Nice to lusten to and still an amazing voice. But nothing compared to the live version she did many years ago for aol sessions. Search for "Pink bobby mcgee aol sessions". That version is so full of energy and hear singing is just amazing. In this version here she sounds a bit tired somehow.

This is my absolute favorite Janis song. I've been a Janis fan for forever. I think Pink is the only person who can do justice. But I think Pink needs a bit more whiskey and cheap cigarette to get that Janis tone. I'm big Pink fan too by the way.

Excellent performance !!!....but that song belongs to Janis, she had the bohemian voice, the passion, feeling and the technique. I read back somewhere that she recorded it only once...while badly playing her guitar. I don't know if that is true.

why is it these artists sing this song and DON'T learn how to properly pronounce Baton Rouge correctly. Every time someone from the south hears this we just have to laugh because you can tell it's a Yankee singing this song.
