Very helpful. Quick question. When you transferred the bitcoin to the wallet it showed a transfer of money. Does it transfer the value of your bitcoin (money) or the actual bitcoin itself and then shows the current dollar value of the bitcoin. What happens if you have 1 bitcoin and today the price is $10 per bitcoin but next week the price is $15 per bitcoin (example for discussion not current bitcoin price)?

Another great tutorial Rose 👍🏼. It looks like you had to pay a $1.84 transaction fee to transfer $13.37. That’s about a 14% fee which seems pretty steep. Is the transaction fee a fixed dollar amount or based on the amount being transferred?
The transfer fee can vary depending on the exchange or the wallet. Many exchanges have a flat fee denominated in BTC. Many hardware wallets allow you to set your own fees. However the fees are paid to bitcoin miners who verify transactions. If you set the fee too low they will not be incentivised to perform your transaction. So if you set a higher fee your transaction will be performed quickly and a lower fee will cause your transaction to be performed more slowly. Hope this helps.

But meanwhile if we want to use a reputable exchange those are the trade offs but there are lots of exchanges that don't do kyc/aml. It was in 2017 that I bought crypto from Coinbase & I only had to go thru kyc/aml once I wanted to send it somewhere so it was a long while before I accumulated enough to need to take that step

I would be more concerned about USD dropping in value because its trend is to never recover.

Excellent video, exactly what I needed. I own crypto in two different places but didn't fully understand how the hardware wallet worked. I always thought if you lost or broke the wallet itself you were screwed, so I was reluctant to move any over into one. I always envisioned one of my labs chewing it up one day and myself crying over it...
If one moves coins to the cold hard wallet, does buying, selling, and/or trading still occur through the market brokerage? Also, are you still able to use the market brokerage app to check balances and whatnot? Or, do you have to connect the hard wallet and perform other steps to check balance, buy/sell, etc...? Thanks.

Excellent video, exactly what I needed. I own crypto in two different places but didn't fully understand how the hardware wallet worked. I always thought if you lost or broke the wallet itself you were screwed, so I was reluctant to move any over into one. I always envisioned one of my labs chewing it up one day and myself crying over it...

If one moves coins to the cold hard wallet, does buying, selling, and/or trading still occur through the market brokerage? Also, are you still able to use the market brokerage app to check balances and whatnot? Or, do you have to connect the hard wallet and perform other steps to check balance, buy/sell, etc...? Thanks.

What about exchanges such as blockfi who pay interest for keeping bitcoin with them or investing in cypto in a Self directed IRA or Solo 401k?
