to be fair he does re-use a lot of material for this special. If you look on Conan and Fallon he tells a lot of the stuff used here. I agree he's funny as fuck though.
I think that Mark's owns the World's JPM record (Jokes per minute). Amazing how he goes from one punch line to another, within a single freaking story!. One of the best shows I've ever seen!
Concur entirely. After 3/4ths watched the realization of how seamless he presents, the material flows equivalent to "Best of" from Hicks, Carlin, etc. An unexpectant gift, last hour of calorically intense laughter. Well done.
Michael C. Yea I gotta agree, the 2 bears have had some way better stuff in the past. There’s something I like about d’elia but it’s never been his comedy
But for every three average ones you sit through that new Tom Segura ( or insert another comedian who always brings it that's had a recent special too. I just had him on the brain I'm telling him about someone earlier today that never heard if him I guess) comes out. I think that it is worth the time wasted watching the other ones. Because at the end if the day it was all during my leisure time so it's not hours I'd get back to do anything productive kinda defeats the whole purpose ya know. If I had a problem with Netflix it's that the gems are usually hidden and they'll suggest them to you after you've already watched the ones they've been advertising way harder. It seems like to get on that Netflix front-page for stand up comedy you have to ; A. Be an undeniable legend, B. be offensive to no one's sensibilities, C. Or try to crack your jokes where you offend the sensibilities of both sides of whatever you're talking about ( Bill Burr is amazing at doing that). I think the only one who really broke out of those three categories and got the front page was when Marc Maron released his last special. All of his jokes were somehow related or indirectly related to all those "woke topics" At the very least he was made of passing analogous comparisons between what he was talking about about and those topics. All of a sudden he was on the front page of Netflix right out of the gate with that special, because he essentially was related to everything they've been trying to push so hard. And it's Marc Maron so either he designed his whole set like that , or just the nature of that kind of stuff being everywhere wore on him so much that he broke the algorithm by accident. He is smart enough to do the first thing, but he also has the kind of mental state that could be so bothered, annoyed, or obsessed to do the latter so both are viable options.
Dude, this is impressive af. Most comedians would split this material into like 5 specials. That was so dense with jokes, I wasn't even done laughing by the next punchline. He's got a true knack for this comedy thing.
@@carloswiebe4541 loved that conversation with Tom, about the difference between their styles of comedy. this video alone has 7 million views, he's very popular.
@@sigcane8548 he has a decent following yet he still had to release this on youtube after being denied by Netflix and some other outlets. This special is significantly better than most of the comedians that make it to netflix.
@@sigcane8548 it may not be the end goal but it's still a goal for many, including Normand since he tried to sell it to them. It still shows he isnt valued as highly as he should be.
@@sigcane8548 end goal? Netflix?
He's getting there. You know this guy is a great comedian cause you hardly hear people clap, but you can hear the laughs. Too many "comedians" these days are going for claps from the audience.
He performs without looking at any notes. So much content in 50 mins. So many jokes. So funny and impressive love his style.
Wait, who have you seen that looked at notes? That's pretty bad
@@andyramos3493I was gonna ask the same thing. There can’t be a professional comic that looks at notes during their hour special. The only time a pro would have notes is if they are working stuff out for their new material. Louis CK has done that and a few others but never for their actual special
I miss comedy like this. It's comedy, nothing more nothing less. No long stories with a billion callbacks, just joke after joke. Crafted perfectly with an amazingly natural flow. I love Mark, always have. I wish he was more successful, but he is doing very well. I think Godfrey should be bigger too, should have been on SNL.
Godfrey needs more material but yeah he's incredible too
Idk imo this Kevin Hart Guy is funnier that Gilbert Godfrey
@@bigcountry5977 The black Godfrey is waaay funnier than Gilbert imo. That's who I was referring to, idk about the op
He’s like if Hedberg did speed before every show
Yeah I tend to find myself randomly searching for any new interviews Godfrey has done because he doesn't seem to do a lot of stand-up anymore. He is funny on Wild "N Out, but even though he's a regular this past season, he still doesn't seem to get shown a whole lot.
Kevin Hart needs to sign off as Mark Normand at the end of his next special.
I think hes the reason Mark isnt on Netflix.
@@MotoRider224 interesting. Mark went to Netflix to pitch a show and trashed Kevin Hart as a joke. They were not amused.
Lol
The queefs at Netflix missed out. At least we didn’t..
Netflix went with Middleditch and Schwartz instead of this
Over paid Seinfeld and missed out on this grand slam

I laughed more in the first 3 minutes of this special than I did in all of D'Elia & Seinfeld's. Mark you killed this one!
I completely agree!!!
Yes! So did I.
Seinfeld’s was good - please don’t put it in the same bracket has the hack d’Elia
One delia special is like every delia special
Well to be fair being funnier than D'Elia or Seinfeld isnt a high bar to clear.
Genius joke “any gays in the crowd tonight? Thanks for coming out” lol
I don't get that joke. Can you explain?
@@grhn5960 "coming out" is a common phrase used when someone establishes that they're gay to others for the first time. The joke is a play on words
@@wunknownbeatbox7980 wow, that's a great play on words.

These aren't jokes, they're THOUGHTS it's amazing how he delivers them❤
Absolutely. The thoughts and observations may be a little trite, but this might be one of the most well-delivered specials of all time.

You just put into words why I didn't think this was that funny.
Who cares if Netflix doesn't give him a special. Since when was Netflix the marker of success anyway. Mark doesn't need Netflix.
It only works if we share it on social meedia, get your share on :)
Exactly. There are more than a few specials on Netflix that are complete shit
netflix wanted to buy this for like 75k and he denied
Netflix loss anyway...its not a success marker...but it does bring recognition...Mark Normand brings the goods....like Chapelle
@@michaelclark1811 75K? damn, mark desserves much more
Literally more jokes in 5 minutes than most specials
This is not a "story telling" special. Every two mins is new concepts, material, and punchlines. Great Job Mark!
kpresnell45 fuck a “story”. Cop-out
If Mark was your average comedian, he could've and would've spread these jokes over two specials with longer pauses and segways, sprinkled with random banter with the crowd. But because he's badass he just spits joke after joke for a whole hour. Props man.
Absolutely this.
to be fair he does re-use a lot of material for this special. If you look on Conan and Fallon he tells a lot of the stuff used here. I agree he's funny as fuck though.
Lmao that's what jeselnik does, his comedy is amazing but he really milks his pauses and comments to fill an hour

I think that Mark's owns the World's JPM record (Jokes per minute).
Amazing how he goes from one punch line to another, within a single freaking story!.

I got a simple question: How does he remember so many jokes? And the timing, the flow ... not one misstep. Amazing. A natural.
One word: REPETITION. He performed these bits hundreds of times each :)
They do this set probably hundreds of times over a few years.
Hes a stone cold killa!
This is literally his job. 😂
Concur entirely. After 3/4ths watched the realization of how seamless he presents, the material flows equivalent to "Best of" from Hicks, Carlin, etc. An unexpectant gift, last hour of calorically intense laughter. Well done.
this guy's style is so cool, it feels kind of retro but completely fresh at the same time
great description!

I thought the same thing.
His delivery reminds me of Leno... if Leno wasn't so canned and out of touch...
His level of delivery is so comfortable that everyone just sits in and listens. Love Mark, dude just is funny
6 minutes in and it’s better then all the recent Netflix comedy specials
So true. Delia, Kreischer, and Segura's didn't make me laugh once.
Michael C. Yea I gotta agree, the 2 bears have had some way better stuff in the past. There’s something I like about d’elia but it’s never been his comedy

@@user-yf2lk5gi7q I don't know how the fuck people think Delia is funny at all
@@jordanvargas6860 You don't enjoy the baby voices and the constant screaming?
INCREDIBLE. This is truly head and shoulders above 99.9% of Netflix specials - most simply are not funny! Mark is a comedy GOD
Yea this may be a really funny comedy special, but is it 'important'?
Because Netflix is too busy trying to be woke
@Austin King Indeed does. Rewatching a john mulaney special brings me to tears of laughter.
As much as I like Mark all three of Bill Burr’s specials are better than this.
Dude, this is impressive af. Most comedians would split this material into like 5 specials. That was so dense with jokes, I wasn't even done laughing by the next punchline. He's got a true knack for this comedy thing.
No one would even buy this special from him, he got turned down, it’s insane.
@@carloswiebe4541 loved that conversation with Tom, about the difference between their styles of comedy. About how mark actually looks up to Tom for being able to come up with great stories, while also having jokes in between. And on the other hand, mark can spend weeks on a joke, for it to literally be 11 seconds on stage. Love both of them for sure.
Gotta respect the punchline comics. Storytellers like Chappelle, CK, Burr, etc are fantastic, but sometimes you just wanna sit back and listen to jokes.
