Maynard sounds really good because let's face it...Maynards really good......cool little TooL thing.......when Maynard says the lyric "My own Mitosis" (Mitosis being the procedure of splitting a cell in two) he lands the Mi-To-Sis At the exact halfway point of the song...therefore splitting that phrase and the song...into two

U can tell how much Tool has matured as people and a band. From small clubs banging, to selling out arenas all over the world and making music for big venues and not for small time corp controlled radio. No speed metal, but powerful music that hits the soul. JMO

The part where you said, I love these cords, I was trying to "hear" it this time without the vocals because that whole section was written without Maynard. They just carve these grooves out jamming. Maynard weaves all through those cords on his own.

Understand that these opening notes were the first new music we had heard from Tool in over 13 years and it was incredibly exciting! My local Philly station played the album in its entirety the evening it was released. Absolutely incredible! However, This was the only song on the album that was released as a single and it was edited down to about 5 minutes. And, it was a terrible edit.

They opened the show with Fear Inoculum on this tour. You're going to love this album. It's hard to say but i think it's my favorite. Every time you hear it you appreciate it more and more.

I believe the idea is being inoculated from fear. He's blessing the mitosis or shedding of his old self and embracing the absence of toxicity in one's life.
EMP: While I mostly agree with your comment about headphones, I would politely counter that one might have an equally good experience using quality bi-amped reference monitors or a PA system, and sitting or standing right in the sweet spot. Clarity and stereo separation is key. Watts are a plus. 😊
Setting aside the astounding writing and the brilliant performances by the band members, the recording, mixing, and mastering of this album may be one of the greatest achievements of humankind. I believe you misunderstood the title; The Inoculum is what protects the recipient FROM something. This album is the actual TOOL we can use to help us overcome our fears!

This one is a slow burn for me. Took a long time to get in the mix compared to the other bangers on this album!
So, when you listen to this album. Do not be expecting or anticipating that much like... Ridiculous heavy shit, rather just listen and enjoy without any expectations. Thats what people that didnt llike this album were doing ive noticed in the recent years. Great reaction tho

Yes, you are going to love this album because, honestly, this is perhaps the least interesting songs on it (and it's pretty damn good!) You already know Pneuma is exceptional, but Descending, Invincible, and 7empest are all outstanding!
