@@simonrobinson3998 there are some beautiful songs out there that are largely undiscovered! I just uploaded 'Cindy Lord - Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White' which I got on record and it was nowhere on youtube but it is such a beautiful song!
This is so evocative of its time- forces uniforms, cigarette smoke and a glitter ball overhead. Sally Douglas has one of those deliciously understated English mezzos/ contraltos (im never sure which!), and some lovely, fruity interjection from Harry Hayes's alto.
Thank you for this! I’ve never heard Sally Douglas singing this and didn’t realise she had even recorded it! The 1940s vocalists cannot be bettered!
