I know this is an old video, but I gotta say; I've got a '14 Escape (looks like about the same trim as this one) and I have had no buzzes or rattles in it at all. I've had used cars from the seventies and eighties and they had plenty of interior noise. I guess there's something to those clipped and snapped components in the newer cars. Thanks for a great channel.

A good tip is to make sure the interior trim pieces are warm. Warm the vehicle if necessary. Cold plastic is even more brittle. Great vid again .

The only thing I had a lot of trouble with is not knowing which direction to press or pry the clips. The left side of the large gray cowling came out the easiest but the right side was bad. The little vent on the right side of the control panel cover fell off into the transmission area. I didn't know that existed. A coat hanger worked. Thank you. You saved me hundreds of dollars.

Hmmm , still a Plug and Play controller in a 2014 but for how long? A lot of fragile plastic tab crap to play with before you can even get to the plug part. Kind of would really suck if you had to pair it to the network afterwards with a J box and a pay for Ford subscription and still find out you find out you need to obtain and punch in your certified HVAC ID you need to obtain through NASTF in order to get the Ford Enigma code.

I watched your video for the Ford Escape HVAC Control Module. I purchased a good/used module and thanks to your straight-forward method, I was done in shear minutes. Blowing cold, all blend doors functioning, in short, momma’s happy. We will keep an eye on it but have one potential tip. I believe the hot temperatures may have helped with removing and reinstalling the trim pieces. I’ll Subscribe. Thanks

Once again you produce an absolutely wonderful video, that you think stinks. You can *not* make a bad video. You are a video genius, and if it feels interesting to you it _will_ be interesting to your audience. Three and a half years after posting this video is liked 1678:12 (140:1) ! It is fascinating to see the amount of force you are willing to apply to the plastic parts. I learned a lot about limits. I also have never seen the removal of plastic from the dashboard. Thanks for showing this to us.

Everyone but everyone wants to get their hands on that special item for taking off the wiper arm.The last time I tried it ,an enormous crack suddenly appeared on the windshield and was using minimum force. There are pullers out there but a lot of them don't fit.Full marks for the way you dismantled that plastic setup and kept your sanity at the same time.Congrats on joining the 98% ers, it was the best route to take.

Those instructions with colored pictures is only for the foreign car platforms adopted for the USA like the latest generation Focus and Fiesta vehicles. That is how the Ford manuals are written in other countries. Luckily for now the rest of the Ford lineup has regular text instructions with pictures. Have you ever tried to remove a blower motor in one of these new Focus vehicles you will want to blow your head off!

The truck idles perfectly, starts up perfectly on -15 degree days in Ohio, and still get perfect mpg..... Thoughts? Im leaning towards the old saying... "if it aint broken, don't fix it"
P.s... I replaced the cap and rotor for the distributer.

+South Main Auto Repair - they are really handy. I didn't want to buy a laptop so I have a handheld 480 res setup with 15ft, viewing cable. The USB one is the dealio. No Muss No Fuss! Straight up simple and super easy peasy to see what is going on the intake or cylinder or anywhere really. Think it was Brian from FordTech, that used it to see how much carbon buildup was in the cylinders and on the pistons. Also saw one of Scotty's video's on how to check Cat Plugging. He drilled a small hole before the front and after the cats to find out what the pressure difference was if there was on. Plus you could poke the video cable in and actually see what the Cat looked like. Then afterwards he simply plugged the holes if the cats were OK or replaced them if not.

I used the iPhone equivalent "trim" tools tonight to remove the screen and replace the battery in my son's dead iPhone... of course, I got to use the super-sucker tool to pull on the screen as well...! I felt like Tom Cruise climbing the glass building in Dubai there for a moment... Never mind. LOL.
Fun video and completely agree on the "sometimes it's smarter to be a parts changer" attitude when you're trying to make a living. Sometimes you gotta let go of fully understanding what is wrong and just fix the dang thing as quickly as possible. Same is true in my world of software. Common sense still applies.

Another thumbs up SMA video. At 7:13, what type of screwdriver set are you using? Can't seem to find it in your Amazon store.

When you update the A store, get the CRC brake cleaner outta there. As you have said, it is weak sauce.

if you operate the door switch with a little screwdriver all the noise will quit and you can finish what you're doing and when you finish turkey turn it the other way

Detroit Auto show banned Tesla Motor from displaying their cars at the show because they don't approve of direct sale from the factory, you need to buy a car from a stealer oops Dealer.

You know, I had cars from the 60s and 70s and back in the day you had to change your oil like ever 1000 miles, plugs every 10000 and engines needed rebuilding at 100,000. They also rusted out, even the frame. Cars are waaaay better these days

    • @johnengland8619

They still rust out in the north east, they are way less reliable and not worth the money now

I have a '15 that doesn't always respond to the knob on the right. I can get full windshield air but it never goes full panel (right side knob turned to full left) unless i turn it about 3 clicks right, wait til i hear the actuator start then turn back to full left. Cycle that 3-4, or sometimes a dozen, times before I can get full A/C on a 100 degree Texas day. Would that be an issue with this module or something with the louver actuator like some have with the blend door?
