Those first eight or so years were so amazing and then around it was ok, but the last several I just can't get into it.
Those first several years were iconic. When we lost Christina and then Derek, nothing was the same.
Nothing stays the same in life. I like that the characters are so different and the story line, wow. There have been times that I thought it Huh?

But Dr George O Mally episode was very well written, put the team together, praying and hope for the best

I am only now watching it on Lifetime. It's like a trainwreck. I want to look away, but I can't. I've been tempted to look at current episodes, but I'm watching it in season order. I know what's coming. The deaths are very hard to watch, each man's death stirring the grief I feel at the deaths of husbands #2 and #3. Now I've outlived my father, all my husbands and all my siblings. A few years more and I will outlive my mother. "How am I so lucky?" she said with inappropriate sarcasm. I once dismissed the show as outsized melodrama, but everybody ends up with outsized melodrama - the deaths, the passion, the heartbreak, if not the blood and scalpels. Those small nuggets of joy make all the rest bearable. I don't know how actors bring that much to a performance. They say that comedy is harder. I don't know about that.
Im binge watching it too and feel like I’m being cast in a vat of death and heartache. I suppose when it was launched one episode per week it wasn’t so bad but binge watching it is so hard. I’ve just sat through OMalley dying and totally ugly cried, with snot running down my face and everything. I love how they have created the moments of loved ones revisiting after death and I do hope that’s the case, I’d love to think my Dad is standing by me at difficult times like Danny did with Izzy?
@@mrserus7164 I'm usually tearing up at least once a viewing. I had to know what I'm in for, so I read the episode synopses to prepare me. I had to stop, though. Too may "Day-um" moments to get all the way just yet.
As for those who have preceded us in death, so many different ideas are around death and dying. Sacred texts give different views, and those that say they "know" are as reliable as your memory of last week's dream. One takes a belief that comforts or conforms. You'll find out eventually, right? And, if not, you won't be around to notice that you didn't.

Some great seasons. They probably should have ended it when Jackson left and reunited with April… some kind of flashforward or something then if they wanted to have a spin off but if they keep going how they are now they are gonna ruin one my favorite shows of all time!
