Well it wasn’t the same thing. Dating a patient is illegal plus everything she did like stealing the heart while interns dating attendings is only frown upon plus they didn’t do anything seriously bad like Izzie
The fact that Alex was the only person there who knew how to handle her in this situation does something to my heart. He always loved her, even when they weren't together, even when a moment earlier she was engaged to another man. I've always felt like the only true happy ending for him could be with Izzie. They had endgame written all over them.
That is when I knew that Alex and Izzie were end game. I don’t care if for a while it was Izzie and George (which In my opinion never made sense, and it ruined both of their characters.) But I always loved Izzie and Alex together. They got each other in a special way. They built each other up.
Izzie's breakdown was so real in this moment. I also liked how Alex was the one to help her break....to hold her and comfort her as she fell apart. And the expression on his and George's face when she confessed was like "Don't you DARE scold her, or I will end you. She's been through enough tonight" I know they had their differences moving forward, but he was her person in this moment.
Katherine is an amazing actress and Grey's Anatomy did not use her talent the way they should have done it, they just ruined her character and now everybody hates her character and even Katherine herself.

Alex's character was actually amazing. We all went from hating him to loving him to bits. Too sad that they had to ruin it into pieces🙄. He definitely didn't deserve it.
Izzie Stevens - my absolute fav. So kind hearted but yes so vulnerable too !! Some people really fail to understand her character !! And yes Katherine Heigl literally gifted her soul to this character ❤️
This is the love Alex as for Izzie. That's why I cannot understand why persons were surprised when he left Joe. She didn't even come close. It's like Derek and Meredith vs Meredith and Deluca... The love is real and truth but not even close.
I just realized that Chasing Cars only started when Alex came and held Izzie. I always thought this song was for Dizzie but omg no it was for izzex…. From Alex to izzie. When his love towards izzie became selfless. When he prioritized Someone before his own feelings, for the very first time in his life. Man this tv show was good.

I remember being, what, 11yo when watching this, I think it was my first real melt down in front of the tv. Coming back to this masterpiece of a scene made me cry again. How much I love when an emotional song fills in the gaps of words not spoken but shown. Perfect song to a perfect sad scene. How life can end so sudden - I had never thought about it until I saw this for the first time. Hell of a writing. I miss old Grey’s Anatomy. Coming back again sometime when I need to cry.
