploration, with puzzle solving having beem added to this in aLttP. To me, these are the three pillars of any game's Zelda-ness. (Non-linearity, exploration, and puzzle solving.) Other things, like combat elements (as long as they don't revolve around waiting), story elements, and thematic regions are good bonuses as well, but they're more like sprinkles on top. I would never want to sacrifice part of the core for more sprinkles.
OoT takes a few elements from its other predecessors, but takes far more from Zelda 2 than it does from the others. (Look for example at the Octorocks in each game. All 2D Zeldas except Zelda 2 have one behavior for them, while all 3D Zeldas and Zelda 2 have a completely different second behavior for them.) The linear nature of the game is one of those things. The other 3D Zeldas, including Twilight Princess, used OoT's model as their basis due to its success, and in doing so have used Zelda 2 as their basis by proxy.
For Link's Awakening and Ocarina of Time, the linearity made a lot more sense due to hardware constraints, but as the hardware improved, the gameplay only clamped down further (with Skyward Sword being the absolute worst example of these elements distilled to their ultimate form). Twilight Princess is a game that could've absolutely allowed the player to play more non-linearly without losing anything at all. Imagine how much more replayable it'd be if the level order was instead like this: Forest Temple -> (Goron Mines & Lakebed Temple, in either order) -> Arbiter's Grounds -> (Snowpeak Ruins, Temple of Time, & City in the Sky, in any order) -> Palace of Twilight. Absolutely nothing would have to change about any story elements for this, and it would be almost as open as aLttP.
I do think that BotW swings a little too far in the other direction. The open Zeldas are not usually "any order you want", but are still based in some need to get certain things to reach certain levels. In the original NES Zelda, you can't enter dungeon 4 without the raft, for example, but you can certainly go directly to dungeon 3 without doing 1 & 2 first. In aLttP, after Dark World dungeon 1, you can go to 2, 3, or 4 next. Etc... I'd personally like to see more of this in particular in future Zelda titles... Not enough games exist that do it. Hollow Knight's progression is another good example of this being done well (only without dungeon sub-areas).
Twilight Princess is quite a good game, but with a few very minor tweaks, it could be even better.
Some very interesting points, i respect and acknowledge your comment :)
Boring. 😴
TP was my first Zelda game and my God is it just as good as I remember
I really like twilight princess and is one of my favorite but I feel there was more potential there and wasn’t used to it’s fullest. I wish the music was used in a more meaningful way like in Oot and MM. The song of healing could have been used to heal some of the characters that were cursed, the song of time or sun to change day/night to complete tasks/dungeons etc. Really love have to use wolf link howl as the music instrument. I also missed the background music from other Zelda games. I love the eerie music feeling but it felt boring after a while if you are taking your time exploring the area. Is a great game and the story is awesome so it has potential to be even more awesome! I wished there was a continuation of twilight princess and see these characters again
Agree with all
TP is my favourite
Hey, since you love TP, I'll like AND sub. 😎
@@TheJokestrrrr yo I subbed to you just coz u sed that
