Poor guy doesn’t know how to use words. “Personal zeitgeist” is a contradiction in terms. And the word he was looking for is “progenitor”, not whatever garbled version he said.
terrible interviewer ...don't ask the guy all about some one else...ask him about them or the music...thats why he's sitting there. you wanna know about Al...go find Al
I love what Justin added to Tool, but the raw, rhythmic, hard picking in your face bass Paul brought is my favorite.. Best Tool albums were with him in my opinion
Nothing against Justin but imagine what they would sound like if he stayed...I wish Tool would at least re-record the hits from Anema on but with Paul and his bass tone but we all know that will never happen.
Probably, but his footprint is there, even in albums he wasn't in like basically half of AEnima, and a lot of people love his style (me included) so the man's getting some recognition, even if it's not as much as he should
I know Paul said the creative process was too much. He is a creator so he creates. He didn’t want to play the same thing in the studio a thousand times, lol.
Maynard should interview Paul and talk about stories from his time in the band, as well as his thoughts on Justin Chancellor and Tool's albums after he left the band
Nah. Justin changed the band forever. Aenema and Lateralus were levels above their earlier stuff. Love Paul but Justin took them to the next level. If you can't hear that while listening to Aenema, you're tone deaf or something
Yet he takes every opportunity he can to blame Tool for their sound being HIS despite leaving on his own accord. Paul is the former bassist of Tool, not much else.
Ha ha 😂 hi Al Jourgeson it's Jenny Davis from Chicago Illinois 🩷
Paul's Feersum Ennjin record is some of the best music I've ever heard and when I found out he joined Ministry, I was very happy for him.

Wow. You're smart.
Kicked out of tool lol
Mutually departed. It was for the best.
Well well well look who we got here!!! Genius band got some bass legend!! Remember kids there will be no TOOL without Paul D'Amour
I like how they always bring up Tool when its members are trying to work on other projects haha

Paul D'Amour rarely gets credit for creating the "TOOL" sound with his bass style.

Wonder if he regrets quitting tool.

nah doesn't sound like it. according to him, they take too long 😂
I would say no to that question. Especially if you’ve ever heard Lusk. It’s obvious an album he HAD to make.
Love Paul! I was insanely lucky to get his guitar pick at end of ministry show!! Talk about most prized possessions..
According to Carey, D'Amour left the band because he wanted to play guitar rather than bass.[28]
I know Paul said the creative process was too much. He is a creator so he creates. He didn’t want to play the same thing in the studio a thousand times, lol.
He also wanted to do synths and keyboards for Tool as well, probably the main reason why they brought along Chris Pittman from 1994-1996
Also confirmed in an interview by Jones around the time of Lateralus.
Someone aged well.
He got out before his bandmates became consumed with procuring the finest steaks and imported beers.
One thing i know, you aint gettin old with All.
Maynard should interview Paul and talk about stories from his time in the band, as well as his thoughts on Justin Chancellor and Tool's albums after he left the band
Why?
The past is the past.
@@Fakename70 yeah? And? Your point?
It was just a thought lol
Tool's best bassist.
...ohhh I don't know Justin is an absolute savage
100% Paul was their best bassist

feels weird like this dude has been played bass in Tool😅
This guy played bass for Tool on Undertow. Awesome
He's a founding member of Tool
And fews song of Aenima before the recording in 1995
He is Tool basically
Yet he takes every opportunity he can to blame Tool for their sound being HIS despite leaving on his own accord.

Al was punk when no one had any clue what was wrong with him. 🙃
Ironically , nobody mention Lusk to Paul d'Amour . Masterpiece of an album. Many Thanx to him for his creativity . Bravo Paul !
Actually saw them live in Seattle in 1997. Got to meet D’Amour that night, too.
