I picked Kinesis because I love the concept and telekinesis has always been one of my most favorite powers, but I do wish they'd improve on the class' vital weaknesses more.
(A Kinesis main wanders into the comment section) As I've tried to explain the Kinesis mechanics to others, especially those who seek to farm up a level 200 for the link/legion effect, I have to remind them to use Psychic Drain to restore points over time. This is THE most reliable, effective method to recharge between Ultimate skill casts. It is also a good idea to invest one hyper stat point into Psychic Grab - Boss Point (or whatever it's called) to double your recharge rate with your main skill when you hit bosses. People also believe that Ultimate - Trainwreck is a main skill, when this is NOT the case. It is better to perceive the class as a summon or placed turret. I even saw some clown with a MapleStory class-tier list describing the class in such a way that the skill is your main and provided none of the positives that the class provides. It requires time for players to adapt to the mechanics unlike other classes, but once it clicks, the class will feel much smoother. Even casting Ultimate - Trainwreck below platforms is advantageous, because it has a large, vertical hitbox. Mind Over Matter I typically don't use for mobbing, as I would use that more specifically as a boss skill. Shockwave, Law of Gravity, or the occasional Psychic Tornado cover the majority of my needs and act more quickly against more mobs. Class pros: High base damage. High base critical damage (by mage standards). Can be played with lower funding. Possesses 5th job skills with massive hitboxes. Has 2 debuffs that can melt away enemy defenses, one of them also increases your final damage. Very good mobility, despite being a mage class without teleportation (triple jump (including vertical) + Kinetic Jaunt). Divergent playstyle to help avoid player burnout (essentially what I did when I swapped worlds) 😅 Class cons: NOT beginner friendly. Base critical chance isn't ideal. Easy to forget setting up your defenses (Mental Shield) when fighting mobs (had to remind myself to use it when I got to Cernium). Still requires a booster, unlike other classes, to regulate attack speed, and brief delay in use of Kinesis' main skill because of item/mob pickup. Thank you for this informative video. 🙆♀😊
@@S0UV3N1RS It really comes down to personal preference, as the occasional player might approach me to ask this exact question. As far as I can tell (along with other classes) Attack Speed +1 does NOT affect hurricane skills or summons; Kinesis utilizes both of these in some way. What it will improve is Psychic Grab/Shockwave (their main skills post 5th job advancement) and not much else. Now with those details in mind, Boss Damage +20% is what I actually decided to pick, as the effect transfers to ALL of Kinesis' attacks, and stuck out to me as the more practical choice, especially if someone was opting to work on this class as a boss mule.
@@psycake1310 I figured as much- that even with soft cap I still find it "fast" enough for me. - if someone wanted to ignore ASPD+1 the usual ideal lines would be something like boss crit rate abnormal status? do you think buff duration is worth it for maybe the extra 2-4 seconds on that hyper which gives him 10x regen speed or something on PP points?
@@S0UV3N1RS You know my opinion on Boss Damage by now. Big recommend on that. ☺ Crit Rate is good if you're having a hard time pulling it from your legion and link skills. Otherwise it can be filled with flat Magic Attack as its replacement. Abnormal Status I would recommend for use, as Kinesis loves to throw down up to three debuff effects (Psychic Force/Psychic Grab/Mind Tremor/Quake). The damage boost would be easy to benefit from and effective DPS. Buff duration isn't something I really try to acquire anymore, and it's more because of the fact that before Destiny, Kinesis acquired their 100% stance from Psychic Bulwark (before it got turned into a passive effect). Its application to Mental Overdrive would be pretty miniscule (even with the 20% buff duration your own skills, 100 Empathy and level 200+ Mechanic). I see no significant changes from it.
I'm a 249, Kenesis Main! While I do agree that there's alot to mind about when bossing. The fun begins with maxing out your cores and tricores. Yes BPM is cool and all but the main bulk of the dmg comes from MOverMatter and law of Gravity. Of course equipping the extra bind helps a bunch with holding the bosses down
I main this class and it has made me question if I picked the wrong class to main at first. But as I actually learned how to use my skills properly, I learned to appreciate the uniqueness of the class. The lower level training for sure turns people off from going further once they get the link skill maxed. It's a shame really >.>
Yea this class suffers from the same issues as WA and NW where they kinda suck to play until 200, but it doesn't have the amazingly lazy bossing or amazingly fast bossing of the 2 cyg classes to make up for it
As a person who mained Kinesis before I can say the class is absolutely fun but I can see why people avoid it. The mob grinding is definitely the most fun I had with a class. Bossing is kind of wack, but I think it really comes down to experience with the class. After playing Kinesis for many many months I got used to micro managing the skills to the point where PP wasn't an issue. Looking at how you were grinding in the video I can safely say that you're using way too many skills which will cause you to lose PP very fast. Mind Over Matter is very fun and I agree that I also don't like how it does go out of the map. I just like to push the skill to it's fastest speed (You can visually see when it's reached the max speed it will glow blue) and then when it almost touches the edge of the map I press the skill button to bring it back and it will still go pretty fast. In your bossing section I can also safely say that the use of skills was kind of a mess. We do debuff the boss with our skills and it's very nice for stationary bosses, a big annoyance for bosses like Damien. Though the part I was mostly surprised was not seeing you use Metal Press, that is a very important skill when it comes to bossing as that's where most of the damage comes from. Again though knowing this stuff doesn't come easily and it's probably another reason why people avoid this class because there's just so much to know but I can assure anyone who tries to learn this class that over time it feels more and more natural and very fun
I'm not a Kinesis main but he is my secondary/3rd character and I'm thoroughly enjoying playing him compared to the other 7 classes I have so far. Idk why but I just enjoy playing him compared to the rest so far.
hello, lvl 277 kinesis main here from gms reboot, He pretty much covered it, very busy class. One thing he probably didn't mention is that, the class does not reward much damage despite how busy it is. I personally can't recommend anyone starting out the game to play the class if they are planning to play this game for long-con, because this class is extremely conditional to be decent. Despite being awful in boss fights in general, it is pretty good at farming, and will farm well early on. Many of Kinesis main issues arises near the mid-late game. If you do not mind these negatives, the class is still pretty cool (ig), and now we got a sick 6th job skills. Hoping for a lot more changes to the class in the future. 🙏
The real crazy thing is that bpm encourages you to stick close to the boss but the black hole is thrown so far away that if you’re in range to do good damage with bpm you’re going to overshoot to do good damage with the black hole
Kinesis was my first “real” main when I came back to maple in 2018, and my first level 200! I still have a lot of love/nostalgia for the class, but eventually got tired of getting clowned on in parties for playing him so I ended up switching to adele.
I really like these kind of series' Copper comes up with. He breaks it down really well here in a fun and creative way, where if someone asked me why I would just tell them "cause the class blows" lmfao.
I main a Kinesis! i just got to 235! i love the class and i do agree with the bossing issue, but mind quake effect duration now lasts until the skill itself is done so as long as you get it on your target, you are golden! I do feel like it's a good class though. I don't have any trouble training and mind over matter is the best volleyball game ever in the right rooms since the speed can get really fast after 3 pushes.
Hey MapleM player here, I chose Kenisis as my first toon, gotta say I enjoy him here on MapleM. It's probably because I don't know enough about the game. 😂 gonna keep pushing him to 200 he's 193 right now!
my main is Kinesis, and I love it so much, it's the first class I've actually wanted to deck out, and buy cute outfits for it, Plus plus, I don't have to use mp potions, it saves me soo many meso's
The leader of my guild is actually a kinesis main, and has been for years. And he even has a 2nd kinesis as his main mule, he says it's easier to make gear for since he knows what he wants. Idk, he seems to enjoy it
Kinesis is conceptually one of my fave classes, and at one point I considered 2nd maining it. Gave up with the idea around lvl 220, but it's still a decent lomien boss mule
I recently leveled a Kinesis and was surprised how much I disliked it compared to when I first played it when the class released all those years ago. I remembered really enjoying the mobbing back then, but with today's classes, Kinesis really falls behind. Unfortunate
Kinesis was and is actually my main on Luna, but i don't play Luna as a main server, but reboot. Whatever the case, thanks to occasional free level up pots my kinesis is already lvl 232 there and could solo Lotus at lvl 220. Honestly it is kinda fun to barely play on one server and just enjoy the benefits that don't require playing a lot, so kinesis has a place in my heart. It's cool.
Hey copper. Love this video series. Watching this video made me curious as to the storyline and lore behind this character. I think you would make really great maplestory lore / story videos.
IMO kinesis is a good jack-of-all-trades class, you have a TON of tools: tp/damage reflect cancel with deep impact super stance with pile driver with mental tempest access to eform float/fly ability with kinetic jaunt However, I don't recommend this class as a bossing mule because it's a class that you really have to invest in time-wise. Also, mobbing can be a huge turn-off because of how psychic grab functions (you pick stuff up then attack) which can feel very clunky to people who are used to playing the majority of other classes that are just 1 action attack. But if you can get used/adjust to the feel of psychic grab, mobbing is one of the best/laziest in the game.
Kinesis needs some traveling AoE damage like Adele/NW/WA, and change black hole to some magnetic force bind that makes the target tank all the projectiles thrown . If this class has a good mobbing but niche bossing, it should at least commit to one characteristic . (even tho my idea kinda improves the bossing, if no cooldown to this)
level 200 Kinesis here, i definitely feel you on bossing being ROUGH but honestly had no idea it was this unpopular of a class V.V Very sick class though
If you enjoy a more solo progression type of play then go for it. its also the most populated server. the only cons i can think of is that some of the items are time gated, so you cant buy stuff straight of the community market, so it would take you some time to progress.
As a long time Kinesis main , some points from my perspective about the class : Class is fun bossing/farming wise + dropping trains/cubes/etc , abilities clunky, aesthetic is nice, not rewarding (damage) wise for the amount of Marco input, struggles against mobile bosses. Grinding/farming is decent with shockwave do need to mange PP. Should you play it? If you enjoy it why not.
I tend to love making bossing mules for a lot of the underplayed classes (not all of them though...) and Kinesis is definitely one of the ones that feels super cool coming back to it after not touching him for a good 7 years. Since I literally haven't seen one like ever in my long time of playing reboot, it feels like I'm playing a new cool class only I have access to lol. I think my major gripes that'd make him feel a lot better would be: - combine his 2 ground fields (psychic drain and mind quake) into 1 skill, increase their duration to 60, and remove their cooldown. Even if they weren't combined, removing the cd would at least let you macro them together... - Psychic Assault: either change this to a passive so all his attacks build up a DoT instead of having to periodically use this skill, or at the very least make it last 60 seconds - Mind Over Matter tracks bosses - Recasting Train while it's currently out will move it for no additional PP cost, but not refresh the duration - Reduce PP Cost of burst skills: Kinesis tends to use up all excess PP on powerful attacks, so making it so you don't need a 3 full bars of PP to use Law of Gravity, Mind Over Matter, and Psychic Tornado together would be very nice (I think 15-20 total for all 3 would be fair, although I'd prefer if they just didn't have a cost...)
In those videos he's usually playing on burning characters that give him frozen gear and eventually temporary CRA gear, so that definitely helps get him closer to 1m. On other characters that aren't burning, he's usually playing on his main account that offers perfect link skills and over 8k legion which will drastically increase his range.
I really like how they have a resource that actually matters. Gives them a much more interesting rotation and bossing experience. Everything else ruins it for me. Too many skills feel clunky to use, a small amount of latency has a huge negative impact on the class, and they're really just kinda of ugly. The class fantasy of throwing trains is cool for about 3 minutes until the novelty wears off and it just feels like and apiril fool's joke or some out of place private server custom class
Next time I wanna see a why everyone plays Night Lord.. I like their mobbing tbh (am LvL 256) even tho those seeker stars dont oneshot, its still nice with the low CD abilitys like Shurrikane and Dark Lords Omen to put pressure on one side of a map
@@Roflmao6173 I could be wrong but last time I saw, the % pick rate for illium is lower than kinesis. At least in NA. Not by much but still lower. At least at 250.
I revisited my Kinesis for nostalgia and to get him to 5th job for my legion and although the skills were fun and flashy to use while managing PP I still felt kinda slow. Could not see myself playing that class for the mid game
Got my friend to download maple recently. He picked Kinesis, couldn’t figure out where to go for one of the tutorial missions, and then uninstalled within half hour :(
All I can say is, it looks great, I'd like to play it, but I'm just too lazy and it has too many skills to manage to keep the damage up. I don't like carrying a thousand skills around since 1st job, especially since 5th job keeps adding more and more and hardly any of those are passives.
Kinesis need to wait for 3HEXA skill updates to do average dmg now LOL. They only buffed the ultimate material IV for us, we have yet to get BPM and psychic smash IV so we are essentially doing 1/3 the dmg of some other classes now 🤣
Cool video! Always wondered why no one picked kinesis, he seemed cool kit-wise, but it makes sense. Can you do illium or have you done illium? Im interested to see how he fares in mobbing.
My main problem with kenisis is that it's quite slow + the main attck (which is hitting monsters with other monsters) is pretty annoying. Adding PPs to that and you have the one of the worst classes in maple!
Made a kinesis for link skill/legion, quit at lvl 35. Felt terribly clunky and not good to move with compared to every other mage classes. Even BaM didn't feel as bad as kinesis for me.
@@oblivion539 I think in this case it's really different. The first and second job are really bad, you only use stationary attacks that don't give you any fluidity. After 3rd job your main attack allows you to move quickly around the map and full clear most places with ease. Kinesis feels like a completely different class after you get off the first 59 levels.
Kinesis unpopularity is pretty much purely an issue of the players mentality and expectations. Sure most of the players are on the side of liking grinding and socialization more than bossing, but they want to do it competitively, so they run into Kinesis sustainability issues for competitive experience gain rates relative to most other classes that get used. Their second biggest issue is again mentality and expectations - Kinesis is to be played in a chilled, layed back manner normally, not giving a f*** about anyone else and how they're speeding along in the levels, just enjoying the grind at a relaxed pace since it's not built for handling mobile opponents in any other way in terms of sustainability - it's design is for a chilled relaxed pace normally before erupting violently with a torrent of energy in occasional bursts, cooldowns being synchronized be d*mned as it's not built for sustained damage but being an amazing burst damage class which is all well and good for high funded players who like it that way and may even find it more convenient that it's tool kit is designed around a short burst every now and again since the top funding players would commonly be using Oz/SEED rings which have short duration buffs - stuff like ssiws cheese and the 4 iTCG buff items for magic attack from T-1337 in NLC are all short burst items that match with this logic like the 1000 m. ATT for 5 seconds and 700 magic attack for 10 seconds with jiga and gigajuice or 200 magic attack for 30 seconds maybe? and I forget the 4th ones boost off the top of my head. Swwis cheese is like 220 magic attack for maybe 1 to 10 minutes maybe?? People just don't think about it from the right perspective, so he stays unpopular whilst those maining him likely enjoy the fact that this thing is geared towards the short burst every now and again style that has a fair amount of old buffs that are tailored to maximizing just that plus somewhat newer stuff like oz which even more exaggeratedly enhance the short burst to godly levels. If you're going for the short burst, it's assumed the opponent is bound or stationary oriented, so it's all good. Considering all the running about the end game bosses have you doing to stay alive, it's all well and good to be burst oriented more than sustained unless your sustained damage tool kit has attacks that go hunting around for bosses and such for you independently as summons like Lara or trifling wind of wind archer or nether shield/shield chasing of demon avengers or soul seeker orbs of angelic buster post launch, etc.
I main this class... I know I'm in the minority, but I never disliked the skills. It was the first class that really clicked with me. But yeah bossing sucks, I'm at level 246 and still have a really hard time with even cvel if I don't burst him down in one bind.
Honestly out of all the classes I have played Kinesis felt the worst. The concept of the class is fantastic, each skil individually sounds good, but the feel of mobbing with him is just janky at best. Fifth job absolutely makes him much better, but I could barely get to 140 (no burning or extreme leleving, just casually trying the class out), his mobbing attack just doesn't feel good even to 4th job.
My PP gets fatigued easily whenever I try to play my Kinesis these days. And yeah, Nexon prioritizes the usual mascots over the more innovative classes. I still stand my ground on that being the case.
Please don't stop making this series it's so fun
I picked Kinesis because I love the concept and telekinesis has always been one of my most favorite powers, but I do wish they'd improve on the class' vital weaknesses more.

the only cons i can think of is that some of the items are time gated, so you cant buy stuff straight of the community market, so it would take you some time to progress.
Would love to see after you do the why no one plays series to do a why everyone plays. Love the content!
Why no one plays Xenon next? Plz?
As a long time Kinesis main , some points from my perspective about the class :
Class is fun bossing/farming wise + dropping trains/cubes/etc , abilities clunky, aesthetic is nice, not rewarding (damage) wise for the amount of Marco input, struggles against mobile bosses. Grinding/farming is decent with shockwave do need to mange PP.
Should you play it?
If you enjoy it why not.
Which is sad because Kinesis was such a cool story and concept.
I actually thought the skills looked pretty bland but those 5th job skills look pretty cool, I might make one soon
I think my major gripes that'd make him feel a lot better would be:
- combine his 2 ground fields (psychic drain and mind quake) into 1 skill, increase their duration to 60, and remove their cooldown. Even if they weren't combined, removing the cd would at least let you macro them together...
- Psychic Assault: either change this to a passive so all his attacks build up a DoT instead of having to periodically use this skill, or at the very least make it last 60 seconds
- Mind Over Matter tracks bosses
- Recasting Train while it's currently out will move it for no additional PP cost, but not refresh the duration
- Reduce PP Cost of burst skills: Kinesis tends to use up all excess PP on powerful attacks, so making it so you don't need a 3 full bars of PP to use Law of Gravity, Mind Over Matter, and Psychic Tornado together would be very nice (I think 15-20 total for all 3 would be fair, although I'd prefer if they just didn't have a cost...)
I had no idea they changed kinisis to make the mobbing better and changed the skills
Hello Coppersan, can tell me how you hit 1 million range in your zero to hero videos with pensalir gear and crappy potentials?
In those videos he's usually playing on burning characters that give him frozen gear and eventually temporary CRA gear, so that definitely helps get him closer to 1m.
On other characters that aren't burning, he's usually playing on his main account that offers perfect link skills and over 8k legion which will drastically increase his range.
I just started the game today and picked him as my first character.
And lets not forget that kinesis requires a lot of micro management for not so great dmg in exchange when bossing >.
You should end this series with a video called "why everyone sucks" XD
They play it cause of bossing xD
@@SoColdFais I play them because their grinding is nice 🗿
Night Lord also has the strongest burst in the game
Dang if I knew about this earlier I wouldn't have hyper burned my kineses in the ignition event 😔
RAAR MAAR WAAR at this point has become a key part of your outro, don’t know what we will do if they stop supporting you 😞
Can’t wait to see the illium video lol
Idk the percentage of them but I see high level illiums fairly often compared to the other classes he has made a video of
@@Roflmao6173 I could be wrong but last time I saw, the % pick rate for illium is lower than kinesis. At least in NA. Not by much but still lower. At least at 250.
Doesn’t share cash shop with anybody. It’s a Nono for me.
I don't know why, but the RRRAAAMMAAWWWAAARRRR hit differently on this one.
Why no one plays the Eric class?
Kinesis main checking in 🫡🫡🫡
I revisited my Kinesis for nostalgia and to get him to 5th job for my legion and although the skills were fun and flashy to use while managing PP I still felt kinda slow. Could not see myself playing that class for the mid game
Got my friend to download maple recently. He picked Kinesis, couldn’t figure out where to go for one of the tutorial missions, and then uninstalled within half hour :(
How are you STILL playing this game. That's wild.
All I can say is, it looks great, I'd like to play it, but I'm just too lazy and it has too many skills to manage to keep the damage up. I don't like carrying a thousand skills around since 1st job, especially since 5th job keeps adding more and more and hardly any of those are passives.
I wish nexon would remaster him, I'm on huge copium
The current KMS top player is a Kinesis! (Lv 293)
imagine pimping out your char full of cash drips only to realize you cant share with other chars
You should do xenon, love me an all stat class
“So i can increse my pi-pi”?🥴😁
Mine's close to 220 I enjoy the class
and he still needs a microscope to see the PP .....
Whos gonna tell him that the P in Psychic is silent?
PP ... ok i have dirty mind everytime he says that
Kinesis is the best class in Maplestory, and I'm about to explain why.
> If you pick a female character, the story has yuri
Fair point
Copper just finds an excuse to say pp.
ya
I like trains
Made a kinesis for link skill/legion, quit at lvl 35. Felt terribly clunky and not good to move with compared to every other mage classes. Even BaM didn't feel as bad as kinesis for me.
Judging a class based on their second job lmao
@@CDLightt yeah? It doesn't take playing it to 200 to know it's bad
@@oblivion539 It's at the minimum 4th job to feel how the class actually plays, some classes change completely at 5th job too.
I love my boy kinesis
The yeet master
I main this class... I know I'm in the minority, but I never disliked the skills. It was the first class that really clicked with me.
But yeah bossing sucks, I'm at level 246 and still have a really hard time with even cvel if I don't burst him down in one bind.
Skill issue
@@CDLightt tbh yes, cvel isn't easy for a beginner, but a little practice and at lvl 246 it should become very easy very fast.
I think lore matters slightly and you should consider it, not just always talking about power level or playstyle. Afterall Kinesis is such an odd duck
Biggest irony is the highest level character in the world is a lv.294 kinesis LOL
I hate when my PP get's drained like crazy.
i like kinesis
Kinesis main here
Once you get to the middle point of characters you need to change the term to why people are playing this class.
XD 😆 not bad. My is staying at 50 right now
me who dislikes playing mages, Kinesis being the only one I enjoyed:
🤨
I’m sad the PPs aren’t getting enough recognition.
My PP gets fatigued easily whenever I try to play my Kinesis these days.
And yeah, Nexon prioritizes the usual mascots over the more innovative classes. I still stand my ground on that being the case.
Sometimes, but not always the case. Illium is more conceptually innovative than Kinesis and is a great class for example.
Or PP for short.... LMAO
But im a kinesis main ;(
your using the wrong skill for bossing -_-
play off your burst and you wont have to worry too much on the bossing moving around
pee pee
Kinesis was terrible to level to 120, not as bad as evan I guess
They use pp NICE
Kinesis in msm seems 10000x better than pc wth thid is horrible lml. Coming from a main kinesis in msm this wpuld be unplayable
you're going to get demonitized for talking about your PP so casually.
just upload why no one plays maple story
The "coming from friendstory" thing is weird and I don't like it
the skills are ugly and the range / hitbox is kinda strange sometimes I think im going to hit a lot of monsters and then i just hit only 1 tf
