I can't be the only one who often pretended to be a Lyoko Warrior fighting alongside the main heroes against XANA's monsters as a kid playing in the backyard on a sunny day. My favorite monster used by XANA is the Scyphozoa, because it ALWAYS raised the stakes whenever it appeared. Throughout Season 2,the Lyoko Warriors almost always had to race against the clock to save Aelita before her memory was completely drained (up until the episode The Key). (Fun fact: the Scyphozoa's eerie cries are actually sampled from the cries of vultures!) Add to the fact that it could steal someone's DNA code sequence (like it did with Yumi in "Missing Link") or possess any one of the Lyoko Warriors (like it did with Aelita throughout Season 3 and William in "Final Round"),and you've got one dangerous monster that you'd have to be insane to try and fight by yourself.
As a kid I made an OC to be with them and she use stick in fight. I remember making her a gymnast to make explain why she's a pro in using stick and I made her the dumbest and unable to use super computer like lol what was I thinking 😂?
I'm so late for this comment, but I indeed was one of you XD. I was just as obsessed with the show as you were. With me especially, I used to have so many dreams when I slept, of me hanging out with the gang at Kadic or in the factory.
Kindergarten for me. I remember I was one of the fortunate few at the time who had parents that could afford cable. Fall of 2003 and I caught Miguzi on CN airing it. Could definitely tell you it was when they were reairing all the episodes in order leading to the season 2 or 3 premiere. Then in class for indoor recess, I pretended that the play stove was the supercomputer, and the spare closet were the scanners. Teacher was definitely confused when she wondered why 3 of my friends insited on locking themselves inside the closet
I do that as well man! It's a comfort show for me. Despite the fact that nostalgia does play a large part of it, the show itself is just fantastic and left me with so many great life lessons!
i loved code lyoko, as European i see the episodes not much time after the original release, ahh i remember an early leak of the season 2 opening that shows Aelita's first devirtualization, i was like "WHAT!? WHY!? what happened!?" even because my local TV channel decided to start again the season 1 from the beginning to get a full season 2 broadcast license after... kids today can't understand the feeling of waiting for a new episode of a series everyday without on-demand services this show surely have a special place in my childhood note: if you wanna try to "use the supercomputer" try Code Lyoko IFSCL a fan game that simulates the super computer environment
Sorry for the late response, but dang, you're lucky to have caught the episodes, as it was airing, sooner than us Americans! But yeah, I'm always going to miss the old days of television before VOD became a thing. There was always something magical about coming home from school to catch a new episode of your favorite shows that can't ever be replicated with streaming services. It's also the reason why I miss Saturday Morning cartoons. I also have heard of IFCL! I've dabbled in it a bit in the past. It's a really good fangame!
I also want to add that as an audience member, I didn't feel like a bystander or outsider watching everything unfold. I felt like I was part of their friend group, and got to develop with them. Also, the music that Aelita played as DJ, and also the songs from the subdigitals, the transition music, We were robbed of a full soundtrack album release.
That was one of the best aspects of the show! If you've watched all the way to the end of the show, you felt like you know these guys in real life. The friend group is incredibly memorable and it gave a sense of belonging to plenty of kids who weren't popular enough back in the day to have a large group of friends! Also yes, its absolutely CRIMINAL how this show doesn't have a full OST release. Too many amazing songs in the show.
i have an idea for a crossover, that idea is Thus, Code Lyoko and Cyberchase and the Hacker teams up with XANA to Beat the cyber brats in this crazy crossover which will be like even bigger than any crossover you could probably think of.
Yooooooooo 3:54 when you said that I was like Oh HELL yeah 👍. Seriously brother code lyoko was and it is the best. At least there are people who respect this wonderfull cartoon memorabilia. Huge respect for you ❤❤
Ahh Code Lyoko. I rewatch it at least once a year. Everyone always makes fun of their big foreheads, but I loved their character designs. This was a strong trip down memory lane, love hearing someone else praise this amazing show
I remember watching this show as a kid, making it one of my favorites. During recess at school, I'd use one of those circle markings that it had (no idea what it's used for) pretend its a tower and deactivate it. The earliest memory I had that I could think of was the episode that introduced the Scyphozoa. It's good that to this day, people like us are keeping the memories of the show alive because it deserves to be remembered.
Thats an awesome childhood memory! I wish I thought of doing something like that when I was in recess back in the day. I totally agree! Its been over 20 years since the show debuted and I still have this show bringing me joy back on Cartoon Network as if it was yesterday. I'll always remember it for that. Thank you so much for watching!
i litraly try adn rewatch teh show onbce a year because this show holds a special place to me, and to think that areas of the fanbase not only keep she show alive they further expand on it with fan storys and games likt IFSCL i even found a minecraft surver that puts you in code lyoko aswell as teh games being developed on roblox too
Thats awesome man! I used to rewatch the show every year during the mid 2010s when the official RUclips Channel was uploading all the episodes. I haven't done so recently but now I honestly should get back to that! Always gotta have Code Lyoko in my life, haha! Thank you so much for watching and my apologies for the late reply!
I dreamed that I had multiple big ass monitors as I programmed ala Jeremmy, look and behold, I am currently in front of 3 big ass monitors and procastinating in my job as a programmer. This show defined my entire career.
I don’t think I have a fav character from Code Lyoko.. They’re all so fleshed out and have really good writing, like even the side characters can be so inspiring- Take Sissi for example, she’s the stereotypical school ‘bully’ but she does like Ulrich and in several episodes she develops to be a better person.. which is undone by the return to the past. It’s just really interesting honestly.
Odd will always be my favorite character. I love his personality and his positive attitude. I even try to adopt some of it and apply towards my life! But you're totally right, all of the characters for the most part are very fleshed out and thats why they're so memorable!
i've thought about this show at least once a week in some capacity for the past 20 years. i was 9 years old when I first watched it and was instantly drawn in and never left. i owe so much to this show, it never fails to make me smile watching videos about how much others were impacted by it as well
This show was the cherry on top of the amazing era that was Cartoon Network in the 2000s. Everything about Code Lyoko made my day as a kid when I was watching it every day after school. Its also awesome that the Code Lyoko fandom, despite being over 10 years since the show ended, is still very much alive today as if the show never left! Thanks for watching the video dude! 👍
"Some of our most iconic moments were over ten years ago" more like over/nearly twenty years ago. 😅 I particularly like the fact that you point out that a lot of the frustrating and immature decisions the main cast makes comes from the fact that they are teenagers (or preteens in Jérémie's case). Specifically, they're teenagers under extreme amounts of stress dealing with ridiculous amounts of trauma. I feel like that's something that's often forgotten when discussing the cast of Code Lyoko, they're traumatized kids trying to save the world over and over again in the end, it makes sense that they're messy and emotional. I would have to disagree with your statement that the kids aren't traumatized though, while it isn't explored much (which is a shame in my opinion), it's pretty clear that the Lyoko Warriors harbor a lot of trauma from the experiences as the series goes in. Great video, always love seeing people talk about Code Lyoko.
At this point for me, 20 years ago was when I was 4 years old XD. Which I'd say is the earliest age where I can recall any memories of anything, lol. Yeah, the Lyoko Warriors felt like real kids, which is why most of their arguments/fights with one another didn't really bother me like it did for some fans of the series. As for the trauma, I'd like to agree with you in that sense, but it's as you said it wasn't explored much, lol. Which can lead the viewer to believe that the kids are doing just fine mentally. XD. Code Lyoko was my life man, from the first say I ever put any thought into doing this channel, I wanted to make sure Code Lyoko would be the first thing I'd talk about! Also BTW, love the profile picture. World Trigger is awesome! 👍
Man, I only rediscovered Code Lyoko recently and it has been a huge trip down memory lane What a good show, I didn't even appreciate it for what it was, but it stuck with me for so long I was starting to think it was just something I made up By the way, there's a fan game that is still actively being worked on called IFSCL. It's a pretty accurate simulation of the Supercomputer interface and it's pretty fun too
I can still remember my the happy emotions I felt from watching Code Lyoko as a kid on Cartoon Network. I even remember the silly things I used to say at school to my friends and even some of my family members because of the show. Since you brought up rediscovery, a little fact about me is that during the brief period of 2008-2010, I honestly was starting to forget the show even existed since Cartoon Network abruptly took it off their channel. It wasn't until I rediscovered the show, at around 2011, via Kabillion from Comcast On Demand, and all the memories came back. I was able to appreciate it even more during that time! As for IFSCL, I have seen that! I've been paying attention to that project and the creator on social media to see the ongoing progress, and I couldn't be any happier of a Lyoko fan to see what a long way it came. The Fandom is blessed to have talent like that.
Stopp Code Lyoko was and still is my favorite show ever. This show is the reason why I decided to major in Computer Engineering in the first place (currently a college student btw)! I still listen to the opening from time to time. Thank you for covering this show!!
Thats seriously sick to hear this show inspired you to major that in college! Yeah dude, this show and the theme song is still fantastic even 20 years later! Thanks you for taking the time to listen to me man!
ed edd n eddy and code lyoko became staples in my life, they really did shape me in a weird way and its what made me want to become a voice actor. nice video mate
Appreciate it, man! I love Ed, Edd, n Eddy as well! Cartoons really can positively influence a child's life through enough life lessons and overall fun. And if you're serious about wanting to voice act, go for it, dude! You got this! 👍
Code lyoko was the best as a kid when there was nothing else to watch afterschool and looking back at it now as an adult it was inspirational and the writers for the show were definitely ahead of their time :)
You know it, dude! Every time the show came on back in the day, the theme song would always get me hyped! The show overall has a fantastic soundtrack! 😁
Thank you! As you can clearly tell, this is my first time doing this sort of thing XD. It took me months to finalize the script for this video, but I put my heart and soul into it because of how much I love this show. It's also meant as a nod/reunion trip for all of us kids who grew up in the 2000s! Assuming you'll stick around with this channel, there's definitely more content to come! I explained in my community posts that I'm currently busy with college.
I remember when I got applied for my first job as a courtesy clerk I was very nervous! I didn’t get much sleep I was trying to drink some stress free tea to ease the nervousness of everything going on! (It was scary!) So I was thinking about the theme for code lyoko (I never seen the show in my life) and I decided to watch the show myself! And it helped me through a lot! I became the best worker at my job and won employee of the year! I couldn’t thank this show enough for helping me through a very scary change!
@@calebpribyl5152 The fact that THIS SHOW got you through all of that stress is insanely awesome! Thank you so much for sharing that and congrats on getting that job! You totally rock man! 🤘 Thank you so much for watching!
HELLL YEAH, man! 90s kids got a great generation, but us 2000s kids had an awesome decade as well! That era gave us countless things to remember it by forever.
Its so cool to find others obsessed with this show. i rewatch it at least once a year as a little creativity ritual lol it helps a lot with getting in the headspace to work on my comics and stories.
is crazy how the worl work . so i was a child and press the button of tv to find cartoon network and i un a random channel i find code lyoko it was in france i watch for a few seconds and i was like nobody watch this lol , a few years i disvoer code lyoko again and i love it omg
First time i watched the show back in 2008 I had no idea what was i watching hut i remember i liked it. In 2017 i remembered the show again and decided to rewatch it and since then it’s been stuck in my mind. The obsession i developed is not normal. It became concerning because ever since i was researching about the show and learning more, diving deeper into the plot, understanding it on a deeper level more than any other fan out there. I dont really complain because i’m happy, Code Lyoko is heart of my childhood and as long as i remember it i will feel good
to the criticm of people saying season 1 is boring in my opinion season 1s should be at the bottom of barrel because their just starting out and trying to see where it could go I would consider an insult if there was a long runng series and season 1 was the best and to be fair that season has an overarching plot too
Season 1 honestly has so much charm to me. Despite the CGI and some of the fights being....questionable XD, I honestly come back to watch that season just as much as the others! It's just as you said, they were just trying to get their foot in to see where the show could go, by having a formulaic plot structure for the entirety of the season all the way until the last episode, "Code: Earth". Which honestly makes it easier for newcomers to jump in. Season 1 overall did a great job at building the foundation to what would eventually be an amazing show once Season 2 started. And for that, I'll always appreciate it!
also did you like the ending of the show i know some people wanted aelita to get reunited with her father but personally i didn't mind that maybe it seemed a little too happy for me and this is coming from someone who likes happy endings
While not without some answered questions, (What happened to Aelitas mother, Whether or not Ulrich and Yumi would get together, The Mystery of Carthage) I thought the ending of the show was satisfying! All the characters got to discuss their feelings and thoughts about their time fighting Xana. And, some pretty cool montages of the fights of Lyoko. Overall, I think the ending of the show is pretty much exactly what the show needed. It didn't leave us on a cheap cliffhanger for a sequel series, and we got to see the team actually accept Sissi, finally, as a friend. Couldn't ask for anything more!
Came acroos some code lyoko vids and episodes. Later on even to this video, and all I can say is: brother you could not be more right about everything you mentioned
That's what I want to keep as a semi-consistent theme with this channel. Remembering and being happy about the great things that we grew up on while also acknowledging the new!
Code Lyoko was so awesome but its always funny seeing Americans think that it was some niche thing because they got to watch it extremely late when in reality across Europe, predominately Eastern Europe where I am from, and rest of the developing world from Africa to Asia and South America was such a popular thing that every 2000s kid who had a cable watched religiously. My country even have a region-specific official Code Lyoko merchandise. I am very happy to see the show get a worldwide connected praise and attention it deserves and its truly sad to know that there wont be anything official from Code Lyoko franchise anymore as copyright to the show is now in the hands of god knows who
I knew that Code Lyoko had its success in other countries but I didn't know it was THAT popular in the places you mentioned! The funny part was, in the mid 2000s(2005 or 2006, I forget) Code Lyoko had one of the networks highest viewership count on their channel in America. The show did so well financially over here but it sadly ended up being one of those shows that was quickly forgotten, about, in American, when it was taken off air because Cartoon Network never aired the series finale on their channel. You had to go to Cartoon Network's website in order to watch the last episodes on there, but most kids didn't even know that. So back in the day, the people who were invested in the show weren't given any closure to the show and thus it faded into the back of our brains as a lost memory. It had to take us 2000s kids to grow up and naturally rediscover the show thanks to RUclips and social media. As for the rights of the show, the creators of the show answered this question in an interview a few months ago, and that the people who hold the rights to Code Lyoko nowadays is a popular animation company in french (I can't spell the name for the life of me lol) and if you didn't know, the creators got in touch with that company to get permission to use the rights of the Code Lyoko IP to possibly bring the show back!
@@Jman88933 You're welcome! Also did you know that it's Code Lyoko's 20th anniversary from when it aired on cartoon network today? I'm going down the Lyoko youtube rabbit hole to celebrate.
@@balrogdemorgoth4741 I absolutely did! Already made a post about it on my Twitter! 20 years, SHEESH! Someone slow down the clock 😆 XD If you stumbled upon my video just from doing that, thank you so much! I hope you also discover many other cool RUclipsrs in the space!
i have to say if there a couple of flaws is like teen titans with the episode go I wish xana awakens would of been the pilot not teddy godzilla it threw you in the deep end like teen titans and like you pointed out in your review I hate when conflict is stupid in the show specifically in the valentines day episode girl of the dreams franz hopper and image problem and also this may be an unpopular opinion but I didn't like willam being xanas lacky for the last season it felt lazy to an extent its the only thing I liked that evolution did was make willam a permenant member of the team and also I know you love xana as a villain but I think it would of been cool to have a real human villain in the show too but this is just my opinion so think what you may
From what I understood from my research, the creators didn't want to alienate or make it harder for kids to jump in on Code Lyoko Season 1 by having a plot from the very start. Which is why the first season was formulaic. Though, yes, I do wish Xana Awakens would've been introduced much sooner. As for the conflict, while I'm not fond of some of them presented in the show, you should keep in mind that these are kids within the age rage of 13-14. Drama, especially the absurdly petty kind, is extremely common at that age. So I can’t say it really hampered my experience. William on the other hand, I actually liked that he was a villain. It gave the Lyoko Warriors a new, and tough challenge each time they entered Lyoko, and it gave them a new goal to work towards when it came to their job. I understand your opinion and it's very valid.
Great observation, and you'd be 100% right! My avatar is based on how my character looks in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis! I had my artist do it for me!
@EdgeZXY Yup! I enjoy the game a lot! I haven't been playing too much recently, but I do want to go back. I want to get so many more cool outfits for my character.
Man, that was a perfect video, you described every aspect of the series so perfectly, that I could really feel the passion you have for the series, and you made me remember why I liked the series when I first discovered it back in 2004. Sadly, I was never able to watch the finale as a child (In LatAm they moved the show to the 2:30/3:30 am time slot when Season 3 premiered), but after watching your video, I feel inspired to re-watch the series from the beginning and until I reach it's conclusion. I will try to enjoy as much as I can tell you did
I'm sorry to reply very late, but thank you very much! Even if you never caught the finale, I'm glad that you were able to have at least some enjoyment with the show as a kid! Honestly, its kinda hard for me to go back to this video because to me, it REEKS of "First video-itis" XDD. That's why I'm so surprised you would call it a perfect video, but I'm still thankful nonetheless!
@@Jman88933 No no, don't be so humble, I really liked it, and don't worry about the late reply. Yeah, I was never able to catch the finale, I actually learnt how the series ended a few years ago when someone from my country made a video summarizing the whole series, but still, someday I'll watch the series in it's entirety
Dude as a 22 year old now I still remember code lyoko. I’m even trying to write a FanFiction about it. Wish me luck. If you wanna read it @Code: J-MAN I’ll respond to this with a link 😃
Okay so here’s the deal. Basically Shino is this guy who’s been sent into the world of Lyoko (the show) after being transported through his computer screen. Using his knowledge and personal tastes, he’s able to recruit sissy and Jim into the team. William will be saved too. As the story goes on it’ll be better explained!
Sorry forgot I can write it all at once. I will also be watching the show episode by episode to be exactly as the story goes without creating too much confusion. No ships will be done as canon ships will occur and tbh I would ship my character with sissy. Sissy has always been an interesting character to try and develop and change!

Man, I only rediscovered Code Lyoko recently and it has been a huge trip down memory lane
What a good show, I didn't even appreciate it for what it was, but it stuck with me for so long I was starting to think it was just something I made up
By the way, there's a fan game that is still actively being worked on called IFSCL.
Absolutely, man! So much of this show was definitely ahead of its time!
best intro song for a cartoon ever! ❤ i sing it every single time
You know it, dude! Every time the show came on back in the day, the theme song would always get me hyped! The show overall has a fantastic soundtrack! 😁
Sjr you are a very deep thinker I enjoyed your analysis of Code Lyoko Have a nice day!...... 😢
Thank you so much man! Glad you listened!
Very well-spoken 👏🏻 definitely represent my whole inexplicable feeling
@@Jman88933 you really did a great job! Can't wait to see your other videos in the future ^^ good luck with your college, Lyoko Warrior!
I remember when I got applied for my first job as a courtesy clerk I was very nervous!
I didn’t get much sleep I was trying to drink some stress free tea to ease the nervousness of everything going on! (It was scary!)
So I was thinking about the theme for code lyoko (I never seen the show in my life) and I decided to watch the show myself!
Thank u for Code Lyoko content, this cartoon is so important for me, as a kid it was such a fascinating world to hide in and search for comfort
You're welcome! Thank you so much for watching! No matter how many years has went by, Code Lyoko still means the world to me!
@@Jman88933 reletable, i am glad to see that i am not the only one who was so impacted by this show. Have a nice day ;)
It's not every day I used to watch this back on Cartoon Network when it was in it's hay day.
I did too! One of my most cherished memories is watching everything Cartoon Network back in the 2000s!
This is a really good first video! I can tell you’ve got some incredible potential, and I’m excited to see how you grow!
Thank you so much! I really do want to see how far I can go with this!
It is officially on RUclips. And Netflix.
Yup! I'm aware!
Number 1 Fan!
You're too kind!
I haven’t even watched the video yet, but I know this is gonna be guuuuuuuud
You know it dude!
Being a 2000's kid is one of the things I am most grateful for! Especially because of this great show!
That's awesome, man! Yeah, Code Lyoko became a comfort show for me after a while! It still holds up very well today.
is crazy how the worl work . so i was a child and press the button of tv to find cartoon network and i un a random channel i find code lyoko it was in france i watch for a few seconds and i was like nobody watch this lol , a few years i disvoer code lyoko again and i love it omg
I'm glad you rediscovered it when you did! The show is awesome!
I dont really complain because i’m happy, Code Lyoko is heart of my childhood and as long as i remember it i will feel good
Code Lyoko is a core part of my childhood too man! I couldn't be happier that I got to grow up with it! It was such a well crafted show!
to the criticm of people saying season 1 is boring in my opinion season 1s should be at the bottom of barrel because their just starting out and trying to see where it could go I would consider an insult if there was a long runng series and season 1 was the best and to be fair that season has an overarching plot too
Season 1 honestly has so much charm to me.
Couldn't ask for anything more!
now this is close heart
Thank you!
Came acroos some code lyoko vids and episodes. Later on even to this video, and all I can say is: brother you could not be more right about everything you mentioned
Thanks so much, dude! And thank you for watching!
Dude awesome video and grate nostalgia feels love it 🎉🎉🎉
That's what I want to keep as a semi-consistent theme with this channel.
Nice video.
Thank you!
@@Jman88933 You're welcome!
Also did you know that it's Code Lyoko's 20th anniversary from when it aired on cartoon network today?
I'm going down the Lyoko youtube rabbit hole to celebrate.

Oh That Was Nice.
Thank you, man!
i have to say if there a couple of flaws is like teen titans with the episode go I wish xana awakens would of been the pilot not teddy godzilla it threw you in the deep end like teen titans and like you pointed out in your review I hate when conflict is stupid in the show specifically in the valentines day episode girl of the dreams franz hopper and image problem and also this may be an unpopular opinion but I didn't like willam being xanas lacky for the last season it felt lazy to an extent its the only thing I liked that evolution did was make willam a permenant member of the team and also I know you love xana as a villain but I think it would of been cool to have a real human villain in the show too but this is just my opinion so think what you may
From what I understood from my research, the creators didn't want to alienate or make it harder for kids to jump in on Code Lyoko Season 1 by having a plot from the very start.

I have an idea 💭 for a crossover. Jman, and a video on a certain scientific railgun.
Hahaha, cool. XD I do love that anime after all!
Completely off topic, but your character looks like a Phantasy Star Online player character
Great observation, and you'd be 100% right! My avatar is based on how my character looks in Phantasy Star Online 2 New Genesis! I had my artist do it for me!

Feel free to post it so that everyone can take a look!
