Tomorrow afternoon I'll be speaking at Taliesin West in regards to inspiration and my creative process for creating jewelry collections based off the architecture there. Listening to this right now adds a great perspective. Thank you for this upload!
I had the honor to work with an apprentice of Mr. wright while living in Madison after graduate school ... Herb Deleve... a fin architect in his own right... I made stained glass windows and sculpture for some of his homes... I have visited several of Wright’s buildings and read many books dealing with his designs and philosophy... only now, with the pandemic descending on us, I realize his philosophy of decentralization, suburban, natural and organic architecture, is coming into focus. We as a society would do well to leave the cities that are congested and infested, to a modern, natural and organic connection to our world... a horizontal view instead of a vertical view... the end of skyscrapers and the subways and the crowded urban setting.
Falling Water was the house that inspired me to be an architect. Luckily, I had the opportunity to work for his project architect, Edgar Tafel after I finished school. George Wu, ARCHITECT, A.I.A.,NCARB 2019-6-29R
That's a rather self serving statement he made. I can't help believe that if he were in another branch of the arts, he would probably have declared that that was the mother instead.
Modern Architects should be able to Perform all tasks of building prior to designing any building. That means hands into mortar, operating saws, torch cutting iron, welding. ALL TASKS! Otherwise it is equivalent of having chefs in which cannot cook the dish they intend to serve

Architecture, the Mother Art. -Frank Lloyd Wright

Amazing. "You have to get your hands in the mud of which the brick is made" swoon.

Is there a good (online) open archive of Frank Lloyd Wright's interviews, lectures, transcripts, writings...?
RUclips is where I go
FLLW was a trump-like windbag; but his love of NATURE and sense of beauty saved him and for those who understand between the lines saves us
