Bass fishing can be hard if you don't know how to cover water fast. It seems like no one is really talking about what covering water actually looks like so i want to show you in this video how to do it!
BassFishingHQ is dedicated to teaching people how to catch more and bigger bass. I will go over different bass fishing tips & techniques that will put more fish in the boat or on the shore. Whether you are just starting out or a seasoned tournament angler, my goal is to help you catch more bass.

Been watching your videos and fishing about 4 months now I can truthfully say I owe alot of my catches to you. I use the stuff you use and use the techniques and it works here in California.
I took my daughter last Saturday in our kayaks to a small lake that we've never fished, the plan was to teach an 8 yr old how to fish a worm. We had just unloaded the boats from the truck and I grabbed her rod and said watch how I do this. While the worm was sinking down the line took off so I set the hook and gave her the rod. She landed a about a 2 lb large mouth, so I said cast it where I just threw it at next to the grass...bam she hooked a good one about 4 lbs but it got off. So we put the boats in the water and started fishing the grass line around the bank. After about an hr of fishing and picking one up here and there the sky got dark with clouds. I switched to a black zoom trick worm and it was on, almost every cast we made we were getting hit. To make a long story short, I figured out pretty fast where the bass were hanging out and then figured out what they really wanted. We caught 28 bass in about 3 hrs with most of them being over 2 lbs. She learned how to fish a worm pretty good that day. I think she caught 11 all together. Needless to say I'll be going back to that lake again. It's 10 minutes from my house and loaded with good sized fish, the perfect place to bring a new fisherman. Great video by the way!
Hell yeah glad to hear
I’ve only every fished castaic lake with very little luck
But caught a ton of bluegil at balboa park
@@clydesharman2053 The interstate highway builders didn’t make it very easy to get to Lake Castaic.
Holy Frog ❗️
Can I camp in your yard for a few days..?
What a great story
Great video and great shots! I’m a small RUclips channel and I try very hard to make videos and make good quality content and I just wanted to say that I really enjoy watching your videos and they inspire me keep creating videos! Thank you!
Excellent video. Love to see more of these, especially in Northern Minnesota.
my friend, could you activate the subtitles? my english is not very good 🙈 and i always watch your videos
Tap on video screen then tap on CC at the top right. Cheers.
@@eagleeye9549 They already activated thank you very much
I think the view count says it all here . We all want more theory and lake breakdowns . I’ve always believed a lotta RUclips is filled with “secret lure syndrome” videos and in reality there’s usually 1000s of ways to catch a fish . But finding where they are and developing a pattern allows us to goto any body of water and increase our catch rates . Good work , keep these coming
Thanks for the kind words. These are very enjoyable for me to make as well so gonna keep them coming
Great video. I really appreciate you giving the big picture of the process you follow. Much more helpful than most videos that just show a guy cleaning up on a school of fish. Thanks for being a great teacher!
Thank you. I need more understanding of what you think when you see things on the water. This is very helpful
Might be my favorite video of yours! I have learned alot and I am improving everytime I get on the water (which is not very often lately) but this should help
Awesome video! This style of video is amazing and I wish everyone would do it. It’s like a play by play of a football game and in the head of the coach. Great job
Very good video Ty. Like the way you walked through a thought process for us. I like the process and noting the information each catch provides. We have to mentally store the "news" as I call it then piece the story together. What where why and how questions. Thanks for sharing
Great video! I've really enjoyed watching your videos over the last few months and have been learning a ton! Keep up the good work!
That tip about water depth is the sauce! Most anglers presenting a top water lure do not take this into consideration or put that puzzle piece together 👊🏽💯
excellent information ! I took some notes about establishing a pattern and honestly feel really silly that I never thought of this thinking process thanks again
Love your videos! We learn so much from you, thank you for why you do!
Tyler great info. Thank you for sharing 👍
I loved this style of video. It really helps laying out the search
I love this video. I am always asking myself what the angler is seeing or thinking. This helps me a lot. Thanks!
Fantastic video! Really great teaching.
One of your best videos ever. Great information on finding a pattern and finding fish on a new lake. I’m going to save this one for future reference.
Thanks so much! Been waiting for this video. This adds a lot of context to when others say "just cover water". Thanks again!
I have always said, “One’s a fluke, two’s a promise and three’s a pattern. So we are on the same page. Promise and coincidence can pretty much go hand in hand. Thoroughly enjoy your content. Even with 40 years experience, I still learn from your channel. 👍👍
I appreciate that comment Steve. Thanks for watching
Very helpful video. All things I know but it’s a nice reminder to pay better attention.
Thanks again for another helpful video. I’m prepping for an upcoming tournament and I need all the advice I can get, u make it look to easy. 😃 it definitely makes a lot of since once you explain it. 👍🏻🇺🇸🎣
Excellent video. Thanks for sharing 👍

Great video! Thanks!
I live not far from that lake and also have a tournament on it soon. Thanks for the breakdown and tips. Been following you for quite some time and cool to see in you in the area!
This is best lake breakdown video I’ve ever seen, and I watch a crapload. Thank you.

This is a perfect video for me! I really do struggle figuring out a pattern
Another great informative video
Great tips!
Long time sub here and started making my own youtube videos and I know it takes a lot of work! This is a masterpiece, awesome work man! keep on keeping on 🤘🏽
More videos this style. Reminds me of the one from a month ago about finding spots and establishing pattern. This is super helpful and teaches how to think
Yeah, this was good & interesting.
Excellent
Great information ++
Once again you nailed it!! The only thing that would have made it better was before the strike we heard BAM!!!!!! Lol. Your the best!!!!!!!’nn
Great video. Now if I can just catch the first one!
great video!!!!
Love ur channel
Great video.
i drive past there all of the time! good to know theres some decent fish in there!
Next time ya in MN & in the twin cities or need a co-angler do get with me. Another great video.
What spinning combo are you using? Love the videos. Keep it up
You're not kidding about Sportsman Outfitters. I get Hybrid Hunters from them for 2 or 3 bucks less than anywhere else.
The perfect video to teach where to fish
More like this!
Dont have a boat, but will definitely try to look for some hight percentage areas from the bank.
Hey bud. Was curious if you have noticed a difference from an unpegged bullet weight "sliding" up and down on braided line compared to fluorocarbon? I feel like the limpness of braid would make a difference but I'm unsure. Like the videos. Keep em comin.
Good vid Ty. Where in Mn? I'm up northeast.
I’d say the evolved form of “Don’t leave fish to find fish” is “How to Develop a Pattern”. I managed yesterday to squeeze out a few fish but not after my initial game plan went out the window.
What are some good covering baits?
How many days a year do you fish, do you fish the bass or flow circuits at all??
KNAUS LAKE in COLD SPRING MINNESOTA
Is Sportsman’s Outfitters good about getting items shipped fairly quickly? I have always used tackle warehouse but they have gotten terrible about getting the orders ready to ship. It’s been taking 4-7 days just to get it out their door. I have had to call on several orders because it was taking so long.
I'm from MN and have seen this Lake before. I wish I could remember the name
What do you do when it's so tough and you are not getting many enough bites to determine how you fish for the day?
What site do you get your overseas JDM baits from?
jpnfishingtackle.com
Why is it when it’s been raining hard and the creek runoff turns the water muddy that the bite gets tough
What can I do to get finicky fish in dirty water after a hard rain?
Every time I have the money to get one of your blue /white sun hoodies they are sold out of XL-2XX. Aggravating 😭
New batch in. Little bit different design. They will be live soon
Can you make a video about how to get a new angler on fish? My girlfriend keeps getting skunked
What’s a lay down?
I’ve never even caught 3 fish in one day 😂😂
Anybody in MN know this lake?
this is lake or river is called sauk lake or sauk river tyler.
why do you switch hands when you cast? you can cast well with your left, i saw it in your skipping video. seems to be inefficient given the simplicity of a right hand retrieve and a baitcaster set up no?
I can cast well with my left but I am a touch more accurate with my right. It’s not a big deal in my mind to switch…I think it’s one of the biggest misconceptions in all of bass fishing
No different than what I'm hunting mushrooms. When you find one you immediately stop pick apart every inch of the surrounding area before you move a step. See if there's any more, take in the area see what kind of trees and brush are around.
Did not like the title because it seemed clickbait-y to me, but I thought the content of the video was excellent. Very actionable advice.
Most important time on water fish don’t live in the woods
While you're beating the banks the bass are behind you laughing like hell. And watching a line move and waiting. Waiting for what? Fish ain't got no arms. If the lines moving, it's in its mouth. Set the hook.
Cast your bait in the water. There, saved you all 12 minutes and 49 seconds. Welcome!
