This was such a fun race against amazing competition! Also, Tabor and her husband, Eli, have a RUclips channel. Here is the link if you want to follow their training and racing: www.youtube.com/@TheHemmingsrun
I was just at the JFK50 with them! Well not with them. I was like way back there...but still, not sure I could have done a turkey trot that soon after a 50 miler. Finally walk jogged 4 miles this morning...slooowly
Hey Allie! Great race yesterday -- you rocked it and it was so fun to get to chase you, you were flying! Hope you had the BEST turkey day afterwards 😍😍
"the goal is just to go run and have fun" > bicarb comes out 😆congrats on your 2.77 mile altitude PR! it was so interesting to hear about your thoughts during the race and how you try to psych your opponents out. i agree the effort seems easier when you're competing with someone.
Legendary pacing by the Local Legend, Spence, who risked losing several fingers to frostbite. May your recovery be a speedy one, lol. Appreciate you both, well done & Happy Thanksgiving! ❄️🦃
Great race with a great pacer. You have a great man by your side. Great job to the both of you 😊 You are both so fast, and great job not getting hurt in those icy areas. That is pretty sketchy, but you both handled it well.
Love your videos. As a small running channel I appreciate how positive you are for this amazing sport. You are one of the people that inspire me to run and create videos.
I LOVE seeing you and spencer competing together. Love seeing you both with your game face on at the start line - so bad a$$. Just love this video. Thanks for making me so so happy :) Also - you got 4th overall in Boulder. Damn! And 1st female! - double damn! D-damn!
Oh this made me nervous. A few years ago I hit an icy patch while running and broke my ankle big time. I'm running seriously again but it took many surgeries, physical therapy, strength training, etc. to recover. BE CAREFUL.
First....it seems that Georgie still has his same general lack of enthusiasm for breakfast! Good Lord, never have I seen a dog so absolutely exuberant over food....that is truly a very good thing. The mile pace you are running at elevation is really serious, particularly with turns and ice. If you were at sea level, running 15:47 is pretty spectacular. When you were in the NCAA before the recent leap in shoe technology, 15:47 would likely be within 5 or 10 seconds of a win on the road for the national championship. BTW.....your sage advice of running in a race when in front, is exactly what I do when I run into an ex girlfriend.....Look as great as I possibly can! I think the key thing in that race was not to fall on that ice. It is usually easy not to fall when you are running at 8 or 9 minute pace on some ice, but when you are pushing it to 5 minute pace that gets dangerous. Really well done, and I know that Georgie truly enjoyed his Thanksgiving dinner!
THis was awesome to follow & exactly what happens in my brain for the annual TT! Every year, we test our fitness in the massive turkey trot & race each other - SUPER FUN! And yes, we're all wearing super shoes
I love it, my aim is to win my local 10k one year, first year I did it I was something like 30th lady, fast forward a few years and last year I was 10th, this year i was 4th… podium here I come!!
Don't forget the caveat of the ice and trying not to slip! Congrats on a great race Allie! Cool to see that Tabor was out there racing too. I've know her and her family for a long time and they're always very gracious and fierce competitors. Those local 5Ks are really good ways to remind your lungs how to accept that burn. :) Oh yeah, and Spence really is such a good guy to pace you. I hope by now his hands have warmed up.
Congrats Allie ! Great video footage, I almost felt to be running with you (which I never possibly could). I ran on ice this morning, it's indeed quite scary, so your time is even more impressive.
Louisville does a Turkey Trot 🦃 for Community Food Share… I ran it two years ago and did not remember that the neighborhoods around Main Street had hills! I wore my turkey hat & had fun.
Lol, this was a great video! Congrats on a year of awesome and fun times racing! It’s been great to watch you race and train so consistently. Very inspiring. I know you probably have a variety of goals next year including xc, track and trails - but would you ever consider doing some usatf or high level road races? (I think you would be good at the roads)
I did my first ever 10K on thanksgiving and while it was nowhere as fast as you, I thought “what would Allie do” when I started struggling at mile 4. Inspo queen!
Congratulations! Many years ago, some cold really impacted my fingers and still experience that impact while cycling. Hopefully Spence will be okay long term. Running looks so hardcore. 😅
Ran a Turkey Trot a few years ago and a wide receiver for the Rams showed up b/c he'd never run a 5k before. He didn't win, but boy howdy did he make it look eaaaaasssssyyyy.
When I was your age, I used to run in -70F, blinding snow, 110F and blazing Sun. I can't do the cold anymore. I'm running beside you in spirit, young lady. Keep going!
Wow, I've never run against a world class runner in some of the local 5k's I do in Norhtern Virginia. I'd totally freak out, wanting an autograph and selfies LMAO. ☺ Do people ever try to get selfies with you after the race. Since I run around 21 mins I'm sure you would be long gone by the time I finished away 🤣😂. Great race anyway getting a little payback on that other girl. 👏🏃♀🎉🎊🏆🏅 I wonder why the race director didn't do a little road management for the ice, like salt or whatever is used now. Bolder is such a running town! 🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀
Can someone answer this for me, please? How is it determined where the runners begin in the pack? Allie was at the very front. Is it based on being a pro/elite runner that puts her at the starting line?

Y'all should do a colab. They seem like fun people, too!
Back at ya! Thanks for shouting us out -- that was too kind! You guys are awesome and loved the video!
Hope you had the BEST turkey day afterwards 😍😍
same to you!! It was so fun to push each other to fast times :) See you on the trails soon!
Love that wholesome running community!
This interaction is so classy. Cheers to both of you! ❤️
Jeepers when you're local 5k has Allie and Tabor you've got no hope!! 😂😂
Haha it’s a fun time in Boulder, always!
i've got permanent damage on my fingers
Oh trust me, I know.
@@allie_ostrander There is a joke here but this is a family friendly channel
Spence is a team player whether it’s pacing AllieO or some high school kids at a Seattle all comers. All around great guy!
I feel yeah. I put up Christmas lights…same thing hah😊
Wear real gloves, not Nikes 😅
"the goal is just to go run and have fun"
> bicarb comes out
😆congrats on your 2.77 mile altitude PR! it was so interesting to hear about your thoughts during the race and how you try to psych your opponents out. i agree the effort seems easier when you're competing with someone.
nothing more fun than eating bicarb lol
"Not in Boulder, not in Boulder." Ha! When even a local Turkey Trot turns into an elite level race. Way to go, Allie O! You and Spencer did great.
The pic of hands are cold Spence are priceless 😂
I cried looking at those pics lol
I trotted as fast I as could yesterday! (21:01 pr) You galloped your way to that finish Allie! 👏
congrats on the PR!
Legendary pacing by the Local Legend, Spence, who risked losing several fingers to frostbite. May your recovery be a speedy one, lol. Appreciate you both, well done & Happy Thanksgiving!
❄️🦃
Happy Thanksgiving!
There’s nothing chill about a “local” 5k in Boulder Colorado 😂 honestly most CO turkey trots have a couple standouts
My favorite quote of yours is “my greatest fear….a Dad with some super shoes”. 😂
That ice-skating rink of a course was a groin pull waiting to happen. Spencer did a fine job pacing you to a turkey trot PB and a podium finish. 🦃
Spence nailed the pacing 👏
@allie_ostrander You trained him well. 😁
I didn’t trot faster than I ever trotted before, but that was how I started my thanksgiving as well.
not every trot can be the trottiest of them all
I climbed K2 without gloves on and my hands still weren’t as cold as Spencer, respect.
"...which I will" - a runner never misses a chance to extrapolate a good pace to a longer distance! Cheers to Spence for pacing.
extrapolation is key.
Great race with a great pacer. You have a great man by your side. Great job to the both of you 😊 You are both so fast, and great job not getting hurt in those icy areas. That is pretty sketchy, but you both handled it well.
This was gold, pure Allie Ostrander gold
💛⭐️👑⚜️🔑
Allie we love you. This is one of you best narrations! Really liked this. And go Spence.
Love your videos. As a small running channel I appreciate how positive you are for this amazing sport. You are one of the people that inspire me to run and create videos.

Yes, it was so fun getting to race next to him!
Way to go, Spencer! Your sacrifice is appreciated.
This is some great filming and editing there. Congrats! And the hemmings are beasts!
Oh this made me nervous. A few years ago I hit an icy patch while running and broke my ankle big time. I'm running seriously again but it took many surgeries, physical therapy, strength training, etc. to recover. BE CAREFUL.
Your HR in the low 190s is absolutely insane. I wish I had that gear!
That was actually Spencer’s because h was wearing the camera! Mine was 181bpm average!
So fun seeing you and Spencer race together!
the contrast between your outfit and Spencer’s contraption had me cracking up 🤣
Newest subscriber! Yeah! What’s not to Love about Allie O!!! She has been kicking bootay for years!!!
Great job! Happy Holidays to you and Spence and Georgie!

Georgie’s enthusiasm for food is unmatched! I actually think his spins have gotten faster lately, which I didn’t think was possible 😂
Oof why did I get some invested in you CRUSHING her!!!???😂😂😂😂😂😂
Spence did an awesome job and you looked really strong during the whole race. Congrats to both of you.
THis was awesome to follow & exactly what happens in my brain for the annual TT! Every year, we test our fitness in the massive turkey trot & race each other - SUPER FUN! And yes, we're all wearing super shoes
Super shoes for super fun, of course.
I too feel the cold in my hands when I'm out running. You both did great! =D Happy Thanksgiving!
Thats some good runner's math going on at the end!
I got an A in Advanced Runner Math
its great to see allie so happy
So much fun to watch you and the gang. Great run!
I love it, my aim is to win my local 10k one year, first year I did it I was something like 30th lady, fast forward a few years and last year I was 10th, this year i was 4th… podium here I come!!
you're making such big progress every year! Way to go!
Don't forget the caveat of the ice and trying not to slip! Congrats on a great race Allie! Cool to see that Tabor was out there racing too. The couple that runs together…..?? Oh yeah, this a family friendly channel! You guys looked great out there.
Trott away!!!! Love to see these
You two come across as such a great team, both here and on your podcast
It’s nice seeing you running when there is snow on the ground. I live in Canada, so I will have to run when there is snow and ice on the ground.
Louisville does a Turkey Trot 🦃 for Community Food Share… I ran it two years ago and did not remember that the neighborhoods around Main Street had hills! I wore my turkey hat & had fun.
So awesome to see you crush it Allie, your journey is so inspiring!!! Keep going! :)
also - random Q - which lactate meter do you use?
So excited when you race on the roads. I think you have so much potential.
Fun obstacle road/cross country well-balanced sure-footed travel~ given the ice and tiny bit of Co snow...You knocked it out of the park!
This is awesome, have Spence pace you more!
Great job in the Turkey Trot! My son definitely treated our race as a slow slog - we had a good time in our part of the country.
Yay!!!! So fun to scream hysterically at you both!
I did my first ever 10K on thanksgiving and while it was nowhere as fast as you, I thought “what would Allie do” when I started struggling at mile 4. Inspo queen!
How fun! Congrats on the race and I hope Spence has warmed up!
He has recovered lol
cool graphics and data, Allie. Congrats on the race, too.
Liking the new camera!
See, that's the minimum Georgie content I'm talking about. Take note Spence!
You’re such a great runner! I appreciate you
Hilarious that you made this into a competition with Taber. I hope you hugged it out after that thrashing.
Of course!
Congratulations! Many years ago, some cold really impacted my fingers and still experience that impact while cycling. Hopefully Spence will be okay long term. Running looks so hardcore. 😅
Strong runner! Even on ice.❄️💪🏻
Great. I love your daily+ Instagram posts. It's all very Real Life. Good production values, by the way. I like it.
That ice is terrifying!
allie and spencer look like they competed in completely different weather conditions
spencer da real mvp
Great video and race Allie, what a beautiful day also......best regards
Spence is a true hero, I hope his hands have warmed up 😅 Well done Allie!
Awesome Ali! That's super hard running on ice,, in a race 🙄! But holy mega, weren't you cold?!😂
Spencer is a beast
GOOOOOOO SPENCER!!!!!!
and there were hairpin bends and Icey - so that a 15:40 ish 5k pb :-)
Now this is some runner math that I can endorse.
I was there! The one cheering for you during the race. Congrats! I would have run a pr also if it wasn’t for the shorter distance.
😂 what a race. And what a video.
Damm all those 180 turns. and that ice. You did so great.....all the info as the you were racing was so good....
Great job Allie...
You guys got me dying after talking about your announcements 😭😭😭
WHAT ARE THEY!!!!!!!
Coming soon 😉
@ YAYYYY!!!
Nice work. A real Sp-Allie fest tonight here in the UK😀
Go both of you wow...what an inspiration. Hope you warmed up Spencer.
WTG Allie! The turkey trot we running in a snowstorm with lots of hills. It was fun and difficult.
Good job, girl. Do hard things!
I ran my PR at a turkey trot (15:55). I got beat by a guy on his way to his in laws. Way to win!
❤❤❤ u guys! Bravo to both!
What camera do you guys film with ?
We had a professional videographer help us film this! So all the beautiful clips are his, and I'm not sure what camera he uses!
Well done Allie 👏 and great pacing Spence 👌 How do you find the bi-carb 🤔
Ran a Turkey Trot a few years ago and a wide receiver for the Rams showed up b/c he'd never run a 5k before. He didn't win, but boy howdy did he make it look eaaaaasssssyyyy.
Are you serious? I would be soooooo excited to see an NFL player run a 5k!
When I was your age, I used to run in -70F, blinding snow, 110F and blazing Sun. I can't do the cold anymore. I'm running beside you in spirit, young lady. Keep going!
I would run in 0 K, deep space, and 15000000 Celsius, inside of the sun
Looks like fun. Way to go Allie.
Wow, I've never run against a world class runner in some of the local 5k's I do in Norhtern Virginia. I'd totally freak out, wanting an autograph and selfies LMAO. ☺ Do people ever try to get selfies with you after the race. words of the day: catastrophizer + extrapolate!
🤓🤓🤓
That’s a heck of a race considering all those 180 turns and the icy conditions
Way to go Spencer! Hope you have all 10 fingers still
Lots of fun! Thanks!
i've barely thought abouy it but I do know the exact mile pace and altitude conversion lol true trotter
Great job you guys!!🎉
Great win and We can probably credit you 25 bonus seconds for the high elevation.
Can someone answer this for me, please? How is it determined where the runners begin in the pack? Allie was at the very front. Is it based on being a pro/elite runner that puts her at the starting line?
At local races it’s an honor system, but at elite races they sometimes choose which runners get to be on the front line.
I was shouting at the 'walkers' to get out the way near the end
Prayers for Spencer’s hands 🙏
Here for Spenceys wittle handies
Oh my gosh! Coincidentally my cross country coach was running RIGHT beside you durring the start!
No way! I hope he got an altitude-converted, road, icy conditions, 5-180-degree-turns 4.4k PR too!
Whassup with that weird and dangerous course? Great job in my old hometown!
