    I started my first two tumblers for family going to the beach for vacation. It’s about 103 here in Nevada so guess what … my colored and plain epoxy set up hard in about 30 minutes. Lol. Thank goodness I loaded up the white the first time. They are beautiful. Thx so much.

    I love the look of your beach tumbler! I always overthink mine and mess them up 😬🙄 I need to remember to not overthink what I am doing. My tumblers always come out better when I’m not overthinking it. I’ve been doing this for 2 years now and still overthink it 😂

    Word to the wise. If you live in Arizona, and it is over 105 degrees inside your sheshed WITH the air on, do not make this unless you want a storm at sea! Still a beautiful tumbler but a way different effect!

    I love this! Since i am new to using alcohol inks and paint in epoxy. . .I have a question! what are your mixing ratios`? my mixing turned out stringy and i don't think this is normal. thankyou! and love your work!

    after the turtles were added did you do a tinted epoxy? they look like they are underwater. very cool!

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  Год назад

      Great question! I used a clear waterslide paper to adhere the turtles with. So they blend with the water look a bit and give it that submerged look. You just have yo be careful not to lay them on too dark of a surface so they still show through. Glad you enjoyed! 💖

    When your adding the paint mixed with epoxy, are you placing that on the cured epoxy?

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  4 года назад +3

      Great question! You want to place the mixes onto the freshly applied epoxy base. So that way everything mixes and blends when you apply your heat.

      1. Alcohol Ink to cup (white base)
      2. Layer of epoxy and let it dry
      3. 30 mils of epoxy and paints

    When you go to initially add your blue alcohol ink and acrylic paint mix, do you have clear epoxy on it first so it moves around or do you put that on without a coat of epoxy first? (I hope that makes sense! )

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  3 года назад +1

      Makes perfect sense! Yes! I add a coat of clear epoxy to the base before I add all the colors on top to help them move around.

    When you come back thirty minutes later to touch up the white epoxy do you need to mix another batch or is it still tacky enough to use? I know you add more pigment, but wasn’t sure if the original white is still useable. Thank you.

      Because the amount is so small in my cup it is just really thick but not hard. I like to use it like that to give a bit more dimension. If you have a cup full of epoxy and wait that long it may have already started to harden on the top. I know it sounds weird. It’s just the chemical reaction speeding up its cure time by the chemical molecules being able to bounce off each other faster and heat up quicker.

      Sandy’s Organized Chaos, thank you, I wasn’t sure so I didn’t go back and add to but I think I can on my next thin coat probably. If I’m light handed. I need more foam by the waters edge. Thank you for the tutorial. 🥰

    Hi! I’m currently making this for a gift rn and I was wondering, when you add the mixed colors or epoxy/alcohol ink, do you apply all that the the clear epoxy while it’s wet? Or after it fully cured. I was under the impression that you apply after it’s cured so I waited but now I think that was not the right thing. Thank you so much!

    • @SandysOrganizedChaos
      @SandysOrganizedChaos  2 года назад +1

      Great question! I applied it all onto the wet epoxy on the tumbler. It helps the inks slip around and make those wave looks you are after. 💖

    Does the white spray paint base have to be matte white or does it matter.
    Was thinking alcohol inks would bead up on satin

    Ok I just tried this and I don't know if I used enough epoxy on cup as well as mixed with paints. It isn't moving like yours did. How much epoxy did you use for cup as well as paint cups?

    • @michelleeldridge8918
      @michelleeldridge8918 3 года назад

      You use about 30mils to put on the cup then about 5mils each for different pants/inks. Using a heat gun or blow dryer or even taken the arm off the turner sometimes help move the stuff around
