- How to build a floating epoxy waterfall river table from a live edge slab. I used ecopoxy for the epoxy resin table and a nice live edge slab of cherry. This project had a lot of firsts for me including my first time to do a waterfall table, first time to weld, and first time learning how to pour epoxy resin. Enjoy this woodworking how to!

Why didnt you show the Full table upright?
Dang thats good
ground is the past tense verb of grind. grinded is not valid.
What are the rubber grommets you used called or where could I find them?
1
Dude, that came out great! Well explained!
thanks, Doug and thanks for your help!
Hahahaha, I thought I was responding to Retro Weld. My bad, David. 😂😂😂 Thanks, bud. I'm really happy with this one.
Wus rong wit u dawg
@@ahmadutyakapeanutusa6135 ....nothings wrong with him
A little LED lighting on the bottom would make that waterfall really stand out.
thought about it but didn't want to add the cords
I had the same thought, a strip of LEDs behind the waterfall would make it really pop.
I understand not wanting to deal with a cord, though.
tallman11282 LED lights work well, and a long time, off small batteries.
Even better just get one of those cheap LED stripes that bend and just trim to the right length to cover the whole length of it.
And add lights that can change brightness over time.
Dang man, this is amazing! Nice work.
Thanks!
One of the great woodworkers for sure. Precise and articulate instructions. Thanks.
Looks awesome!!!
thanks, Mike!
Great video and fantastic channel mate, well done 👍🇦🇺
OMG you are so detail oriented. And this is so gorgeous! Fabulous to watch. Thank you. I'll never be able to make something like this but I'm a big buyer of resin and wood.
Videos like this made me open RUclips again n again. Mindblowing work, Inspirational Video. KEEP IT UP!!!!
Incredibly beautiful! This video sent me on a bingefest through wood working videos! I think I've found a new hobby.
welcome to the club :)
STUNNING PROJECT and one of the veyr best planned & presented videos Ive ever watched on RUclips!
Thank you very much!
I am new to your channel. This is beautiful. A lot of talented people out there and you are definitely one of them. Bless you.
Thank you for keeping craftsmanship alive.
something lava themed with epoxy since you have a waterfall looking table it would be kool to see something opposite of water
That would be cool
Easiest and Best looking waterfall join I have ever seen. Thanks mate
Thanks!
Gorgeous results and thanks for the step by step details!
Thanks and you're welcome!
What type of 2 part oil based finish did you apply? Were there any issues with the epoxy "taking" the finish?
Terrific project. It seems wood and epoxy love each other. They have a perfect marriage with this table.
Great work, I've got a slab I've been wanting to do something with. Very inspiring.
thanks, Loren!
I love to see you make a desk or table , or coffee table. Beautiful work.
Nice table, I like that table
Looks Awesome Brad!
Thanks, Glen!
Dude, as a bonus, run some LEDs along the back and bottom, it'll just give a nice extra glow to the whole thing.
Use RGB, not much more expensive, but you can play with more colors.
I love watching these videos without thinking that I can make them but they are relaxing. Congrats you got a new subscriber
This is gorgeous! Looking forward to seeing more of this!
appreciate it!
Great job....you have gold hands, continue like that !!!
That looks awesome! I had a blast hanging with you. I’m glad you’ve added metal to the list of materials to use in your build projects. Metal and wood together =🔥🔥👍
absolutely, Doug! Thanks again for the help with the base!
Lowkey, welding is one of the best jobs out there, and easy as hell to figure out. Not to master, but to figure out.
What a beautiful job!
thanks!
Of all your builds, this is one of my favorite
What was the specific names for the colors of epoxy pigments you used that you linked in the description?
Loving your sorta post-industrial vibe with that touch of modernism splashed in. The splash of colour really pops and really solidifies your identity as a maker. Good job, man!
Looks great!!! 👍🏻❤️
Thanks!
solid craftsmanship dude. Packaging tape is something I wouldn't have thought of for keeping the miter joint clean. The few times I've done them I've used dowels joints and wood glue and a ton of sanding to clean the excess that pools out of the sides. I gotta remember this the next time I do woodwork.
it worked really well
I really enjoy your posts. You give just enough guidance without being long winded.
Exactly what I'm going for!
ProTip: You can skip the Alexa bit if you use the metric system.
but I'd so miss all the fractions :)
if you would use the metric system 1 dm3=1litre
Well done...interesting project. Really like when you indicate if I would do this again, this is what I would change. Helping others learn what you have learned the hard way.
This is a different type of art. I'm intrigued, mainly because it always seemed like building was a ridged thing with little creativity or freedom with it. Always seemed very mathematical and like you needed to fit a form. It is, but it was way more expressive than I thought it could be. It's an odd perspective change.
I don't know what I liked more, the table or the beautifully executed video. Subscribed!
Brad, Great video. Working with epoxy is something I’ve always thought about doing. Your video intrigued and encouraged me. Couple of quick questions: how did you deal with the air bubbles, and do you have any projects lined up in the future where you plan to do a clear epoxy pour? Thank you for everything.
JJ, the ecopoxy cures in 72 hours which lets all the bubbles release with no need for heat. Haven't considered a clear pour, don't really like the look
One of the best vids out there! Do another waterfall edge river table and use colors to mimic honey onyx then back light with LEDS! keep it up!
Thanks, Barry!

Fix This Build That interesting idea to pin this...I'm curious how it works as I might consider doing the same.
guess I should use a bitly if I really want to know how well it works
I haven't used bitly -- same as Google short links? Or does it have advantages? Tracking the data is a great idea -- I've started using Google short links to track click throughs, and am finding that companies really like it when you can hand them the data. (Shout out to Ben for this idea in his WBC talk.)
yeah, it's the same as Google short links
Fix This Build That good to know. By the way, I'm a stat nerd... Heard some rumors you might be as well. If you ever want to exchange data or bounce ideas off someone, I'm game.
You nailed that man! FIRST TIME?? Wow! The wood and epoxy 90 joint is the best part of that whole table! We will definitely have to give this one a try! We will be sure to leave a link to your video, once we upload ours!
Wow nice job 👍
thanks!
built your flip top planer/sander table and its perfect for my shop...thank you very much. just getting into my first epoxy poured table and you vids are extremely helpful. thanks again!
Awesome! Hope you are enjoying it!
3:45 my Alexa answered the question 😂
Looks great Brad. Nothing like learning from others that have done the process before like John and the guys at Blackforest.
it was awesome to get help from those guys! Now hopefully this helps someone else
OMG @3:45 My Alexa heard you and responded as yours did Lmfaoooo....
So did mine! Funny!
You made this seem so easy, but I know it's not, having nice tools helps too. I couldn't stop watching, Awesome job!
It's also not as hard as you think!
That looks great! By the way do you sell any of your creations???
Thanks! And not many
It is awesome how you poored that paint stuff in the table it was so sadisfiying
If you work with liters work with metric. 1 cubic decimeter is 1 liter.
my tape measures are in inches :)
Great epoxy work!!!🌝🌝
Dude. If you just measured in metric in the first place your life would be so much easier. You Americans need to modernise.
then I'd not have 3/16" gaps
I'm so mad my elementary school teachers taught me customary units in the first place. I really don't understand why the U.S. still uses it.
I'm so mad they taught me the metric system and told us WE WERE going to it... but NEVER DID dammi*.
If metric is better, than why does the damn 10mm socket always get lost but not the 3/8" socket?!?!?!?!?.!
Because the 3/8" isn't a 10mm socket. It's a 9.5250mm socket. It's one of those make belive sizes imperialists use for some reason...
love the wood and resin combination! ever since I saw a colored pencil sculpture someone did on youtube to celebrate a million subscribers or something. not sure how i got there or here again but these videos are so cool! such a beautiful piece. this side of youtube is so talented! especially love the color contrast and the blue
Thanks! Come back anytime 😃
Alexa, Play despacito 2
hej hej Monika hej pa daij Monika
Brad this epoxy waterfall table is amazing, totally knocked it out of the park!!!
thanks, Amy!
You need some flowing water music tucked back behind it to finish the presentation! Gorgeous!
Great job son! It makes you feel good when you go outside the box per-say and it comes out awesome! Good job and look forward to more of your videos!
I've seen a lot of videos like this for high dollar pieces where they use a type of plexiglass for the form. This mdf and tyvek tape method seems a lot more cost effective! Great video and result!!!
thanks, it really worked well!
Okay, this is crazy. I was listening to your podcast for the first time earlier and you just happened to show up in my suggested videos on the same day.
Good timing or creepy AI? 🤔
This is excellent work and detail explained very well. This is my first video I've seen of yours and I look forward to viewing and learning more. Thanks.
Very, very nice table. The epoxy river is gorgeous. Well done.
thank you, Tom!
Turned out great.. nice work!
One of the best works of recent times! Like!
thank you very much!
Loved watching this. It's beautiful.
That table turned out Awesome! You are inspiring me to make a resin table in the future.
thanks!
Nicely done 👊🏻
Thank, Jody! First welding project in the bag!
You did such a great job, so very proud of you!
Thank you!
I love that project. It gave me the idea to insert a clear tube to add a water effect. Thanks.
Wow. Just wow. So well done
Awesome!!! It's been cool watching this project evolve on your Instagram page and then finally see the entire build here on your channel. I cant wait to see what's next.
Thanks, Clifton!
Its kinda cute seeing them weld in such formal manner, all geared up and such. While here in the philippines everybody is doing it with slippers, and aviator glasses, no shirt.
I really enjoy your videos. Keep it going. You are a natural.
Great instructions man, one of the better river tables I've seen here on RUclips, thank you!
I know nothing about woodworking - but this is a beautiful project!!
Great video, I've watched it twice already to prep for my own waterfall table
Man, it was worth watching.
It's like a dream... one day I'll do it myself. Thanks for sharing
Wow this looked amazing. Great job explaining everything that you did too
That looks really cool for your initial try at it! I love how the waterfall gets larger as it nears the floor… great job, Brad!
Yeah, that was one of my favorite features too
Beautiful table, Brad! That color combination plus the cherry really pops! Thanks for the video.
thanks!
You ought to do a coffee table to match. That would make a really beautiful furniture set!
... I just keep seeing a beautiful blue river running through a badassed hardwood floor.
That looks awesome! Brings a whole new meaning to the term “waterfall table” 👌🏼
yeah, the coloring in the epoxy legit looks like water!
That’s pretty cool. I’ve seen many resin projects and this is definitely up in the top most creative.
Fantastic Brad, What about now adding a strip of LED lighting under the waterfall or incorporating it in before the pour?
Yep, that would be cool
Excellent work!!! love your channel and the inspiration you give to try new things....ThankYou!!!
Thanks, David!
I followed some of your posts on Instagram as you were building this. It turned out really well. Good job!
Thanks, Jake!
Wow, that was nice, and thank you for this channel, I've learned so much from you! You done everything I've asked others for without missing a beat.
Great build!! My daughter and I want to try this soon!!
Awesome craftsmanship Brad!
Way to go Brad. You really knocked this one right out the park! That table is completely awesome, and inspirational. 👍🏻👌🏻😁
thanks, Tom!
That is a lovely table. I'm feeling very inspired to have a go with epoxy.
Stunning effect. Wow, I can't wait to try this build. Thanks
That packing tape trick is awesome!!!!
Impressive build Brad. Really love the color of the epoxy against the cherry. You should be very proud of this piece!
thanks, Guy! Definitely happy with how it turned out all around (except maybe the details of the base 😀)
Why would you dislike this? It's amazing!
Excellent job, well done
Looks so good, you’re very talented
WOW! That turned out great! Remember the grinder will make you the welder you aren't. Awesome build man.
Thanks, Cressel! Already learning the grinder is my friend :)
Brad, this build is amazing. Excellent work!
thanks, David!
